Oi mate, just ordered me a SIDI OTR CAI for my 3.6L Caprice PPV! I’m Stateside but I love this Aussie community and your cars. Boy are parts hard to get over here though
Nice one mate! Really appreciate your support in watching the videos. Hope it all goes well. Just keep in mind there is about a 50% chance that I might turn the engine light on after you install it. If it does, it will throw a code for lean mixture at idle. It’s not the end of the world of that happens
It’s restricted by the tape in the loom. So you can just untape it back to where it’s run up into the factory loom, and then you will have enough length. Then just retape the loom
Some throw a code and some don’t. This particular one was fine for around 10,000 km but then there a maf code, and mixture lean code. Soo the customer has the time done. Big have can be had with these mods and a tune
Have you had any issues with the Orssom intakes? I was thinking of getting a VCM one and just modifying it to fit on the ltt engine as they seem to be a bit better quality?
@@cassarindustries_wheelwerk Thanks, do they get enough air though? Because they seem to just sit on top of the radiator as opposed to actually going over it.
The get more air than the stock air box does mate. It draws air from over the top of the radiator (OTR mean over the radiator) and gets fresh air from behind the grille essentially
Nah mate we didnt. Our instructions didn’t mention anything about it though…. But either way there’s still heaps of air flow getting to it so didn’t bother
On this particular one, no. But I have had them in the past where I have fitted these, and after awhile, they do put the engine light on and throw a card for the fuel mixture correlation. If that’s the case, then you will need to get it tuned if you don’t want to put up with the engine light coming on
Can’t see why not mate. Still maintains the same sensors and meters the vehicle did from the factory. But always better to check with your states local transport office
Cheapest mods there aren’t a heck of a lot. Intake, full exhaust, and a tune will really transform it. Other than that changing your diff gears to a high ratio will really wake the thing up and make it get off the line heaps quicker
@satisfactory3368 quite a few variables to consider there mate, but hard to quite. Depending on what intake, what exhaust you wants, if you want diff gears or not, be around 3k to 6k
All mild steel systems sounds similar to that when first installed. I’ve fitted mild steel xforce and it’s pretty similar. After a a few hundred km the exhaust sound changes quite a lot.
Get rid of the hotdogs they always sound shit replace with a normal bafler they don't get any better splatery at the top end sound like every exhaust ive ever heard on one of these sound shit as
Cheers brother much appreciated for all the work you do
Always a pleasure bro
This is just what the doctor ordered...as you know i gotta do the tailshaft in my misses car, good to see what im up against up under there
great video, informative and entertaining, keep it up
Thanks legend

Hey mate loved the video 👍 how’s that exhaust sound now that it’s settled in? And have any further mods been added?
Exhaust sound’s completely different now. Had a bit of carbon build up now and sounds much deeper and less farty.
No more mods since this video
If I understand correctly, the MAF cord IS long enough, just restricted by the tube?
It’s restricted by the tape in the loom. So you can just untape it back to where it’s run up into the factory loom, and then you will have enough length. Then just retape the loom
Did you re tune the engine ecu to match the changes?
Any MAF Fault Codes.?

It’s the third one I have fitted and have not had any issues. They seem to be of good quality and like the vcm intakes, they also have a k&n filter
@@cassarindustries_wheelwerk Thanks, do they get enough air though? Because they seem to just sit on top of the radiator as opposed to actually going over it.

hey mate what brand cat back exhaust was that . like was it from online or from a local shop sent to you ? i dont think i heard you say the brand
Hey mate. Dea performance available through Dandenong exhausts
Did you cut or remove the bonnet seal like the instructions show? It doesn’t look like it from the last clip
Nah mate we didnt. Our instructions didn’t mention anything about it though…. But either way there’s still heaps of air flow getting to it so didn’t bother
@@cassarindustries_wheelwerk no worries mate cheers for the fast reply 🤙
Hey mate will that otr fit on a ve v6 omega commodore? Cheers
It will but there’s a slightly different one for a 3.0lt
Hey mate, how do you take off/move the positive terminal to lift the airbox?
There’s a little tab at the back of it that you need to pry across with a small flat blade screwdriver. Then you can lift it ip
@@cassarindustries_wheelwerk Thanks
Did it need a tune after installing the OTR ?

Do you need to tune it after you done the mods?
No necessary, but definitely recommended.
Some cars will throw the engine light on after doing the intake, but some don’t
Hey mate where did you get the intake from
Orsom intakes. Check em out online and they also have an eBay store
Mate where did you get the wheels
Non idea sorry. They were already on the car when my mate bought it
Can I put this on my p plates I got a vf sv6?
Can’t see why not mate. Still maintains the same sensors and meters the vehicle did from the factory.

@@cassarindustries_wheelwerk alright thanks
Hey mate has this got the LFX motor or the LLT
Pretty sure it’s LLT. I think LFX is in the VF
@@cassarindustries_wheelwerk lfx was in s2 VE's & WM's from 2011
Hi, where you guys located and what's the total cost on these
Hi matey we are in east Gippsland Victoria.
Supply and fit is $690
@@cassarindustries_wheelwerk can i get your phone number please
What other cheapish mods can be done to a sv6 ve like this one ?

@satisfactory3368 lol, yes

He didn't even weld it good ahaha
Can’t all be good welders I guess
if water gets in the otr bye bye engine
their not expensive oxy sensors on ebay
It’s not the oxygen sensors that’s the issue. The engine will physically run lean at idle, throwing a code for lean mixtures at the O2 sensors
That's sounds sooo bad for a 2.5 inch catback sounds cheap...... maybe xforce would of been the way to go
All mild steel systems sounds similar to that when first installed. I’ve fitted mild steel xforce and it’s pretty similar. After a a few hundred km the exhaust sound changes quite a lot.

It really did at the start! But once it got a bit of carbon buildup in the Exhaust, it actually wasn’t that bad
