I just remember hearing a pastor say on the radio, "You don't bring carnal people into the Church by carnal means." It's always stuck with me. I stopped listening to Mike Todd a long time ago. The focus is no longer on the Word and God. Its sad.

Father God, I thank you for Dominic. Thank you for the calling over his life and the work you’re doing in him. I come against the spirit of lust in Jesus’ name. I bind every sinful, demonic thought that is trying to torment Dominic. Father I thank you that with every temptation, there is always a way out. I pray that your servant Dominic will continue to flee from sexual immorality. I thank you for his freedom, and the renewal of his mind. Thank you that we are no longer slaves to sin through Christ Jesus. So Father I pray that you will help Dominic break every habit and tendency from his old, sinful nature. I pray a hedge of protection over his mind, that satan and his demons will not be able to gain a stronghold. I pray that his mind will continue to be a dwelling place for your Holy Spirit Father God. Continue to strengthen Dominic today. I thank you again for his freedom, and I pray that it will manifest today. In Jesus’ mighty name, Amen.

I used to have a friend who's a female who's in college in Tulsa, OK and she goes to his church but I didn't know where her faith was going on in her life. All I can say is read your Bible, know the context, and not be involved in culture where twists the gospel. That's why I had to research on false teachers to not fall into that trap of prosperity and word of faith. I never followed Mike Todd as a pastor and his church but it's sad that it's mostly for fame and money.

@@allamericanaviator2674 You have to understand that there is no hate toward anyone who is either a part of this teaching or part of the community that is seeking truth, but once you study the word with the help of the holy spirit, you start to discern that these pastors butcher the word and the sad part is that they prey on the feelings of people who are either new to the walk with christ or are looking for God. The main purpose of the gospel is to preach christ crucified for our sins, we acknowledge his love, repent from our sins and then in turn grow with him by studying his words and spreading the good news and in doing that we suffer for the glory of christ which will be revealed in judgement and for eternity. It's not all about health and wealth, it's a hard narrow road and that's why we pray for biblical truth for all

Pre-covid, this guy called God "sexy" in one of his sermons (if you can even call it that). Mike has been a red flag from the very beginning. The problem is, people lack discernment. People spend most of their time seeking an ideal pastor, instead of opening up a Bible and seeking the Father. There is but one mediator/propitiator/reconciler between man and the Father, and that is the Son of God, not another man. From the beginning, it was even his flashy suits and golden jewelery that gave him away. He posted and captioned, "do not store up treasures on the earth", but the post was him with a 2-inch-thick gold chain around his neck. This was right before he attempted to make a clothing line and sell shoes by pair for something over $1k. These people give themselves away, we just need to pay attention and not be swept up by a sweet word enshrouded by many delusions. And about tithing, oh boy, let's not go that route! 🤦🏽‍♂️

glad someone else is saying this, in my church we've had a worship leader sing for about a year and he came in people take pictures of him singing and he wasn't even the worship pastor who leads lol. It was cringe and you could decern the attitude he had and it was prideful and about him, he ended up saying some bad things to some church leaders and took his family and left because the church wouldn't worship him. You make a sensible conclusion because you listen to what God is saying to you. People need to have fear of God and respect and God's mighty grace to allow them to honor him, I'm sick of the pandering to the world trying to make the narrow gate wider. All can fit through the gate but you have to have Christ, any gate being altered and widened will not lead to the fathers house. Much love for everyone and God bless, remember to honor the lord in all you do and ask him to help you to honor him, and in turn God will acknowledge you.

I've always found it somewhat weird when a church does an Easter play/production and goes completely off-script when the Bible is literally right there. That is the script.
My church does a dramatisation every year using the youth group to play the different characters and as much as I know what's going to happen, I always look forward to it every year. The only changes made to the script will be for example using the slang word in my language for "money" when referring to the 30 silver coins, small things like that. But everything else would be verbatim from the Bible.
I feel like incidents like this is trying to fix something that's not broken. Probably why it's so cringe. Let's just stick to the basics man, and in that we keep the real focus and attention on what Easter is about.

I ended up turning it off. It’s not for me. But I also don’t like to watch the Grammy’s or the half time show for Super Bowl. Church isn’t a production. Normally Mike Todd preaches straight from the Bible. He does things differently than most churches. He’s gangster for sure and tries to show that he needs Jesus just like we all do. I’m curious to see his sermon on Sunday. I know he’s gotten a ton of criticism. We need to remember who we worship. Not our pastor, not a well known speaker, not the pope. We worship God. We worship Jesus. Sadly I have a local church that basically steals money for the pastor to live high on the hog. He mistreats his family. But still people go to that church and hear him preach. I pray for God to turn his heart back to the truth. None of us know when we will die. It’s so important to live a right life and to repent of our sins. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

But even so, whenever his posts popped up on my feed, I slowly lost interest in them. I stopped reading them over time. I don’t exactly have a reason why, but if I had to pick something, it boils down to that it felt self centered. And that’s kind of what this church service makes me think of: the glorifying of self. Instead of maintaining and growing the people they had, it felt like they just wanted to entertain big crowds. It’s not about the size of the church, it’s about the heart. Unfortunately as some churches gain quantity they lose their quality.

I like the story of Martyn Lloyd-Jones, when he first took a preaching role in a small church in Wales that was doing what you're describing. The chuch was built such that the pulpit could be moved off to the side for plays and what not, and his first act as pastor was to nail the pulpit to the floor and then fire the drama team. He was making a point that what was going to draw people in was the pure preaching of the word, and God blessed his efforts so much that within a few years of his preaching that church needed to build a new church building. These churches don't trust God enough to build His church in the way that He has prescribed, and as a result people aren't getting saved.

Maybe part of the problem is that as churches grow numerically they also get richer financially, and over time that can become addictive.
Then by using special effects and pushing biblical boundaries, they create an atmosphere of experience over Truth, which can lead to spiritual deception.
I can see churches like this becoming increasingly satanic, and that's serious, as people like Mike Todd and Carl Lenz will incur judgement...

I watched the whole thing, and it would have been amazing if they had just stuck to the Bible. The final scene when Jesus resurrected was beautiful, and that's all they needed. They added a lot of extra things purely for entertainment. Some of the scenes were unbiblical. For example, there's a scene where Satan(called the dragon) and Jesus(called the Prince) had a sword fight to save humanity( represented by a Princess). In the scene, Satan kills Jesus. Then we see him on the cross. That completely goes against the Bible. There were more scenes in hell with Satan than there were with Jesus. It unfortunately wasn't Christ centered at all.

They act like they're up there to teach their lessons not God's. It seems narcissistic to me. Forgive me y'all. I'm still new to all this. I don't mean disrespect, but these kinds of churches are part of the reason I kept saying I'm spiritual and not religious all last year. Obviously I got over my own self, I just am glad to know there are folks like you and Mike Winger out there. Y'all literally got me to church. Sundays the big baptism day!!! I'm so excited. Like Delmar when the preacher done warshed away his sins!!!!

The problem is this.. a lot of churches today want to reach us younger crowd which is amazing! But the thing I am seeing a lot is churches trying to sell us entertainment rather than showing us truth. With the fact that our attention span has been burned out and shortened in the social media age we’ll just pick up one interesting and leave it quickly to the next; that’s my concern here. But if you show us the truth, that genuine love and joy will stay with us forever and we wouldn’t have to keep searching for the next trendy thing.

Glorifying God is about focusing all of our attention on Him and His glory, not our own. We can easily lose sight of the goal and get distracted but at the end of the day we have to ask if what we are doing is holy, if it is making a place where God would not be ashamed to dwell. Otherwise, I think we're in trouble.

Since the clergy and priests are literally all reading the same old and New Testament and gospel scripture across the planet every day, it’s nice to know they’re relatively on the same page across the world. I really hope these pastors humble themselves and share the Word to shine the spotlight on Him.

The best gospel presentation I’ve seen in something like this was YEARS ago, probably 2015 at a church in Aus where they went clearly through several gospel accounts & added in what the angelic & demonic realms saw & how they tried to pull people into or out of miracles - they portrayed the woman with the issue of blood, Judas’ betrayal, all of it and actually ended with the great commission. It was one of the most powerful experiences I’ve seen visually, because it was focused on the gospel. They used a mixture of church & non church songs, however they only utilized them only to tell the story & where the characters hearts were at. I think it can be done well when prayed about but what ive seen of this seems to be in poor taste & that’s disappointing.

Hey man, this is kinda unrelated, or anyone who is reading this, but me and my friend struggle with a porn addiction, we have confessed to God and eachother today, I know we need to work through it together, but how or what can we do to help each other out through this other than praying for each other or how do we even pray for each other? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

    • @xenophonchristianrheeder8333
      @xenophonchristianrheeder8333 Рік тому

Hey, I know what you're going through. The how to pray, personally I'd close the door and get on my knees- humble yourself before God. Ask for mercy, and forgiveness in Jesus' name and keep confessing and keep repenting. It may be a battle of little time or a long one, the struggle and temptations will always be there. But as we grow in Jesus and our walk with God we become stronger. No matter what. keep praying and repenting, never hide your sin from God, and pray with your friend or some that you trust for it is written where we gather, that the Lord is there also. Things that can help you better combat this sin is the following. Read the Bible more, especially on how to counter lust (understand the sin, why you have the temptation and learn ways to counter it as well as the enemy)- pray constantly too. Also, if you're alone and tempted, rush straight to some gospel music you like. The moment you vibe with it-its like the temptation gets way weaker. Just be careful once you take out the earphones etc. So, praise helps. Another thing that helps is fasting, you learn to rely more on God and trust him as well as making your body want to focus on eating food rather that committing the sin. Distance yourself from sketch media the best you can, I deleted Instagram for example. Watch what you watch on tv or videos-anything that could bring up a temptation for you-stay away from it. Turn on the safe search option on Google too. Also every time there's a lustful thought, bring it under the authority of Jesus Christ- pray the moment you are tempted and remove yourself from the situation or space. I know its a lot- and I will pray for you too. We are Christians, we fight the good fight and don't stop because we know our hope in the Lord is true. He will never leave us-no matter what. Not in the lion's den of Daniel, not in the fiery furnace of Daniel's friends, and He did not leave king David alone in battles. We are brothers in Christ, lets move forward no matter what. We must do our best.

Hi, what an amazing thing that you are seeking God and seeking help. I'm proud of you. Now, when it comes to helping each other through it I would suggest holding each other accountable by consistently checking in on one another. Also another thing is to pin point what it exactly brings you to the place of temptation. By doing this you are able to avoid further issues of running into porn. Examples - if a video game causes you the slightest interest/ temptation in porn, decide wether or not it is worth it to you to delete the video game (source) of your sin.
A prayer for you and your friend - I praise the God who has the power to heal. I praise the God who stirs up unity even in the midst of pain and addiction. I claim the name of Christ the Victor to break the chains and bondage of porn. I praise the God of forgiveness. Would you cleanse the images of pornographic images from the minds of Your children. Would you re wire our brains to know what true love looks like. May we be the people to break these generational curses. Amen

Hi! I saw your message and wanted to reply. I can relate with o your addiction with porn. I’m a woman and have been dealing with the issue since so was young. I confessed it to God and prayed and fasted. There is scripture that says some demons may only be cast out with prayer and fasting. It helps to incorporate fasting with prayer. Read the scriptures that deal with your specific issue and meditate on them and listen to worship music. You can overcome this. I still struggle with thoughts but we must cast those thoughts down. Remember we have the dominion and the authority. Hope this helps you!

Hey, I try myself to not focus on that particular sin, and right now I am in a kind of engagement with God to avoid such sin (like when you fast, you choose and agree not to eat for a certain amount of time) because it seems that if I put it that way, I am very less likely to watch porn and all that goes with it.

I think it’s okay for the church to have big budgets and huge productions, but it has to put the focus on God. Sight and sound theaters have huge biblical productions every year, but what sets them appart from these self-serving easter productions is that they put a lot of effort in being faithful to the source material, with the gospel at the center of almost everyone of their productions
