I will always say that these gems didn’t sell because the people that currently do buy games were just kids and depended on our parents to buy it for us, also they were usually rented.
I loved this game! I was a sucker for cool covers as a kid. Once I saw this on the 360 I had to get it and I remember it being SO GOOD. I was hard for me back then but someone talked about it yesterday and this brought back so many memories. A gem of a game, sad to hear it ruined the creators life savings.
The back story of the Creator is definitely a sad one. Game is great tho and I'm glad It got shown love in 2020 and got to actually be seen and appreciated by more people.
Wait what? You didn’t like the legend of dead kel?? That whole saga was some of my favorite content in the game! Some really cool and interesting unique bosses and overworld enemies ( scabs, tree golems, ect ) I love the feeling of exploring old shipwrecks and finding treasure. Not to mention the player home was epic! For me , teeth of naros was the underwhelming one aside from the final boss fight which I would say is probably the hardest fight in the entire game if you’re not already OP.
Wait there was a player home in dead kel dlc? Idk how I missed that. Also I am not quite sure what it was about the dead kel story it just didn't click with me.
@@IAmVehementyeah the player home is like half the content of that whole dlc, it has you searching for survivors to fill different jobs in your castle, each has their own side quest to find and they give out endless radiant quests once recruited that give some unique benefits or rare treasure.
I know its janky. I know its silly. I know Skyrim is probably overall better. I know it has many flaws. But this is the game for me. Its the only game I have put over 600 hours in and keep returning to it over and over. I had it when it first came out, I had it thru PS Plus, and when I found out it was on Switch, I got it again and sunk more hours into it than I ever had. I have no regrets. This is the perfect game for me.
Hell yea I've now played through it 3 times and regret nothing. I have never finished Skyrim so I am not sure if I like it better but I do know I've never felt compelled to finish Skyrim where as I always finish this game.
Perform a critical analysis of Skyrim, combat is not varied, graphics for a game like Amalur which is something Catunesque, it came out ahead in this story aspect, controversial point, however, as a big fan of Morrowind and Oblivion, Skyrim's story is very weak, technical quality, I don't even need to comment on Skyrim, I would say that Skyrim comes out ahead in character creation, secondary missions, exploration and mounting, but in the rest it left something to be desired, obviously with mods it's another story.
Skyrim is in my list of games to cover for sure I started a playthrough earlier this year not for a video and then decided I wanted to cover it so I stepped away from Skyrim for the time being.
@daviluiz6789 oblivion had a horrible leveling system though, the major skill/minor skill separation was dumb, not gaining an EXP from increasing minor skills was the worst decision ever, Skyrims leveling is so much better
It truly is an excellent game through and through. Play on hard difficult and use a mod to reduce how much gold you get by 75%, and do NOT craft. It's the ultimate solo experience this way. The only problem is that eventually you realize there's no more new enemies - just reskins.
@@IAmVehement I'd say the one thing that truly frustrated me was that, once you get to a city, you're apt to spend at least an hour or two just jogging around talking to me. The cities are ENORMOUS.
Some of the faction quests are awesome, especially the Main Mage one. You do not have to have might abilities for the warrior/warsworn one, which I appreciate as it is by far my least-liked class of the three. I prefer a Sorcery/Finesse build any day.
After having done a second playthrough now, of re reckoning and tackling the new DLC... well I can say I agree generally but a lot of the sidequests are pretty generic/boring in the base game, there are stand outs though, and any faction type task is usually a grade above too ! That said nobody should use blacksmithing lol, far more fun to use set items & find good uniques (purples) imo
If you put a crafting system in the game, there's no need for me to do a whole line of secondary missions knowing that the legendary armor I'm going to get is worse than crafting armor.
Looking at DA The Veilguard, they could very well evolve KA ReReckoning into a sequel. Improve aspects of the game and keep more action RPG elements than the BioWare guys did. Of course, knowing how to balance expectations and budget.
This game has a pretty sad backstory to the original developer that created it, but the new version of it makes it definitely worth a try. Only gripe is how the areas work. You enter a new area and that’s the level it will scale to and if you leave and come back later, those enemies will be your old level and be overly too easy and kinda boring.
It has a slight scaling in each area with the remaster. They removed the level cap from the original so now the area it has a base level but if you leave and come back it slightly scales up.
In simple words, you didn't really play all the game. Bow are one of the most broken weapon on the game if they're used right. Using the charged attack up close with improvement skill, cause a ridiculous high damage for shooting 5 arrows where almost all will be a critical with poison on top of them. Faeblades are broken just for how versatile for move around are, Dagger are one of the faster weapon of the game and critical spammers. Mages are monsters. Straight up. Hitting lv 23-27 is just entering GOD MODE after learning Meteor and starting doing AoE, massive AoE. On top of that, even if they got damage when casting Meteor, the spell get cast anyway, making the idea of getting damage the faster way for cast over and over Meteor. And on the latest DLC, the staff turn on the best weapon for deal with the annoying Chaos Bar. Greatsword are the most fun to play if you know how press the buttons at the right time. it can easily end in the only melee AoE normal attack weapon on the game and an actual high speed. It was normal going with that weapon style combined with Rogue on Critical for instantly do heavy damage AoE with a normal attack. Also, you get rare weapons BY DROP, not by quest. Only a very few are get by quest, where the big ones are only by drop or chest of any kind. The Skills can actually be max all of them. Because they're side quest where you either get a permanent passive that will arise skills or a book that will do the same, at lv 30+ you usually get a almost all Skill on really high level. With the latest DLC, it is even possible get every Skill to the max. I was expecting someone that actually play the game and not just one that play one time and stick up to never really explorer it.
I've still gotta play through Skyrim. I've played a bit of it and beat it when I was pretty young but I pretty much only b lined it through the main story so I didn't ACTUALLY experience Skyrim in my opinion. However Witcher 3 I've played through twice and loved every second of it. Tbh I agree that KOA RR deserves to be up there with the greats.
Yeeeeah boy I never got very far on this because at the time of playing I never actually had anything to play it on permanently and I’ve not revisited it YET. But it defo scratched my Warcraft/skyrim itch for sure , didn’t wanna contribute to a subscription service game so never played wow and wasn’t feeling the first person aspect of Skyrim so reckoning was dope imo
For me it's in my top 5 with the witcher. I would say the witcher is a better game but I love them both very much. It was originally released on 2012 and it feels like it but it has a lot of great things to love about it
Don't sleep on bows; they're somewhat slow to get going and seem very weak early game, but they're quite possibly the most damaging weapons late game. On top of that, they also have shotgun capabilities.
@@IAmVehement Most things are weak in the beginning, but especially ranged in particular. For instance, sceptres in end-game is just brutal - pew-pew-pew and everything is dead. But at he start of the game sceptres are mere silly-sticks. Either way, I recommend getting to level 18-20 any way you please, and then use a Fateweaver to respec at that point. You should have access to proper levels of Blacksmithing at that point as well to fully complement the switch.
Makes sense. I also noticed while playing through a lot of the exotic and higher leveled bows seemed pretty op with there stats. I'm not much for magic in games but I have heard the sceptres go pretty hard too.
@@IAmVehement If you really want to make a bow build and make the most of it (min-max'ing), I'd recommend the following: 1) Race: Varani or Dokkalfar with Belen as patron god. 2) Aim for the Blademaster destiny, but prioritize getting the full bow line of abilities and after that your aim is Battle Frenzy. 3) Make use of all trainers to ensure you have as high as possible Alchemy, Blacksmithing and Sagecrafting levels (you can make skill increasing potions with Alchemy). 4) Buy Everlasting and/or Damaging components from Didenhill, Ysa, House of Valor and Camp Moondown whenever you get access to these places. 5) Once you get Blacksmithing high enough to use gems as components, make utility gems with +7% Crit Chance. 6) Get to level 40, but don't clear the final main quest. Instead go through Dead Kel to get access to Gravehal Keep and unlimited components via Diplomacy missions. A buffer of Flawless Everlasting and Damaging components is your goal here. 7) Clear the final part of main quest, continue through Fatesworn and level to 50. After completing Fatesworn, you'll get access to the endgame arena. Clear rounds until you get Despoiler and Fatesworn crafting components. At this point you can go back to Gravehal to get Flawless Mitharan Damaging components and make your final endgame crafted set items with the rewards from the arena. 8) Grind out all of the Chaos gates to get the highest rank of Chaos Thrall and then craft your endgame monster bow. 9) Other things to complement; explore the full map of Teeth of Naros to get a Twist of Fate with +1 to all Finesse abilities, gamble for accessories with Warlord modifiers. ... Otherwise, feel free to cherry pick any of the above to suit your preference. Cheers! =)

I still don't understand why so many people loved the scrolls instead of this game. This game was made from scratch and each location was drawn as something unique. The lore here was also invented from nothing and became something beautiful. And the scrolls have a dragon, a few lines in the dialogue, and mods for perverts.
I loved this game. Got a kick out of the fact on one quest instead of killing the spider lady i took her as my wife to rule b6 my side over that one fae court
Love this game so much but the bugs are really a problem. If anyone knows about a patch or something to get over all the bugs, it would be really awesome.
I thankfully didn't run into to many bugs other then when in talking scenes the camera would cut people's heads out of the shot or you'd be looking at people's chests. Occasionally things would fall through the floor but other then that I didn't have many issues thankfully.
@IAmVehement have you managed to reach the point where there is a glitch at Teeth of Naros, and the point when you had to kill Ametair? Those two were the biggest glitches so far.
@@IAmVehement I'm stuck at confronting Anotakos. I googled and found that others faced this as well: When facing anokatos, he freezes secandra, and once you are about to fighter him, she talks to you and your stuck in the corner and anokatos will not attack you but he will not die. There is no known fix for this.
This is one of my favorite games ever and maybe better than Skyrim... I don't know how it's not better known... the gameplay and deepness of this game has no equal
KOA is one of my favorite games ever made. But, its nowhere near being one of the greatest games ever made unfortunately. It becomes extremely clear almost immediately that its just solo wow, which was the intention of the devs. Once you leave the forest area, the game has become incredibly stale and its offline mmo gameplay becomes boring. Theres one main quest in the desert area where you have to run (no mounts btw) genuinely an hr in every single direction over and over and over again. Sadly this hidden gem of a game is plagued by that. So every time i play it, i get burned out and a yr later when i decide to pick it up again... i cant remember where i left off so i start over and its just rinse and repeat. Its a shame, because if they just added mounts like you get in wow, the game would be sooo much more tolerable.
@IAmVehement its such a shame because if they just gave us a mount itd be one of the greatest rpgs ever made. At least before the endless running gets stale and burns you out, its a hell of an experience.
I plan on playing Skyrim for the channel at some point. I played it once when I was younger but I don't remember it very well. I also b lined it through the main story quest so I didn't really play it right.
hello.i play this game recently. i wanna ask: is it possible to get purple armor or weapon in blacksmith, because i always get green and sometimes blue armor?
Sadly you can't make purple gear however at higher blacksmithing level and higher grade gear your items will still be 10x better then most gear you get in the game anyway.
@@IAmVehement thanks so much for the explanation. as a new player, this game is fun. Especially when we get random purple gear or gold by completing main or side quest
i devoured this game back in the day. sunk 30 hours alone in the first zone. my gripe was the dungeons sucked, they were all so generic and bland. The overworld was so much better. I also got hogwarts legacy and it immediately felt similar
I haven't finished Hogwarts legacy I bought it on PS5 and my file got corrupted and I couldn't continue and lost all motivation to play it. I do agree about most of the dungeons. I actually wish I had brought that up in my video.
It goes on sale a ton so I'd just give it time if your on steam id wishlist it to get notified when it hits sale. Even on console it hits sales super often.
This is really tough but I'll give you 5 of my most favorite games not in any specific order Ni no kuni 2 Koa reckoning Zelda ocarina of time witcher 3 Metal gear solid 1 and 3 equally
@ Lies of P Zelda and the ocarina of time Sekiro Pokemon SoulSilver God of War 2018 Wait, sooooo, I’ve played about 50 hours of Ni No Kuni Wrath of the white witch remastered and was having fun and not even halfway through! I stopped from burnout! Are telling me that Ni no kuni 2 is better?
Ni No Kuni 2 is a completely different game from the first game. The first game has a totally different combat system and the 2nd game has a whole system of kingdom building and some side quests are also recruitments for different citizens to work in your kingdom along with the story being really damn good. I also want to add dark souls 3 and spiderman 2018 to my list
I started this game and was like "nope". felt too hack and slashy. The production value is high but they tried to stuff too many features into the game.
I definitely prefer this to Skyrim. IMO Skyrim dumbed down character creation massively by removing class selection, and skill selection from character creation., and they made the idiotic choice of wanting the player character to choose a side in a war but giving them a great reason to hate one side in the first few minutes of the game. Plus IMO the combat in this is much better then any Elder Scrolls game so far.
I like both games but I personally also prefer this game to Skyrim. I connect to its gameplay and build making a lot more. I do think that they both have a good sense of freedom but KOA gives you more of a reason to work with every faction and hear there stories and delve into there missions. The combat is also miles better
KoA is very generic and repetitive, not super bad or anything, but it falls flat when compared to other really good things like Dragon's Dogma or the Souls games, especially Elden Ring, but comparing with Elden Ring is not really that fair.
You just described Dragons Dogma buddy. Incredibly generic dark fantasy with a story that isn’t even worth mentioning. Fantasy tropes like talking dragons, generic fantasy monsters.
@@IAmVehement Everything is about how much mechanics in game you need to use. On easy, poeple ignore most of them and get bored becouse they already op. On hard, poeple need all of them and still fights take long if enemy have higher level. One difficulty mean better balance, better balance grants more fun. That just tip of mountain of problems this game have. Still settting and art is dope.
Gameplay was fun but the story is very meh. The world is dull, no sense of immersiveness and dialogue is simplistic. You can wipe Skyrim from history and this game still has no chance.
I think the main story has some short comings but if you focus on the overall narrative with the side quests and the faction quests the story holds up. I also love the world too. However if that's how you feel you have full right to that opinion!
I reinstalled this recently, and NOPE, mechanically it barely stands up. The rolls are akward, the feedback on many weapons is underwhelming, and even in the remaster the graphics don’t look great. Sorry. But I guess there’s no accounting for bad taste.
The combat is far too simplistic. Once you have a decent weapon, which comes fairly early on, you won't have to change to different weapon to take out all the dumb enemies you face. The game is just too easy - which is a choir as AI is dumb. You can't even walk over pebbles, you can't jump, you can't climb to higher grounds - as you are on flat ground all the time. Most enemies are just re-skinned. You just go A to B mashing away - repeat, repeat, repeat, repeat...etc. A majority of side-quests are repetitive and bland - kill, fetch, kill, fetch, deliver, kill, dilever...etc
They aren't in the same league but for me I like them both in my top 10. Hence me saying they are incredible games. Witcher 3 is a 10 but I feel like a odyssey is a 9 but they are very different games.
@@IAmVehementac odyssey a 9, DAMN! Dudes got dogshit taste on what planet is that a 9 lol it’s another rehashed POS didn’t you get bored after like the 15th

I am replaying this game at the moment and I’m going the Finesse/Sorcery Route. And so far, I’m enjoying myself very much 😊
Best route in my opinion.
It was worth playing when it came out years ago, it's still worth playing today.
Yes!
We wouldn't have this game without 3 time world series winning pitcher, Curt Schilling LoL, crazy
Very true!
Wait what? You didn’t like the legend of dead kel?? That whole saga was some of my favorite content in the game! Some really cool and interesting unique bosses and overworld enemies ( scabs, tree golems, ect )
I love the feeling of exploring old shipwrecks and finding treasure.
Idk how I missed that. Would have totally mentioned all that in my video.
How could you forget who Alyn Shir is? 😍
I'm still waiting for the sequel
We might be waiting forever sadly 😞
Man, I just start it some minutes ago, algorythm its crazy, it looks so PS3/360 era... but I guess I would give it more time...
It dropped on the PS3 and Xbox 360. It definitely has that era vibe all over it.
It a remaster of one
Hidden beauty this game
That it is!
Yes yes yes! kingdoms of amalur!! woooo!!
love this game❤
Me too!
Just in case: Re-Reckoning is verified for the Steam Deck. Have fun.
Would be a lot better if Veilguard went for a combat similar to this
I was sadly really excited for DA vielguard until about a month before release. It is a shame how that game turned out.

I'm referring to the story of oblivion.@@mathewhosier9739
It truly is an excellent game through and through. Play on hard difficult and use a mod to reduce how much gold you get by 75%, and do NOT craft. It's the ultimate solo experience this way. The only problem is that eventually you realize there's no more new enemies - just reskins.
I do feel like the enemy variety is good but definitely could be better due to noticable reskins. That challenge does sound like some good fun tho!
I originally went finesse/might but I just love going full on big damage and big swords.
@@IAmVehement I find 2h weapons and heavy armour WAY too slow. Constantly getting hit while half way through a clumsy hack is a total pain.
I kind of wish I played with more set items in my playthrough but I'm such a sucker for maxing out crafted items.
I would love to see a sequel to this game. I won't hold my breath tho but I can hope.
The first time I entered the god mode and brutally killed the enemy was the best thing ever! Too bad KoA was in the shadow of Skyrim.
I do wonder where this game would be if it had released much farther from Skyrim. It could be cope but it also could be true.
@@IAmVehement, or before Skyrim.
@@IAmVehement Oh I had no idea the remaster fixed that. Thats awesome! 😄Well then scrap all I said about the original. Haha
No worries just figured I'd let you know about the changes they made!
@@IAmVehement very much appreciated. You earned a sub from me. 😄👍🏻
Better than Veilguard
Haven't tried it but not hearing good things right now.
Will try this game after Veilguard.
Hope you end up enjoying it!
THe original was easy as fuck but the remastered edition on Steam put a new difficulty and now it feels good.
It’s the perfect game if you need a break from Skyrim and it super cheap as well. Here where I’m from it’s like £6 for the ps4 and £2.50 for the ps3.
Total steal for such a good game!
this is my favourite rpg after Skyrim and the Withcher 3
Reckoning is a great high fantasy RPG def a great Skyrim alt and I can see the wow comp art style wise.
Top 7 of all time ahahahahahahaha
Cooking that top 10 list.
Been waiting for a sale for re reckoning on steam for awhile now. I didn't want to pay $70 for it. I bought it for $24 (fatesworn edition).
Sweet deal! Hope you enjoy it 😁
The fate edition is $55 at full price, i got it on sale on PSN back in 2021 for $28
You made this game sound too good to be true. It looks like fable. If you say its up there with witcher 3. Ok im buying it on steam ill try it out.
Oh damn really? I tried them early game and thought they were pretty weak but maybe I didn't give em a fair enough shot.
@@IAmVehement If you really want to make a bow build and make the most of it (min-max'ing), I'd recommend the following:
1) Race: Varani or Dokkalfar with Belen as patron god.

Which glitch at teeth because I had a couple.
@@IAmVehement I'm stuck at confronting Anotakos. I googled and found that others faced this as well:
When facing anokatos, he freezes secandra, and once you are about to fighter him, she talks to you and your stuck in the corner and anokatos will not attack you but he will not die.
I wish I did mention in my video how walking does become quite tedious without a mount.
@IAmVehement its such a shame because if they just gave us a mount itd be one of the greatest rpgs ever made. At least before the endless running gets stale and burns you out, its a hell of an experience.
Amalur was leeeeaaagguues better than Skyrim imo. I absolutely loathe Skyrim but absolutely loved Amalur.
Re-reckoning is a fine title; what are you going on about?
I praise the game this whole video?
@ in the beginning you mention how the title is a bit cringe, that is all.
Oh I misunderstood your comment. I thought you thought I was giving the game itself a bad review.
i devoured this game back in the day. sunk 30 hours alone in the first zone. my gripe was the dungeons sucked, they were all so generic and bland. The overworld was so much better. I also got hogwarts legacy and it immediately felt similar
I haven't finished Hogwarts legacy I bought it on PS5 and my file got corrupted and I couldn't continue and lost all motivation to play it. I do agree about most of the dungeons. I actually wish I had brought that up in my video.
what's the first game in the intro? the one that rides the horse
I'm not sure which one your referring to.
Just got this on my ps3. Suck that they delisted all dlc.
Oh damn I didn't know they delisted the dlc. I really wish these companies would start caring about preservation.
I’d like to try but it’s full price rn
It goes on sale a ton so I'd just give it time if your on steam id wishlist it to get notified when it hits sale. Even on console it hits sales super often.
What are your top 7 games of all time?
This is really tough but I'll give you 5 of my most favorite games not in any specific order
Ni no kuni 2
Koa reckoning
Zelda ocarina of time
witcher 3
Metal gear solid 1 and 3 equally
@ Lies of P
Zelda and the ocarina of time
Sekiro
Pokemon SoulSilver
God of War 2018
Wait, sooooo, I’ve played about 50 hours of Ni No Kuni Wrath of the white witch remastered and was having fun and not even halfway through!
Would you consider re- reckoning the better version of the game?
I would but I'm going based off of only playing it on 360 back in 2015-16. I like the slightly cleaned up graphics and the additions they have made.
@IAmVehement ahh ok thanks because i have it on ps3 and i was wondering if it was worth getting the remaster
I think it's worth picking it up for the better frame rate and some of the combat tweaks and they added better level scaling and a bunch more stuff.
I started this game and was like "nope". felt too hack and slashy. The production value is high but they tried to stuff too many features into the game.
I mean if we're talking about dumb remake names, let's not forget Darksiders Warmastered Edition
Oh yea that was pretty terrible the Darksiders 2 deathinitive edition was laughable as well.
Personally I prefer Amalur over Dragon's Dogma but I think it's unfair to compare it to Elden Ring
You just described Dragons Dogma buddy. Incredibly generic dark fantasy with a story that isn’t even worth mentioning. Fantasy tropes like talking dragons, generic fantasy monsters.
I love KoA. Hated the VERY repetitive Souls games.
Games was killed by difficulty setting.
How so?
@@IAmVehement Everything is about how much mechanics in game you need to use.

You say there are story spoilers, but you don't specify where to skip to to avoid them. At least put in time-stamps jesus
My bad. I really should of time stamped it.
@IAmVehement thank you
I reinstalled this recently, and NOPE, mechanically it barely stands up.
Witcher 3 and AC odyssey doesn't belong in the same sentence
They aren't in the same league but for me I like them both in my top 10. Hence me saying they are incredible games. Witcher 3 is a 10 but I feel like a odyssey is a 9 but they are very different games.
