Spent the day with friends at STL zoo, having a blast just waiting to see AB. Waited at Washington U but there were only a handful of people. 30 minutes past the show start time, some concert organizer came sprinting in and with wide, teary eyes, said that the band wasn't coming and what happened. What a punch in the gut. Now 28 years later I get to see AB at Sonic Temple in Columbus. This is RAD. Thanks guys!!! Hi5 👋
I grew up in Ville Platte, but ANYWHERE I went in Louisiana in the 90s. Especially when I started working around 99. There were ALWAYS huge fans of Acid Bath. Being online since around 99. You would always come across fans from EVERYWHERE that knew Acid Bath and fucking loved them. Those albums NEVER get old. I remember driving truck across the USA and going into some store in Cali picking up Deadboy We are night sky. Just that feeling of finding that out there in Cali was awesome. Living in Milwaukee you'd see people at local shows in Acid Bath ts from time to time. Fantastic to hear they got in and it fell into place. That feeling as a musician is magic. But man oh man….how would I have loved to of heard that first, “DIEING, felt so goddamn good today”
After hearing of them for so long, I didn’t finally check them until the very start of the pandemic. Quickly became one of my favorite bands and never thought I’d get the chance them. Hopefully if they feel things go well, they’ll tour or at least play a handful of shows. Thank you for sharing this.
I've literally been a fan of this band for 2 decades and this shit make my black heart feel fucking amazing. To think I will actually have the chance to see them live is just insane.
Back in the summer I traveled from Houston to NOLA to see the Soilent Green reunion at South Port Hall and it’s time for a Acid Bath show at the same place. I’ll be there too.
I saw Acid Bath at "Main Street" in Breaux Bridge, 1994...Despondency opened for them. I was fourteen, and just getting into metal; Acid Bath was my first concert experience. Was tragic what happened to Audie, but I am beyond the moon excited to see Acid Bath back and getting their flowers. Much love from New Iberia and New Orleans!! I am so happy ya'll are back holy shit
Acid Bath is my ALL TIME FAVORITE BAND!!! Discovered them back in 99 and was the hole in my bucket list for years, thank you guys for doing Inkcarceration!! I'm driving from Pgh to see them. This is SOOO EPIC!!! Sooo good!! awwww yeahhh please please have merch🤞
Strother Martin. Also played Chong's Dad in Up In Smoke. Son. Your mother and me would like for you to cozy up to the Finkelstein boy. He's a bright kid and he's going to military school and remember he was an eagle scout... WOULD YOU SHUT UP! WE'RE NOT GONNA HAVE A FAMILY BRAWL! Anyways great sample you're talking about.
This was hilarious to watch! Mike is so chill and hilarious. It's really great to see you grow as you do these episodes to your podcast. I like how this one was free flowing and just conversational. I find myself thinking about these episodes sometimes, while I'm in my yard gardening. I still love that Willie G episode! I chuckle at the Dave Mustaine questions you asked him. You have potential Moe! Don't forget that. ☮
I always gave a shit. I have see Acid Bath more than any other band I have ever seen and I am 53 and still go to shows non stop. I was lucky enough to live in Lafayette and had access to see them all the time.
Awesome. You were blessed to live where you could see the band live all the time. I'm up in Canada and don't think the band ever played here. I was 15 in 96 anyways so couldn't really travel far back then either as I was just a kid.
this is my favorite band of all time and the only thing I can say when everyone wonders why no one listened to them when they actually started the band was that they were way fucking ahead of there time and everyone else they do not get nearly enough credit for how amazing they are but at least they have finally been getting some kind of recognition!
Kinda sickening how so much of a spotlight someone like Coal Chamber at the time got while AB got nothing. Shows the importance of a good record deal and management(Coal Chamber had Sharon Osbourne). That Roadrunner deal not happening huuuge miss for the guys.
Always loved Acid Bath. I never realized how strong Mike's accent was... 😅 Then again I'm not sure if we've ever had an actual full length conversation.
Well done Sir. This reunion is something I never thought I'd actually ever see happen. You're the perfect person to get this initial interview/podcast about the reunion. Congrats, and again well done.
I remember getting Kite String when it first came out I was thinking this band was going to be huge. Sadly I was wrong at the time, I was honestly surprised when they just fizzled out after Pagan. I’m so happy they are back together to get some of the love they deserved. I am also a little bummed they so definitively proclaimed there will be no new Acid Bath tunes…
1. I can confirm that that whole bayou area still doesn't support anyone but cover bands because they are stuck 50 years behind everyone else. 2. I don’t know why they think anyone cares. They’ll never be as famous as Nickelback. 😂 I’m sorry. I just can’t even play around like that. This is fucking DOPE AS SHIT. I really hope they tour extensively. I can’t afford any of these festivals they’re doing. Acid Bath fucking owns.
