I feel so bad for Charlie No-Face. Dude had a hard life, and was supposedly a sweet man. I mean, I can't lie and say I wouldn't be terrified if I saw that on a night drive. But he deserved better than to become a boogeyman in an urban legend
Completely agree
Being scared or startled by someone's appearance is something that happens automatically, what matters more is how you choose to treat someone. so it's a serious shame that most people chose to treat him like a monster, when they could and should have just treated him like any other man, even if his looks frightened them at first
I mean he did it for shits and giggle and for free beer. What wasn't okay, was people harassing him, and not many put up with him being treated badly. He got hurt by harassers before so the towns people made it known that was a no no. More particularly the teenagers and younger adults stuck up for him, but they were also getting him sloshed, so who knows if that was good for him.
I think that the fact he was a kind guy, with no face, who liked grain alcohol is what cemented his urban legend status
I remember reading that one man credits Robinson for helping him get over his brother's death in Vietnam. It sounds like he was a really nice guy who got dealt a shitty hand.
Yeah his story makes me wish I could be his friend
For Baba Anujka, I've heard that the women who came for her knew that the "love potions" were going to kill their husbands. They came to her for freedom from abusive marriages or ones they generally didn't want, and consented to have their husbands killed. The only reason Baba was caught was because local police forces became suspicious of what the hell was happening to cause a lot of men to die in one town, and a girl who regretted her decision snitched on Baba.
kind of like Giulia Tofana
@@andreakoroknai1071 Aaah! Aqua tofana!
they "consented to have their husbands killed" 🤔
@@cleoldbagtraallsorts3380 I just said that to myself hahaha
@@katlynlacroix5261 Bailey is the best, isn't she? 🙂
the endlings are very sad too, the little bird chirping all alone, no more of his species left oddly brought a tear to my eye

The worst part of wikipedia is that anyone can make an article
The scholars once said...
Pretty sure most of these are real the wikipedia moderation team is harsh and aggressive when it comes to misinformation
@@FoxAkimbo equal rights equal lefts?
there’s a lot of stories of gymnastics stars being forever crippled because they were forced to return to training too soon after an injury. it’s awful
Just a clarification, Moguel was shot 8-9 times in the BODY, only once in the head. Still very impressive how he survived
Yeah it was pretty risky for him to make a video about Wikipedia when its known to be unreliable with details.
@@God-yd8zh your use of "known" is completely bs
@@God-yd8zh Most pages have their sources listed at the bottom. To call it 100% unreliable just because other people can contribute the information is BS and makes you sound like a academic echo chamber. Just double-check the sources provided yourself if you're so wary.
@@God-yd8zh Go ahead an edit a wiki page with something incorrect or not sourced. Within milliseconds they’ll have it removed and have you banned. Try it!
I actually first heard of Raymond Robinson's story a long time ago in blameitonjorge's "Urban Legends that Turned Out to be True." Whenever I think about him, I feel sad for him being seen as some cryptid, a warning for children not to stay out too late, or a spectacle to gawk at, all because of one mistake from his youth that left him like that. Though I doubt he'd prefer my sad pity, and would've wanted to be either left alone or just treated as "Raymond" instead of "Charlie No-Face."
this is why it's great that nowadays we have better medical science and you can have your face reconstructed for example. I knew this story and it's perhaps the saddest of urban legends
Honestly I think it’s crazy what injuries the face can bear.
same. it’s so so shitty for people to call him “charlie no face” when his name is known
I live by where he used to walk at night, people say he was a genuinely nice guy. When I was growing up long after he passed away we didn't hear about him being a monster or anything negative, he was more of a cautionary tale to never play around electric wires and poles. Whilst part of him walking at night was because he didn't wanna be seen a big part was because he didn't wanna scare anyone, it was less about him and more about other people. There is for the most part no fear of him left in the locals from what I have heard which is a positive, there are different variations of how it happened the most popular being he was trying to get his kite. I didn't know he was widely talked about until a few years ago, it's one of those things where if an adult hears you talking badly about him you're getting yelled at. His ghost is said to still be around but he's a good ghost that people just wanna see. He and Barbra Davidson are the 2 main ghosts in the area, she likes to scare people but he just wants to chill.
@@maryleethefox8642 that's good to know. Glad he's chill even beyond the grave. Stay cool, Raymond
Charlie No-Face makes me wonder if there were other disfigured people like him who would only come out at night to avoid people and ended up becoming legendary/mythical monsters.
Seems kinda likely 🤔
When I was underweight, I rarely came out at all and people acted like I was the local cryptid even in daylight. That's just from being underweight without disfigurement. So I'm going with there are still people that fit your description.
My family's a pretty introverted family and you would often times see our doors closed making you think no one is home. I'd heard alot of children saying there are ghosts in our house for not having anyone go in or out yet the lights still go on at night or noises of me and my father having a war. It's funny lol.
In our current apartment we have a 3 meter space from gate to front door so we now have our door ajared open however if you never notice the ajared door, it's stil doubtinh if anyone lives here since all the windows are closed and curtained. Idk what's wrong with my father lol.
The mystery soda machine after it disappeared started posting lots of holiday snaps from around the world on their Facebook after going for a walk
I am not sure why but the mass extinction one was one of the more depressing ones for me. Not that the lost of human life isn't tragic or anything as many of these stories were a tad sad but the idea of awhole species vanishing is rather sad
I agree, it's a sad topic :(
The loneliness of being the last alive… sounds unbearable. Even though I prefer spending my time alone!
I heard about the Kaua'i o'o in another video, and apparently, when the last recording of one was made, the guy played back the recording to listen for himself. This caused the bird to fly to him and land on his equipment, believing his own call was another bird responding to him. It kills me inside thinking about it.
@@Account_Not_Applicable thats honestly rather depressing. I understand there intelligence is limited due to there size but for any creature to feel or even understand that level of loneliness is very sad. The pain and becoming desperate, the call the bird heard understanding it was the same gender but arriving anyways in hope of seeing another of its kind only to be disappointed by the site of human is just heartbreaking.
@@sourgreendolly7685 If I knew I was the last person alive I would be sad, if I wasn't I wouldn't be sad
man, what you said about the endling bird made me cry.
:'(
The story of Raymond Robinson (“Charlie No-Face”) is just so heartbreaking beyond belief. Imagine being lucky enough to survive a brutal accident, only for townspeople to start believing you’re some sort of subhuman creature or boogeyman. Humans are so cruel.
His story gives me flashbacks to David Lynch’s “The Elephant Man” - a biographical film about John Merrick, a severely deformed man living in England. It’s a wonderful yet tear-jerking film, I totally recommend it.
I remember watching a documentary on the BBC when I was about 9 about John Merrick (potentially the film you mentioned, it's been so long I can barely remember) that genuinely made me cry and question my faith in humanity 😥 I remember asking my mum why people were treating him so badly when he was so lovely
raymond robinson’s story is so sad. i can relate to people staring at me because i am disabled, but i can’t imagine what it was like for him
The Spahalski twins are another set of brothers who were killing independently of each other. Robert and Stephen were both jailed at different times, and released, only to kill again. Neither had knowledge of the others crimes until they were actually in the same prison.
I’ve watched several tv shows on them. Robert actually turned himself in. Stephen was bisexual, and underwent hormone therapy to appear more feminine. There was a long interview with him that was absolutely creepy.
something else really interesting about phineas gage is that we don't really know a lot about his later life. from some reports, though, its speculated that closer to his death, his condition stabilized-- he acted more 'civil' and was able to make better long-term decisions compared to when he first got injured. because of this, and due to more recent research, a lot of neurologists and psychologists hypothesis that as the brain heals from a major injury, the lost parts of the brain are made up for by the rest of the brain. phineas gage lost much of his frontal lobe, impacting his decision making, but as his brain was able to recover, it's likely that the rest of his brain started to develop the skills that were lost!
Realizing that one day there's going to be a last human is pretty existential crisis inducing...
Hopefully we discover some aliens before that to pass on our story.
@@SHDUStudios you think aliens would care about our story and not just immediately snuff out any life left on earth.
@@okyep We continue to pass on the stories of the endlings we know, so yes, aliens would as well :)
I always watch your videos late at night while I wind down and play some games or draw, excellent video as always.

If I can go back in time I would bring tea with me and share with him and listen to some stories he has I really feel sorry for Charlie
I actually live near where the chicken coop murders happened. My mother told about that story years ago, along with the boy who pretended to be that poor mother's son.
17:30 this one was sorta solved from what I understand from another video. A retired skater claimed responsibility for several similar stuff and a friend of his backed that up, I guess. Epicly later'd was the podcast and red webs recent fan theory video is where they talk about the friend.
And when Mukhina landed the Thomas salto and couldn’t get up, she said her first thought was, thank god I won’t be going to the Olympics.
This video is great! I really enjoyed the listen!
One suggestion is maybe putting a transition between stories. It can be a bit confusing when the subject suddenly changes. Maybe just a sound or a title card.
I like that Christine had the receipts to prove that Hutchins was a fake
great video fox i love going down rabbit holes on wikipedia late at night like 2-3 am it’s pretty chill
I agree about the breaks. But I love your content and narration. Okay ✅

I guess you could say that Boy Jones knew about the Panty Raid that Patrick was talking about.
He didn't miss the panty raid
really digging the new videos, not sure if it's just me but there was a bit of audio distortion/static towards the end
There is, im gonna try and fix that for the next upload
These are all so interesting but man, poor Raymond Robinson. He deserved better.
the image of the Boy Jones with his notepad reminds me of Rumplestilkin from Shrek Ever After as a kid
The soda machine was a great idea! Not only did he make money for it just being a soda machine but because it got such popularity on the internet imagine how much money that machine was making. That's a great idea
Jeremih Denton was the first republican senator of Alabama that dint was elected to finnish vacant term caused by the american civil war. Alabama was mostly dominated by the old democrats, or south democrats, at that time a very conservative faction in the democratic party.
Everytime I watch a video from you I think you and Cody Ko have to be somehow related!
I get that a fair bit, probably the best compliment I can be given hahaha
There was Aldo an Emu War in Australia in Western Australia. The Army literally had to come in and try to shoot up some emus for ruining crops in the 1930s. And the real kicker is that the Australian Army actually lost, probably because of the speed of the emus they were fighting.
I thought I was the only person born after 1980 that loves Frank Sinatra & Frankie Laine
Yeah, I love Frank Sinatra's voice, it's beautiful and oddly haunting
Lol i like how you said "younger brother" as you put up a pic of him as an old man.
Violence in Philippine karaoke bars weren't unheard of nor uncommon. My Way was just one of the popular karaoke songs at the time (iirc). So it was prolly a combination of stress, alcohol (for the stress), and (drunk/stressed) people being rude or mean.
I've caught my relatives/their friends sing My Way with our home karaoke machine (minus the alcohol) a couple of times. No pissed-off neighbors. So far.
Just going by what I've experienced back when I hung out with friends who loved karaoke nights and some local singing talent events...
There was always a group of people who were extremely judgemental when it came to certain well known songs.
For example, "Piece of my Heart" by Janis Joplin was a song I heard often during the few years I went to these places. Whenever someone sang this song and used their "pretty voice", there was always someone/people complaining; that song is meant to be sung raw; I swear some of the girls just want to show off, but pick the wrong songs to do so; do they not know what Janis' voice was like?
And so on.
Same thing happened whenever someone sang a song with Amy Lee's voice leading.
I imagine this combined with what you, OP, stated could cause violence. I think the only reason I never witnessed physical or extreme verbal fights is because the places I went to had a good security.
5:22 it won’t entirely be on one person’s shoulders, they can always archive it somewhere in a secure cabinet, or maybe engrave it on stone.
Yup I Kno about my way ..as a musician this was a story I heard on the road yrs ago..it's actually crazy bc there's apparently more deaths than that in the USA furring or rite after singing "my way"
I knew this was gonna be a good one before I even started watching (:

Guessing the deaths in space, I’m just gonna go crazy and say 1-7.
I'm surprised Phineas didn't lose any alot of his basic motor features(proper speaking and such, but perhaps he did and it's not in this video)from that train hit, it also makes sense that Phinea's became socially inept since isn't our frontal lobe our main control center for behavior and emotions?
Edit: honestly the second I heard Monkey War, I believed it. I've heard crazier things that are actually real, lol Australias military battling against Emu's and losing. Of I ever head to Australian I'm not going to offend an Emu. Lol

Didn’t Baba Anujka only give the potions to women who were being abused/did not want to be married to their husbands?
If you sang this at the karaoke or somewhere, you will be shot point blank. I knew this because my dad witness before. I am a Filipino btw.
the my way killings is very famous for zoomers and boomers here in the ph fox thankyou for covering this.
I believe Baba Yaga is based on Baba Anujka
Baba Yaga is a much older story, coming from slavic myths and folklore, so I doubt it
@@jagodadelega8130 Really? They have such a similar story and everything and are Russian entities, so I have to think that they somehow influenced eachother? Idk.
@@guydude439 Well, the first clear attestation of Baba Yaga appears around the 1750s, already much earlier than Baba Anujka was even born, but she's sometimes also listed among the slavic gods. Baba Yaga herself tho is generally a very ambiguous figure, either villainous, neutral or helpful depending on the story, and, in my opinion, she and Baba Anujka are similar only in that they feed into the popular archetype of a knowledgable old woman, a village witch, if you will. I don't think Baba Anujka was anymore influenced by Baba Yaga than any village healer who happened to live to an old age, and those were pretty common throughout Eastern Europe. That is at least until the popularisation of Christianity and prosecution of "witches" (tho I believe witch hunting came to slavic countries a bit later than the wider Europe and wasn't as common here) but even after that a lot of them persisted and continued their workings.
Sorry if this is a bit long-winded lol
baba is a shorthand for grandmother, and her legend existed way before Anujka was born.
I only know about Phineas Gage from Stranger Things lol

I dunno, I may come across a bit like the first lady, but, the birth rate is going through the floor, I think it had to happen. It's like in Asia, lots of people aren't dating or getting married and, unfortunately I think it's the only way our planet will survive and its sad. We have come to this state of affairs due to the few rather than being something that everyone has done. It's just sad that the greed of the few has overstretched our planets resources and for that we will all pay probably sooner rather than later.
