the thing about you Mr. DiResta, is that you give such valuable tricks and shortcuts. Even for a guy who's been in the business for over 40 years. your methods of building are bright, thoughtful, and relevant.
After watching the video advert i was still skeptical. But when i finally downloaded the plans ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxZF0EMnrujZvqHhGkxiz559uIABJWR9TG i was very impressed. The whole plan was just as you said in the video. Thank you very much. I now have a large and valuable collection for my woodworks. This is great!
The number of tips in this video are incredible. I have to watch it over a few more times to get everything memorized. I especially liked the hinge tricks. Thanks Jimmy for sharing!!!!
I can't even comment properly... This build was really interesting, but the filming itself is also so fascinating! Just filled with little snippets of "see what I did there?" Brilliant work!
I love this project in how simple it is but how functional. I really appreciate that the entire thing is almost all plywood, gives me a potential garage organization project.
The jig for mounting the hinges was excellent, I don't know how many times I have tried to mount hinges and the inside of the cabinet looks like a dartboard with the amount of holes I drill, so thank you for that
Triplets! I like that butcher block top. Just toured a kindergarten through 5th grade maker lab yesterday... Butcher block everywhere. So cool that they are starting that early!
You did an awesome job and I very much enjoyed seeing your work! I'll visit again. I started designing and building cabinets in 1968, "over the hill now"....lol Thanks for the video. ....13
This would make an awesome kitchen island too! Cutting a square opening in the top and using the cut-out as a cover, you could put a waste-can under the cover for when you are chopping fruits and veggies!
That pocket hinge template was genius. I use those to tilt control panels away from the monitors on my arcades and they are hard to measure/install in a 4" deep box. Gonna give that method a try....although I use the hinges exactly opposite of their intended use. Genius.
Dude, two videos in one day. Can't handle the awesomeness of these videos. It's like watching Bob Ross create amazing paintings from basic shapes. Just as relaxing too.!
Jimmy, You have no idea how badly I needed this today. I get this and a Make video, that is awesome. I've had the worse day at work today to the point I just want to quit. But I take my lunch watch these videos and instantly I'm in far better spirits and mood. I know that doesn't make sense to you but It makes me feel better to know that I can still watch and be inspired to want to do more and know that This black hole of BS isn't permanent.
Wonderful work, as always. I show my dad these and he get a kick out of them. He loves it when people make their own things, be it a work station or a big ass knife.
Nice job, Jimmy. Since you are using the Häfele lock you should also look at their automatic double door catch, 245.58.754. It automatically latches the left door whenever you close the right and automatically unlocks the left when you open the right, or vice versa. They come unhanded and can be used at the top, bottom or even at the mid point if you have a tall door. Scott
WOW.... Love this jimmy... Really liked all the drawer shots of the locking..... Learned a lot of little tricks in the video for my coffee bar I am working on. Ty. - Brian
Everything seems perfect as always, except those little metal lock pieces seem like something you'd hit the back of your hand on all the time until you rage flip the desk and realize.... "Damn. Jimmy builds one sturdy ass desk.. I just fought a desk.. and lost." and rethink your manliness. hmmh. Great desk, awesome jigs and clever workarounds. Same as always, very comforting for people terrified of change like me.
NICE! Thanks for sharing the skills, the process, and the entertainment. I love being able to spend a few minutes watching a video and walk away with something I could use for the rest of my life. Thanks for the education. God bless.
Why I love Diresta Videos, almost every one there's that point where I'm thinking "Jimmy, what in the heck are you do.... HOLY COW! I would have never thought to do X that way!"
I noticed you used the Kreg pocket hole jig with dust collection. Many people don't bother with dust collection on this jig, but Kreg recommends it because it lengthens the life of the step drill bit that comes with the jig. Nice job as usual Jimmy!
I Love your video editing and have even noticed how other channels similar to yours have started using your techniques. Keep up the great work cause you're awesome
I can't believe you can eyeball the drawer handle positions like that, I've built more cabinets than I can count and I still have to use a template. Oh and don't even get me started with the blue tape latch positioning trick - that is amazing. Great work.
Ooh, black laminate edge trim covering the plywood edges. I think that would look amazing. I'll be making one this weekend for my shop and suspend it 10 inches with french cleats and have bolt on casters for outside the shop. Tired of sweeping around the legs of my other tables. I need to hide my tools, my neighbor keeps looking at my tools like he's shopping. He's an awesome neighbor. very competitive landscaping-wise, but I always have to ASK for my tools back. Thanks for the "HOW TO"!
Jimmy, you're a genius !! Surely I have seen all your videos and I'm in love with the art you produce .. Keep it up you're on track. A hug from Portugal.
wow Jimmy, i thought it was awesome with the tabs to pull the drawers out, but then you blew my mind with the hinge jig....keep up the great work Jimmy.
dear Jimmy, great thanks to u here from Iraq, u become great inspiration for me here, it's not easy to share your knoledge with us. wish u the best man and our regards to u and ure family

Brilliant work!
What great looking workstation! The way you mounted those door hinges...briliant! Love your videos, love your work. Thank you, thank you thank you.
I love this project in how simple it is but how functional. I really appreciate that the entire thing is almost all plywood, gives me a potential garage organization project.
Honestly I never get tired of watching your videos +Jimmydiresta Now I have the company of my 7yr old daughter. Just incredible skill and work.
I loved how the were installed doors, hinges and locks on the door. Very convenient and easy. Thank you for the wonderful idea!
Killer project! I got a lot of joy watching the bolt locking shot inside the drawer.
It's the speed & accuracy that captivates me: fruits of a lot of practice, so helpful & cheering that you share so much.
The jig for mounting the hinges was excellent, I don't know how many times I have tried to mount hinges and the inside of the cabinet looks like a dartboard with the amount of holes I drill, so thank you for that
Хорошее решение по креплению дверей на стол. С узкой планкой установил петли, затем легко установил сами двери. Легко и быстро. Молодец Джимми!
Just an awesome video! The door hinge jig was a stroke of brilliance!
Only Jimmy can "eyeball" handles like boss and put it dead center every time!
You never fail to impress. Especially with stapling the leather straps or whatever it was to the drawers to open them back up.
I love the simplicity. The left side overhang seemed to be calling out for a Record woodworker's vice. Thanks for the videos!
Loved the build, hinge jig: so simple and completely brilliant!
thank you !
Triplets! I like that butcher block top. Just toured a kindergarten through 5th grade maker lab yesterday... Butcher block everywhere. So cool that they are starting that early!
The jig for the hinges on the cabinet door. That's flat out brilliant. I'm going to have to try that next time instead of wasting plywood
The simple camera positions you do like putting it inside the drawer when you locked really makes it cooler to watch. Nice work man
Bruno Salvatico thank you !!
You did an awesome job and I very much enjoyed seeing your work! I'll visit again.
I started designing and building cabinets in 1968, "over the hill now"....lol
Thanks for the video.

Your vids are awesome. I'm also a nyc Union Capenter and its a pleasure watching you work and learn your tricks. Don't ever stop making vids.
I love some of the little tricks you use to handle things. I learn a lot from you Jimmy. Thanks.
Loved the trick you used hanging the doors! Very clever!
Awesome! Reminds me of the furniture in chemistry class. Just needs a bunsen burner.
That pocket hinge template was genius. I use those to tilt control panels away from the monitors on my arcades and they are hard to measure/install in a 4" deep box. Gonna give that method a try....although I use the hinges exactly opposite of their intended use. Genius.
classic DiResta shop dungeon build!! The shots were awesome!!
Fantastic trio to make up a mobile workshop!
Love how you set up the hinged doors. Makes them level and even when installed. Good idea.
The amount of things I learned in this video is insane!
Dude, two videos in one day. Can't handle the awesomeness of these videos. It's like watching Bob Ross create amazing paintings from basic shapes. Just as relaxing too.!

Another excellent build! Nice use of the ice pick at 4:27 and great tip for the jig at 7:41-:03 to mount the hinges
It amazes me that you are putting the camera inside and using your phone to see the fit from inside.... awesome!!!!!

Excellent method for working with Euro hinges! Thanks for sharing Jimmy!
Too nice to use! I would not want to get that bench dirty! Very cool series!
i love the way you mounted those hinges! I'm totally going to use that method on my next cabinet build.
Everything seems perfect as always, except those little metal lock pieces seem like something you'd hit the back of your hand on all the time until you rage flip the desk and realize.... "Damn. Jimmy builds one sturdy ass desk.. I just fought a desk.. and lost." and rethink your manliness.
