guys… he might be using a GTX 1080… that’s a severely outdated card. Idk tho I just checked the description and saw the 1080 was linked. I use a 1060 and my game looks amazing too, assetto corsa is so great that you can get graphics that look better than most other sims and games on outdated low end hardware.
My most used car in AC is an FD2 Civic, the closest I could find to my FA5. Way more fun to drive than the hypercars I'll never own, and that much more special.
SIM racing is my hobby. It's the one thing I've kept away from my work, and made sure it was never a chore. And a couple of years ago I was working 3 jobs 7 days a week including most evenings. It disappeared from my life and I lost that enjoyment and escapism.... Until I worked at Thruxton for one of my jobs and I was shooting photos while Tiff Needle was sliding an M4 around. And I went home, tired and a bit burnt out (Obviously it was a good experience but life was mad). And I jumped back onto the SIM after months, got the M4 and Thruxton and started sending it. And the spark was back, it helped me take life slightly less seriously and got my hobby and escape to re-enter my life. Relatable content is what brings me back every time. And makes it all that more special. Amazing video sir
What a refreshing, unexpected narrative. I'm actually surprised and quite pleased to discover that the sim version of any car does an accurate job of replicating its real counterpart. I assumed there would be a significant rift between the real car and the sim. I'm not yet in a position to be able to test this with a BMW F32 as my daily driver, however my having been bitten by the auto bug lately, has me fixin to sell my BMW to get a Corvette C6, which I'm certain is represented in AC. I imagine it's neat to experience a car that you are quite familiar with being pushed beyond the limits for which you would be willing to push it in real life!
This is the first video I have seen from this channel and so when I recognised this exact corner (1:03) I was pretty surprised to find we enjoy driving the same roads lmao
i am so happy to find someone that likes assetto corsa AND has a z4 just like i do. Mine is only a 2.5i but in merlot red with beige interior and under 100k km. built in 2003
Slow cars in sims can be brutal, especially when you’re used to feeling the sense of speed 25+ year old shitboxes are great at conveying. The lack of g-forces and squeaks and rattles initially made the NA Miata feel foreign to me. After some time of getting more used to Sims, I’ve begun to enjoy it a lot more. I definitely feel like it’s given me a greater grasp on how I can expect the car to react at the limit in a broader range of scenarios than what my local backroad provides. The one that comes with AC isn’t quite the same as mine, as mine is a 1.8l with ABS and a Torsen LSD, but it’s still an NA and for that I love it.
I wasnt expecting something so wholesome, I get what you mean though, my local track is Anglesey and though its very far from me and I've not visited it yet I know that its right there, just a bus ride away and when i get the chance I love to drive it on AC.
it’s so impressive that humans are able to almost perfectly recreate physics, in a video game, it’ll never cease to amaze me how much we figured out in the last 20 or so years
This is true the emotinal aspect of driving makes it so much better and calmer when i am in an evo 3 (even on keyboard) I feel like i am in control and the car responds to me properly
the best thing to do Is to create your own car from scratch or to modify It to have the closest thing to your dream dayly driver or dream car. I know It's really hard to do that but It's makes It even more enjoyable to find and feel more and more your car as you make your way to the finished car like I'm currently doing
Some mad lad has created our local race tracks and using downloable cars and software to edit power curves you can really create your own car. This for me is why AC is the king of Simulators
I have the same feelings. I often do time attacks on some touge stages with an Audi TT mk1. unfortunately I haven't found a 1.8T engine version mod, but driving feels similar enough. It's funny how it sucks at high speed downhill corners, but absolutely rules at low speed uphill hairpins because of it's disgusting nose heavy weight distribution.
Can you turn the boost down to get it close to your 1.8T? I drive an NA s2k with a bunch of suspension work, and the closest feeling s2k mod to my irl car has a turbo, so I just set it to 0 and the acceleration is pretty similar.
@@Jakefkyah The mod that I use is a 3.2 VR6 NA engine verion, so I can't turn of the boost. It has only slightly more power and weights much more so the acceleration is almost identical. The main difference is how it deliveres power and that it has even worse weight distribution than 1.8T
@@szymonsotys3039 You can always edit the files of the mod, not to hard to change the engine power outputs, and power curves, just any text editor can do it.
Everything about this video is so true I got a 99 non vtec 180i (B18) civic sedan and in game...almost everything about it is questionable, but it is relatable...even though the steering wheel is also the wrong hand drive.
I literally spend loads of my time on AC hot lapping Donington Park in the Mugen EK Civic for this exact reason! It impressive how realistic both the track and car are. I've noticed things in the sim that I've then gone on to notice in real life. For example don't lift going through Craners. Fun in the sim, terrifying when you're pride and joy is on the lockstops at 110mph 😂
I have an NC2 Miata and have put a bunch of time into the NC1 mod in Assetto. I definitely miss the extra 700 revs my car has, and I feel the back end in the mod steps out too easily under power and is slightly too stable under braking. But overall, I've had a blast setting touge times in it, and it's very satisfying to see just what a BEAST it is on the downhill.
You said the handling was a bit floaty, have you lowered the steering assist? That helps add more feedback. You might want to hit the minus button if your wheel clips to reduce FFB. But overall steering assist helps with road feel etc
My favourite Assetto Corsa experience so far has been driving my Ek9 around Mondello park, just like i did in real life. Awful lot cheaper doing laps in sim.
i think racing games could really use some way of making cars genuinely feel real and yours. it really annoys me how in forza horizon for example all the cars seem more like perfect concepts or representations of a car rather than actual machines that you own and drive, that can break, get dirty and worn, etcetera. i'd really like it if games started to integrate things like permanent damage and stuff. would make the cars feel more real. and also not making them all easily accessible an hour into the game. when you have enough funds to buy 10 cars at any time, purchasing a car doesn't feel special or meaningful
It's why I love drifting in Beam. All the little dents and missing bumpers definitely make the car feel like yours, even if it's for a few minutes before you totally write it off and have to start over.
@@TSRB fr legends (a mobile game) actually does something pretty similar. your car gets permanently damaged and you can see the missing body parts on the floor in the garage and you can either repair it or just tape the banged up parts back on LOL it's such a cool mechanic

This also goes for other things. Like I find it very hard to find any merch for the VA WRX. Shirts? Pants? Any clothing? Good luck Not to mention stuff like model toys Like WHY DO THEY HAVE A MODEL OF THE NEW BRZ BUT NOT THE VA WRX😭
I’ve been trying to find a nice BB1 prelude in the blue/green I own but everyone seems to want to put some aftermarket wheels and loud colors on it and it just ain’t right to me
Kind of amazing. I want this mod. It would probably mean a lot to me as well considering the BMW Z4 GT3 is what I spent a lot of time training in with this game. I unlearned a lot of need for speed-esque overdriving in the GT3 car. I wonder what the street version is like.

haha, i have a Z4 e85 roadster as well and am trying to get this thing to work in AC! Where did u download it? I've found one file but it says LOD.ini is missing or something like that. PS: I'm new to this AC mod stuff :')
Is it me or this car is very punishing in terms of improper weight transfer? Like the car would spin out pretty hard if I trail brake improperly. It’s great to learn weight transfer due to that though
i'd love to try this, but having only got my irl lisence relatively recently, i don't think the only two vehicles i've driven have been modded in to many games accurately..though if anyone knows a good mod for a 2011 ford ranger with a cap on the back or a barely functional '05 camry, do let me know.
