What is wrong with the 43 people who disliked this video??? This video gives you exactly what is advertised in the title. Great video - thank you!
Hi Angela, well it's the internet, so anything is allowed! I don't take it personally ;) Thanks for the feedback
To be fair this video could've been like 30 seconds long and do the same thing.
I never comment on videos but I’m commenting right now to say it was about 2m 45 seconds longer than it needed to be
Simple, practical channels like this are the dads of the internet in the best way possible, thank you!!
You're very welcome Dasheera, really appreciate your kind words :)
This video is exactly what I needed and it shows you how to get out the hard manual key and how to open it up to get out the little round. Battery and put the new one in and tells you exactly which battery you need and this is perfection and I thank you so much!
You're very welcome Laura, thanks for the feedback :)
Thanks for this. These things usually end of being simple once you see how it is done. Otherwise it is trial and error and I am always afraid I will break something! :)
You're welcome Chris. Are you in the states?
Thanks for the video. I thought I knew how to do it, but then while I was trying I was afraid of breaking it. Your comment about the first time being difficult was spot on!
Thanks Richard :)
Thanks so much for this video. I'm old school and wish real keys were still used. You're a gem for helping so many of us.
Hi Cindy, thanks for the kind words, and really appreciate the feedback :)
omg! this is so easy! The last time I had to change it I took it to the dealer and he said - only let us change it! The dealer is over an hour away, so this saved me a wasted trip! Thank you!
Easy when you know how Deb, and a bit naughty of the dealer .......
Best damn video on the Internet of how to change this battery. This guy just gets straight down to it well done. 👍👍👍
Thanks Greg, really appreciate your kind words :)
Thank you! My sound wasn’t working, but, with the GREAT VIDEO I was able to pop it open precisely as the video shows and change out my battery.

Thank you so much! I hoping there was a video like this on UA-cam, and I’m glad there are people like you who take the time to make videos like this.

This was so helpful! Heading out the door for a trip and wanted to get it done before we left. Thank you! Thank you!!
Hi Chaz, glad you got it done before your trip. Thanks for watching and I appreciate your feedback :)
When you get handed your grandmother's fob and are asked to replace the battery, having no idea what to do.
Thanks for this, definitely a well-earned like.
She'll think you're great, well done :)
Excellent demonstration but one point to mention. The energizer 2032 batteries I bought had a tag on the positive side. Must remove that tag before installing the battery. Yes, get a good brand because cheap batteries do not last. Thanks again. God Bless !
Yes, we see plenty of 'faulty ' keys with batteries that have stickers stil attached! Thanks for the feedback :)
I was able to follow along as you were doing it. Super simple. Thank you!!

Great video. I would recommend using plastic tools but this works too.
Hi William, yes agree, there are some good plastic tools out now. Thanks for watching
Thanks, perfect and easy.
You're very welcome, I appreciate your feedback and support :)
thanks for your help
Thanks Vikas :)
What he didn't mention is: You have to do this fairly regularly. While our previous vehicles had fobs with batteries (same 2032) that lasted a lifetime, the batteries for our 'Pac' failed after 2.5 years.
But, as long as you know this, it's not a big deal. The instructions in the video, which parallel those in the owner's manual, are easy enough. Taking the battery out doesn't even need a tool -- your fingernail will do it. You don't even have to sharpen your nails that day.
I wonder why these 2032's don't last in the Chrysler fob. I think the fob must continually use a very small current, since the car must detect the fob even when no button is pressed.
Hi, yes keyless keys do need changing more often, I agree. 2.5 years is pretty good compared with Ford keys that only last a year!
Thank you!
You're welcome :)
You just made good, a short ,clear ,no unnecessary music video, thumbs up 👍
Thanks Anthony, I'm not a fan of background music all the way through either ;)
Great Video!
Thanks Tiffany :)
Thanks a lot!
You're welocme Mario :)
Thank you!! Looking this up saved me paying the dealer $80 to do it lol
Hi Ciara, $80 to change a key battery!! That's a bit naughty. Really glad it saved you some money
$80? That's shameful.
Thank you!!!!!!
You're welcome Sara, thanks for watching :)
Very helpful thanks
Thanks Debbie :)
Bless you for saying that it would feel like you're breaking it. I started trying this a little bit ago but backed off because I thought I was going to break it and then was wondering if it was something that I had to take to the dealership because Chrysler had made some silly proprietary tool or something.
Hi Bryan, yes sometimes it feels like it shouldn't open. Well done for getting it done :)
Super Thanks!
Hi Ivan, thanks for watching and glad it helped you :)
Awesome thanks
You're very welcome, thanks for watching :)
Thank you for doing this demonstration! It made changing my battery a "snap"! (No pun intended. LOL!)
Thanks for the feedback Tom :)
Thanks!
You're very welcome Rich, thanks for watching :)
Thank you
You're welcome Erika :)
Appreciate ya 🙂
You're welcome Adrianne, thanks for watching :)
Thanks! That was my problem 👍
You're welcome, really pleased it helped :)
So simple tyvm!
You're welcome, thanks for watching :)
Thanks for the excellent video! This saved me lots of time and money by avoiding a trip to the dealership!
You're welcome Karl :)
Thank you! Wow it took just 30 seconds. I saved an hour at the dealership and lotsa $$. btw I used the key to pop the battery out but I guess a knife will work. I'm just afraid it'll scratch the key fob.
Easy when you know how! Glad it helped you :)
Not sure what dealership you are used to but we change batteries for free at the parts counter... you have to provide the battery or you can buy it from us but that is about it. If any dealer is charging you for the labor I recommend upgrading dealerships
Go with any 2032 battery. Duracell's starts with DL I think. They're the same. The 20 is 20 mm diameter and the 32 is 3.2 mm height.
Thanks for that information. I wouldn't say 'any 2032 battery' . Cheap unbranded batteries leave cars stranded, because they don't have what's needed for the car to detect them. We see lots of problems with unbranded batteries.
Thanks! I couldn’t find anything in the manuals.
Hi Kathy, glad it jelped and thanks for watching :)
Vielen Dank 😊
Thanks :)
@@TheCarKeyMan gerne Grüße aus Germany 👍💪
Damn! I was just wondering how to do this!
Hope it helped Jeffery :)
This was extremely helpful, and very well presented. Thank you immensely, and may I suggest a little hand lotion for your future videos.
Hi, yes I agree, my hnds are well worked and I now only make videos when I've had a week off! Thanks for watchig :)
Great video! After replacing the battery does the fob need to be reprogrammed to the car?
No, not normally :)
Good video... thank you... just bought one and the spare key came without the battery
Glad it helped Ray and thanks for watching :)
Hey man, you ever thought of partnering with Batteries Plus Bulbs? We use your videos pretty often when it comes to those odd fobs that don't open too easily.
Hi John, tell me more about Batteries plus bulbs please
@@TheCarKeyMan Im just a small cog in the infinite machine that is batteries plus, but we supply just about every battery there is, from watches to phones, cars, gps's to key fobs, and from what I've seen, the company has partnered with other companies for instructional videos that we use in store before we do installations, we use them for our car battery installs, phone repairs, and repair queues, so I definitely think they'd be interested
Sounds interesting, I'll look them up
My friend went through a 4-pack of batteries in 2 weeks. Any chance that whole pack of batteries was bad, or is something else causing them to drain in only 2-3 days?
Hi Andrew, well there are bad batteries about, but sometimes the keys go faulty and run down the key batteries very quickly. Maybe, get one good quality battery and see what happens?
Righto!
Thanks for watching Tim :)
Maxell 2032 battery, it takes 1 per fob.
Thanks for watching :)
@@TheCarKeyMan Thank You!, For a great video!
Who possibly dislikes this?
Well it's the internet, so anything goes really! You get used to it ;) thanks for watching :)
Why in the everloving hell does Chrysler not provide this information anywhere? Not even the owner's manual. Absolutely stupid. Thank you!
I know, this is just a bit slack by Chrysler, but glad it helped you and thanks for watching :)
Use a good bat tree, roit.
Thank you
You're welcome :)
Thanks!!!
You're welcome Sylvia, thanks for watching :)
Thank you
You're welcome Hamin, thanks for watching :)
