I have not seen that talk so I will not comment on his views.
However, specifically on the sentence "men want variety". I believe this is both right and wrong because it's an oversimplification.
On the most primitive level it seems indeed that males are meant to seek as much reproduction as possible to ensure their genes go forward. There is no burden of child-bearing for them and it makes sense.
However, we are much more than our primitive parts and human culture has been ever evolving away from the most primitive. So, a fully mature and sophisticated man will be higher than the lowest level of his nature. But he will most likely always contain that "wild" part within that has to be tamed by a higher spirit.

@@nikolaisedov2295 every human has the ability to become sexually corrupt. Every human has the choice to look lustfully at another person. As Christians we fully recognize that this is something we choose to submit to. As Christians we believe that we should not only have eye for the opposite gender, but that we should only have eyes for our spouse. If those thoughts pop into our head then yes it up to us to intentionally shut that down. It becomes easier with more practice and wisdom from the Holy Spirit. The difference here is that when Dennis talks he is not talking from a Christian point of view. He talks as if this is a big struggle for every single man and no man has the ability to turn this off in his head. He does says that a man can resist ACTING on these interests out of his commitment/vow he made to his spouse but is pretty firm on his stance that men don't have the ability to stop the desires. This may be true for someone who isn't Spirit filled. The Holy Spirit was sent to us to be our helper and keeping us from our sinful desires. The impossible does become possible when we are willing to let the Holy Spirit to lead within us. I was struggling because I had the idea that my husband was walking around looking and desiring all these other woman he comes into contact with on a daily basis with no ability to turn it off. When I talked to my husband about what Dennis said, he immediately went on saying that this wasn't true. Men are, biologically speaking, designed to have as many partners as they can. That's why men are so eager to one night stands and are also so susceptible of porn. The difference is that, a Godly man filled with the spirit, will have a will much stronger than those desires.
Yes, a tough pill to swallow as well. This doesn't mean all men go out seeking lots of women. We choose to follow the Godly way and don't act upon those desires, we value having families and loving one person for the rest of our lives much more than "variety", but denying it like your husband is doing is not the correct approach.

Since we are all fallen creatures, we are all susceptible to seeking out things that are good and things that are bad. The pornography is a program, meticulously constructed and designed by the enemy to entrap us and to deceive us. The craft is the method in which pornography viewing becomes ever increasingly repetitive, it’s like the old potato chips commercial which boldly states; “Bet you can’t just eat one.”

Not Judaism, Rabbinical Judaism. There's a difference. Messianic Judaism/Biblical Christianity does understand the holiness of God much better than Rabbinical Judaism. Rabbinical Judaism is based on the teachings of the Pharisees and their successors. Messianic Judaism/ Biblical Christianity follows the teaching of Jesus Christ. The title Christ is a derivative of the Greek word χριστός (chrīstós) meaning "anointed one" which is the title that refers to the Messiah.
P.S. For the who are wondering Messianic Judaism mostly refers to a denomination of Christianity that is completely ethnically Jewish, and still holds to some Jewish Culture traditions such as imagery, and the use of kippahs and tallits. But most Messianic Jews prefer to just be called Jews who follow Jesus instead of just Christians. But they aren't apposed to the title Christian, it's just they want to keep there cultural identity as a Jew.

The problem with Porn is not in just looking, but that looking/watching is aiding and abetting of the sin (those actively creating the porn). To say that watching porn is not a sin because you are not the one creating the porn, is as ridiculous as saying that watching a snuff film is not a sin, because you're not the one committing murder. And saying that watching snuff films is better than committing a murder is absolutely ridiculous and same with watching porn as opposed to committing adultery.

We share the faith of Abraham because as he looked to a future Messiah, we look in the past. So in reality, we are the ones who preserved that ancient faith of our patriarchs. If the modern Jews are truely about Law, they would know that Christ came to fulfill said Law and He wrote the Law. Jesus is YHWH. The Jews hate Him for it. That system didn’t change and people only did well in that system while their leader was led By Gods Spirit. I guess the question I've always struggled with is this: I am a single guy who wants to find a partner like most other people. If I see a girl who is around my age, single, and I find her physically appealing, does that still count as lusting after her on account of me liking what I see? I have heard my pastor say that the Bible often used the word "adultery" to cover not just the act of cheating with another person's spouse, but to canvas a plethora of other sexual sins. My question is, what is the line that determines whether an interest in someone is pure or whether it is "adultery?"

As far as I know adultery is only if you're married. Sexual immorality in general is also sinful, so it would depend where your mind goes when you see a beautiful woman. The immoral lusting after a woman would be if you're imagining sexual acts with her. Just enjoying the beauty of someone or something isn't sinful. If you're both single and wait until marriage to actually engage in the acts then it is pure.

    • @janedoe2351

This is something that’s definitely confusing to me too, and as a single girl. From what I understand finding someone attractive isn’t a sin, but it’s fantasizing about and/or taking steps to sleep with her. When you’re dating a kiss is fine, unless the kiss’s end goal is to sleep with the person etc etc. Also with things like making out it’s not making out that’s a sin but fantasizing about taking it further or actually doing it. And for some people making out is just not a good idea because it leads to sin.
All in all, I don’t know, which is one of the reasons we need grace and forgiveness. Numbers 15:22-31 describes how a person is not responsible for an unintentional sin until you discover your unintentional sin was a sin. You are also (of course) responsible for an intentional one.
Romans 14:23 describes how any action you take that you are unsure if it’s a sin or not is a sin because it’s not done in faith and confidence.
I could totally be wrong, not a paster just another believer, but that’s what I think of it. If you disagree please say so and maybe we can all learn something

Great response to Prager and Peterson! Modern day mainstream conservatism is crazy. Very little conservatism about it.

These people are trying to split society into two groups. Divide and conquer. Neither is what they say. They add things little by little to drift those given to the title- they start to accept things they never would have if the only “group” they long to be with is God’s and no some mainstream group to feel “safe” within it.

As a Christian there is actually a sense of freedom and chains taken off when you follow Jesus’ command of “even if you look at a woman with lust you commit adultery”. It actually gives you and your wife security and self esteem. It’s also respectful to the attractive person that you aren’t using them as eye candy. Usually when you check someone out you have to do it secretly so no one catches you. If you have to do something that is shameful it probably means it’s bad. It is very freeing to treat all other women as platonic except my wife

@balkancibraca me and my wife are getting married later this year and it’s the same. We aren’t doing anything until after marriage. Pray to God so that no matter what happens he is watching so you’ll be comforted in no matter what happens. If it’s a yes but later, or a yes right now it’s still an answer coming from after he has heard you.

What I love about Jesus is that he humbled people.
The Jews thought they were good just because they hadn't killed anyone yet. Jesus came and said to be good to your brother or else you were a murderer.
The Jews thought they were good because they didn't cheat on their wives. Jesus said if you think about cheating, you're a sinner.
They thought they were following the bible perfectly but the truth is it's actually impossible. That's why we need Jesus cause there's no way we can live a sinless life.

Can we just look at the correlation between porn usage in childhood sexual abuse and serial killers….? Like the fact that porn is so prevalent with these people is TELLING

Can you look that over 98% of the population has been exposed to porn? like wow look at all these serial killers they all breath air, they all learned how to walk, they all knew what the color blue was, they all watched TV, they all listened to radio. etc etc.

God knew pornography would be… objectification of what he intended to be a sacred gift shared between two people open to the gift of life… it’s just disgusting and sad and distorts yet another one of Gods blessings to us.

There’s pleasure in sin for a season. Sometimes we defend our sin because we think we can stop at any time, put down what we picked up. It takes us actually stopping sin for us to see the consequences of it: sin is bondage and it does take away from our relationship with God.
No one thinks they are addicted until they change their mindset and actually try to stop sinning. That’s why I know God is real and the Holy Spirit can break the chains of bondage. Some things come from a mindset shift and some things are supernatural deliverance from unseen bondage.

The difference between attraction and lust can be pretty thin sometimes. Hard for me to tell sometimes--REALLY hard. If I'm staring though, I stop counting it as lust. Calling it admiration is twisted and I have to shut down that line of thinking before it goes anywhere. It's kind of just you see someone and thinks "whoa she's beautiful" vs. the attitude that thinks that and keeps looking. There's always that thought in the latter person's mind which is "Am I lusting? Or this isn't wrong, she's just beautiful."

Coming from someone who was saved from being a slaved to lust, we have to pay attention to what we pay attention to. Half of the battle. You do that, it's a big help.

In regards to Dennis Prager's view on lust in the heart:
1 Samuel 16:7 - But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not look at his appearance or at his physical stature, because I have refused him. For the Lord does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, *but the Lord looks at the heart.”*
