They stopped cause some kids / chicks were getting trampled. Stand up guys, but so hardcore.
I met these guys in Winston Salem, NC close to 20 years ago after seeing them we stopped at a Waffle House on the way back and they happened to be there eating too. I was having car trouble and they helped me get my car up and running again. Top notch dudes and a memory I'll never forget.

Saw them twice in Massachusetts, at club shows where they played full sets, when they were touring in 2000/2001-they toured like crazy. It was as absolutely wild and unhinged as you’d imagine. By 2003 there were countless bands copying this sound.

Yes and no. Poison the Well and Eighteen Visions were massively influential, but bands like Botch, Coalesce, Converge, Integrity, Earth Crisis, Rorschach, Zao, Disembodied, Burnt By the Sun, Shai Hulud, Deadguy, and Kiss It Goodbye basically pioneered metallic hardcore/metalcore.
Damn, I was born the year before this and it's sad I'll never get to see them play a set like this or be the dude diving from the sky at their set. :'(

Happy Ardinto Hellfest '04 happened, there was a riot that costed a lot of money because of damage, and Hellfest '05 got cancelled because of it. There's people who claim otherwise but the evidence is out there. Its not hard to connect the dots.
@@xretroxvibex also, the insurance for the event sky rocketed. The show eventually went to europe. If you do a search you can find it. The fest has turned more into a black metal/power metal fest. Good bands never the less. Just not the hardcore show showcased in these historic videos.
