Hey Jimmy. I was just thinking. It's not so much what you make (and don't get me wrong that's always interesting), but more the way you make it. The little "tricks" you use that I find the most interesting. Like the way you cut the bottom off the barrel. I would have taken forever with a string line and a jig saw and still not have done as good a job. Your method was simple and very obvious, but I wouldn't have thought of it! And the brush in the paint pot. Simple solution to a messy problem! Thanks big fella!!
Jimmy you are my inspiration brother. 15 years military and making and creating is my therapy. I've spent many years away from home, and moving to new places. No matter where I go I can always build and create, and you have given me many tips and ideas. Thank you my friend.
I always was just a watcher, I subed like ten woodworkers and watched them for nearly half a year, but when a discovered you, I was so inspired, that i started doing some woodwork myself. Now, thanks to, you I am even saving for a table saw, my very first self bought tool.
My husband and I never get tired of watching your videos they are always entertaining and we are always learning new things from you, thank you for sharing them, and I love this barrel Table so creative an beautiful. :)
I seen two people that could making woodworking are anything else look easy. The two people is Jimmy and Norm Abrams and it make me mad because how easy they could do it. I love watching you do difference thing and how they turn out. Great Job.
You're probably the only UA-camr that makes me feel compelled to hit 'like' at the end of each video. Once I see the final product, I just can't help but think "fucking well done, that deserves a like".
his work inspirers me alot!! im 15 now and im going to high school soon and because of him i know what i want to do! ofcourse i already knew i love doing this and all but he made it sertain..
Methinks he's endorsed by Dickel not for economic reasons, but rather because they just love eachother for the fact that they tend to stamp their name everywhere. :'D
mannnnnn anytime a new Jimmy Diresta video comes out I go full screen with 1080p and pour a nice beer and just watch him do his magic. Its a nice little break in my week. Awesome work once again
I would say inspiring, but the more I watch these videos and realize how far I am from being able to think and create like you guys, it's a bit overwhelming. Great work sir. Love the simple, but very inventive method used for cutting the barrel.
Jimmy, one of your best ever IMHO. Your bandsaw work never fails to disappoint. I lost count of the skills I learned by watching this. Our generation is on the verge of building a truly beautiful civilization through projects like this and design concepts like this that will be applied on a larger scale.
Classic! No other UA-cam videos leave me with the inspiration to make like yours! The exploration of ideas and mixing of many skills and mediums mesmerize me as I'm watching waiting to see the final outcome. Thanks for your work!
It came out amazing! Usually, I'm a little ahead of you and can visualize what you have in mind but this time, it was a surprise. The proportions were perfect, the construction methods totally appropriate, and little details such as the coating/stain choices fit perfectly. I could almost smell the char when you split the barrel. I also appreciate all the work that went into making the video and getting it put together for UA-cam. There is art and there is craft, and you always seem to perfectly combine both in your projects. Thanks so much for sharing.
You have very quickly become my favorite maker. You never tire of finding ways to use a tool that I would have never thought about. I particularly like it when you use more primitive tools. Very nice, I have built my own meager workshop due to your inspiration.
ANOTHER MILLION DOLLAR PIECE By Jimmy!! Truly awesome man thanks for what you do by showing us n all that you've done. Best of luck on the new building u got;)
About to pass out, got a notification on my tablet regarding new video update by JimmyD, this definitely takes precedence, thanks for the great videos.
Yeah that's why I like watching these videos teaches you a lot of new tricks I would have probably ended up trying to cut the barrel in half with a skill saw.
I always look forward to your creativity. Nice job Jimmy thanks for sharing. I really like the way you make your videos. For me I look forward to learning from UA-cam videos. I don't need to be entertained with music I don't like, and antics to make the video interesting. I really love your video. Keep up the good work.
Jimmy, I have learned so much from your vids! Not only techniques but inspiration to get out to the shop and make something. I sincerely thank you for that!! :)
Christ -- there are so many clamps in-frame at one point, my teeth started to hurt. It was like a subconscious reminder of the palate expander I had as a kid before I got braces. This was awesome -- gonna have to go get some aspirin.
I would have done the same thing you did when you separated the top part of the barrel from the bottom Mmmm! Warm roasted oak with a hint of warm whiskey. Delicious!
I love watching your videos have shown them to lots of people and shared on facebook as find watching these so relaxing and interesting. Much better than the rubbish on TV x

I have this exact thought in every single video, and I always get pissed off because I never thought of it myself.

Yea, definitely agree. His years of experiences gives him those good techniques.

David Thank you for the love and support !!
Thank you for not talking or adding music to your videos. I LOVE just hearing the sound of your tools and machinery. Great stuff!
Jimmy you are my inspiration brother. 15 years military and making and creating is my therapy. I've spent many years away from home, and moving to new places. No matter where I go I can always build and create, and you have given me many tips and ideas. Thank you my friend.
The trick with the stain brush stored inside the can is genius. I throw away so many dry brushes! LOL. Thanks!.
I always was just a watcher, I subed like ten woodworkers and watched them for nearly half a year, but when a discovered you, I was so inspired, that i started doing some woodwork myself. Now, thanks to, you I am even saving for a table saw, my very first self bought tool.
Are you ever as impressed by one thing you build, as we are everything you build?? I love to watch you work as much as I love the final product.
My husband and I never get tired of watching your videos they are always entertaining and we are always learning new things from you, thank you for sharing them, and I love this barrel Table so creative an beautiful. :)
For things like the "half brush inside the paint can" is that DiResta is the best!
The Brush cut and left in the Can... Totally Genius.. ANd Awesome build as always..
That circular plate from tabletop to tree trunk is sheer GENIUS!
the brush in the paint pot, oh jimmy you always teach me a new little trick. Thanks for all.
So THAT'S how you cut a barrel- flat, straight and plumb! Genius!
I seen two people that could making woodworking are anything else look easy. The two people is Jimmy and Norm Abrams and it make me mad because how easy they could do it. I love watching you do difference thing and how they turn out. Great Job.
That brush inside the paint very good idea. Awesome table. Thanks.
And that's why you are still the king ... AWESOME!

Very cool! Really enjoyed how you sunk the feet into the log. Makes them look more like they were grown from the log.

I would say inspiring, but the more I watch these videos and realize how far I am from being able to think and create like you guys, it's a bit overwhelming. Great work sir. Love the simple, but very inventive method used for cutting the barrel.

That big hand saw! Awesome ha, ha!
I wonder if it had a rip tooth though now that I think of it. It looked super cool but actually didn't appear to cut really efficiently.
Great idea with the half paint brush kept in the varnish tin ! I will use this idea Jimmy, Kudos
mr diresta ud siempre me sorprende. estoy siplemente fascinado con sus trabajos. Felicitaciones
The handless brush kept in the can is second only in brilliance to the use of a vise grip as a handle!
It came out amazing! Usually, I'm a little ahead of you and can visualize what you have in mind but this time, it was a surprise. You have very quickly become my favorite maker. You never tire of finding ways to use a tool that I would have never thought about. I particularly like it when you use more primitive tools. Very nice, I have built my own meager workshop due to your inspiration.
