The Wha Happun? video after this should be Firefall, given that the primary cause of mismanagement and failure there was Mark Kern, former WoW designer and documented jackass that did wonderful things like spontaneously destroying the PvP section of the game because of a random forum post AFTER pouring tons of money into trying to make it an Esport, or wasting millions of dollars funding a full TV studio and customized tour bus for the game.
For the past 10 years, I have played WC3 daily. I was really into the custom TDs! Now I can't play it. After reforged came out, my warcraft 3 doesn't function. I can't join custom games, and when I try to play the campaign it just instantly jumps to the 'mission failed' screen for no reason. Blizzard didn't just release a bad game. They also destroyed a very good, 20 year old game.
They kind of messed up Starcraft , too. They changed a few things although not as bad as what they did to war three. Like for example they made fog of war not show you the most recent buildings seen. Just what a horrible change to do. They could of changed so many bugs and balance issues but yeah lets change the fog of war that players have been used to for 20 years. At least they didn't straight up RUIN starcraft like Warcraft 3. Just what a disaster. I fear for Diablo 4 and I am still waiting for starcraft 3.... Warcraft 4 would also be nice, but they will probably never make it. Just stupid mobile games.
Its like someone giving you a mustang for a birthday present. Then, 20 years later they give you a ford focus. Then when you realise that the ford is shit and decide to go back to the mustang they blow it up so you have no choice but to drive the ford. I feel like thats a pretty good metafor for this
Remember when Blizzard was seen as one of the coolest game studios, where when South Park made an episode of WoW they let them use the actual engine for cutscenes? What the hell happened
I appreciate acknowledging that the artists and programmers didn't really have any say in how things turned out. There are a lot of passionate and talented people who get caught in the crossfire when upper-management decisions drive a huge project into the ground, and it makes the whole thing all the sadder knowing that the work of those who actually did care about trying to make something worthwhile is all but forgotten amidst the controversy.
I wonder if that battle cutscene where his hair didn't move was also incomplete and almost finished but got rushed out like the rest of the game for being good enough. I can't help but wonder how the artists who worked on every other cutscene that got scrapped feels too.
@@nexus3756 Honestly, what you just said couldn't be much more inaccurate if you tried... The indie market is a saturated cesspit for the most part, with the overwhelming majority of projects not brining in nearly enough to provide for yourself, let alone a family. And not to mention the vast majority of artists and programmers are doing that job because THAT is the job they want to do, NOT run a company. Trying to run your own (actually successful) game studio requires a lot of work and effort completely separate from normal game development work. Then there's also the fact that many indie game companies are actually more unreliable than the Big Evil Corporations®. The list of indie companies that have ripped off devs and/or investors and/or crowdfunding backers is virtually endless. Or when a company is run by someone in way over their head and very suddenly runs out of money long before anything worthwhile forms and you're suddenly out of a job and nothing to show for it on a resume.

Yep. This was entirely the fault of the higher-ups who called the shots on what would be and wouldn’t be included in the product. Not surprised, though, considering all the main leaders (including its founders) and creative minds (like Metzen) that made Blizzard into one of the best reputed studios in the business have all left by 2019. Now it’s a bunch of dumbfucks that obey whatever that piece-of-shit Kotick tells them.
The worst thing is that there are hints of true love in the game; a programmer that took the time to give each mage in Dalaran distinct spells; someone who clearly remembers the way people cheesed some missions in the game and tried to make the mission more engaging to avoid the need of that. All spread through that dumpster fire, you can pick on the embers of the work of passionate workers screwed by a shitty company.
Agreed. And the worst part of it is that they had to listen to some figurehead give a double-talk, gobbledygook statement. No doubt hard to swallow and stomach.
Espically seen with how many of them worked hard to make the models look good and make certain characters more unique, and not be stuck with a generic model

Small Update: A tournament using this version of Warcraft 3 recently concluded and it was so unstable that it literally caused upsets, most notably an up-and-coming player (ThorZain) almost defeating one of the best players in the world (Moon) until desync bugs forced a restart TWICE and allowed the latter to adapt and beat his opponent.
I think my favorite bit was this one guy who didn't even buy Reforged and had been playing the original game for the better part of ten years. It got automatically updated and now he can't play his old game anymore because his PC can't handle it.
I was slowly working my way to the end of the campaign on hard difficulty. On and off over months I had made it to the undead campaign of Frozen Throne. Now all of that progress is gone and I can't bring myself to replay it because of how disappointed I am in reforged.
I have the original CDs (wish I had them for D2 and OG SC still); this is why I never loaded anything on to Battlenet. Everyone has been making a huge deal of always being online, access to backups, etc. Now we know it's not all roses.
@Lesbian Seagull Happy to hear it! They don't deserve our money anymore, until they change their ways. I actually pre-ordered WC3R, based on their performance of their work on Starcraft: Remastered, thinking "they couldn't possibly ruin a classic game!" Oops.
And one more fact. They didn't miss dota. Icefrog has many times offered to make a separate standalone game. Blizz turned it down. They didn't consider it a viable project. So fu blizz, you're the one good example of karma.
@Username you're right. But this is not an excuse for their crying bitch policy. Blizz didn't take the risk which is a totaly normal choice. Why blame the others after?
If karma existed, all of the execs and managers pushing for it would have gotten hit by a bus the moment they walked out of the meeting after deciding, "Nahhhh, we don't need half these features we promised. That'd cost too much. Oh, let's also not tell anyone so we still make tons of sales." ...
@@DaveUnknown I think you mean superiority complex. Iirc the Dunning-Krueger effect is the opposite, where you underestimate and don't believe that you are smart enough/ have enough skill to do something.
@@dantethewanderer4989 You only describe 1 half of the Dunning-kruger effect. The full thing simplified is that dumb people think they are smart because they don't know any better. Smart people also tend to underestimate themselves because they assume what they have is common knowledge. Really though, look up the stuff, it strange how human nature works.
So in short they couldn't do it within the deadline, toned everything down without telling the fanbase, shoved it out virtually unplayable and then tried to pass blame onto the "no changes" crowd with their letter to the fans. FFS guys if you don't have time just delay the game's launch. That would have been fine, at least better accepted than what happened in actuality.
What I heard is you cannot delay the product more then a year after purchase. It was available for pre-purchase in 2019, and the delay (which they totally did) was a really short one.
Notice how whenever a Blizzard mouthpiece "apologizes" for or "explains" something, the onus is placed on the end user for not being satisfied with what they received, not the company for releasing something dissatisfactory. Consume product, don't ask questions, etc.
It's actually common among the gaming industry. every time a game is released and poorly recieved, it's always blamed on the fans first and foremost. Companies really hate admitting when they fucked up.
@@TheUbberman In some fairness, that's not a baseless philosophy; while taking feedback into account is a good idea, a lot of things that fans don't initially ask for or want can end up being better than just doing whatever they say. Look at Wind Waker's graphics versus Twilight Princess's; at the time, people hated Wind Waker's look and wanted the realistic game, and Twilight Princess provided that. But nowadays, most people will say Wind Waker looks a lot better than Twilight Princess, because that cartoony cel-shaded aesthetic managed to age a lot better than mud, bloom, and three-gen-old polygons. Of course, most people just use it as an excuse to do really dumb shit in the name of "creative vision", which is also incidentally the vision where they do less work.
I miss the old days when Blizzard was an awesome company Riot in the old days was an awesome company A few years ago I would have also said Capcom in the old days was an awesome company but they've been rebounding nowadays Many fall like the Roman Empire did, but a few could be like Florence, Italy
Blizzard leadership for sure isn't innocent. Activision itself releases some pretty good games. There may be pushback on the Activision business side to release projects before they are ready. But Blizzard has management of their own that need to be accountable for giving their mark of approval on this game.
@@brainfreeze91 "Blizzard leadership" yeah, most of the people that were Blizzard already left the company, so this Blizzard leadership is not made of people of actually Blizzard, but some hollow, "don't you have phones?" and "we are sorry but not really for banning people speaking up against China" kind of drones of Activision.
Funfact: Blizzard had the chance to create their very own Dota when one of its creators approached them for a stand alone game. What did they do? They laugh at the entire idea. Now they're crying tears of blood and the result of their decision shows.
My father was the first on leaderboard of Europe. We had already bought the disc in 2003, but now that we updated it we were really really disappointed in what we saw. He lost all of his progress (i bet most of players did) and he can't even be on any leaderboard. I hate Blizzard. The username of my father's account was maxwc3. No-one asked for a reforged version, so why did you build it what's the point.
Brack never actually apologizes for anything specific. As The Jimquisition has pointed out, his vaguely worded speeches never actually say that Blizzard committed any wrongdoing, merely that the company failed at some abstract conceptual goal. I get that it's probably to prevent grounds for a lawsuit; but at that point, don't issue an apology at all. It's cynical and only serves to further infuriate your once-rabid fanbase.
The Blizzard we all grew up with is gone. They are "Activision Blizzard" now. It's a shame since my love for PC gaming started with them and X-Com. Another sad note for this is there was a Warcraft 3 section of a recent tournament and the game, even on classic mode, kept crashing out over and over and forced a quarterfinals match to be replayed 4 times.
@@TommyDeonauthsArchives Your loss. When I was teenager and me and my friends were having a BLAST in Diablo 2 - those were precious times. It wasn't a suprise for me..
Budget cuts. I'm 90% sure that is what happened, think about it: 2019 is the year blizzard cut the heroes of the storm pro scene and fired a ton of people out of nowhere. Clearly they had some big internal restructuring, and reforged, having lower expected profits than something like overwatch 2 or diablo 4, got gutted. end of 2018, blizzcon, they have money, they show the cool trailer and are confident. Beginning of 2019 they don't anymore and they realize they're screwed, so they just cobble together what they can for it to be functional. If you look at the game, there are some things that have been done very well, with a lot of care, and others that seem unfinished, apparently at random. To me, that screams "we had a good schedule but it was abruptly changed mid-way". They didn't expect to have to prioritize until it was too late, and some stuff had already been done with the higher budget.
You are probably right. Doubly sad though since Blizzard made record profits the previous year. Activision really is squeezing everything out of Blizz before leaving it to die.
After hearing the allegations against Activision blizzard, including how many Male employees were blackout drunk, it makes more sense why the game failed to deliver.
Blizzard _did_ die. Let's not forget that Activision kicked out many of Blizzard's original employees before Reforged. It's not Blizzard in its essence anymore. It's just an empty shell of what it once was being barely kept standing by Activision's strings.
It's made me realise that sometimes, a lot of ire is misdirected. EG: man, the original Sonic Boom could have been great. It is NOT the Dev team's fault.
I can't really get into his content much myself, and it wasn't until watching this video that I could finally put my finger on it as to why; it's the stuttering/confused mutterings in a pre-scripted video. I'm fine with that sort of thing being done live, but when you are reading from a script and doing it on purpose, it just annoys me. I watched this video simply because I hadn't really watched anything on this disaster beyond Jim Sterling's coverage on it.
I love how the game is so broken that the game kept disconnecting on LAN during the recent Warcraft 3 tournament. Even kept robbing a dude of his probable victory multiple times.
MULTIPLE tourny games were getting desynced until they said fuck it and took off the reforged graphics Even TODAY the same thing happened on B2W stream TWICE IN A ROW, then for once the admins decided to take off the reforged graphics
It is because the game wasn't properly stressed-tested for netcode. Desyncing is just a plain embarrassment these days. This isn't early the 1990s where you were stuck with peer to peer models (where a packet drop/loss could kill a game).
Remember when Blizzard was notorious for "When it's done." when asked about release dates? I miss the old Blizzard. They were always one of my favorite developers. Oh well, it was nice knowing you, Blizz.
I stopped running the Blizzard Launcher some time after Heroes of the Storm became infected with the Overwatch lootboxes and put RNG between me and the shit I would've liked. These days I've been looking into mods of Blizzard's older titles. Currently playing Belzebub (a.k.a. Diablo 1 HD), and it's pretty fun even if every boss is hilariously overtuned.

@@OzixiThrill I'll have to disagree. People felt the change, we just could not explain it back then. There's a reason why subscriber numbers in WoW flat-lined. The last pre-Activision content with the old design philosophy was released (Ulduar) and the new motto (accessibility) took over. And then the growth stopped. It's just that the continued high quality allowed us all to overlook it. And with every burning Blizzard employee leaving the company, that old soul got lost a little more. That's why it wasn't an immediate wake-up call. We were slowly boiled like the frog in cold water.

"A delayed game is eventually good. A rushed game is forever bad!" That statement couldn't be more true here. Especially for adding unnecessary changes and not making their minds up on what the remake should be to begin with. But especially time.
Personally, I think that statement is a bit outdated. In the past it was true, and a rushed game certainly will be bad and generate hate, but thanks to updates and patches, the idea of a game being "forever bad" is no longer true as games such as Rainbow six seige, star wars battlefront 2, and of course No Man's Sky all being games that were dissapoint upon release, but are now generally well received thanks to updates.
@@phabiorules It's really not that outdated. Just because a game can be overhauled, doesn't mean it'll get better... and even if it does, that doesn't mean people will flock to it. No matter the about of updating and patching you do, you will ALWAYS only ever get one first impression and most people will tell a company to go fuck themselves if they screw up that first impression no matter what they do. No Man's sky is a good example of a game fixing itself, but for every no man's sky (Which isn't even that popular even now) there's 2 or 3 completely forgotten games trying to claw their way back from the depth they put themselves in.
@@Pookie2112 But it wasn't on launch day and people even to this day still have that ugly first impression in mind. I agree the statement is outdated, it should be "A delayed game is eventually good, unless it gets messed up later by a remaster. A rushed game is bad forever"
9:20 - 9:25 That isn't true, there are two ways of playing the old version. First one: If you have the cds, you can install it and update it up to 1.27, anything beyond 1.27 will be reforged. Second one: If you bought it digitally you can download the test public test realm 1.31 and use the CD key to install it, it will be the classic one, not reforged. I play it with both ways, use the 1.27 just for the sake of it and the 1.31 for custom content (If you want some really good graphics on 1.31 you can download the Rebirth mod, it's really great, it resembles better the old warcraft but with new art, and doesn't look like a mobile game).
@Daniel Heidenreich 7J88FH-YYWE-MXFYT2-GDDR-2D6D44 use this one (Not mine). Just don't be an ass and don't try to log into Blizzard, the CD keys are now part of the user account and if you get banned you will cause the owner to lost his account too.
@@mattbrady2011 The second option is technically a illegal method if you use someone else CD key and it's the only way of getting Warcraft up to 1.31 with no reforged (1.31 is important because a lot of custom content won't work in lower versions). I wouldn't be so sure. The development team has only just reached the size of what Rockstar has working on GTA V last year. It's taking a long time, sure, but for half a decade, they were only a small handful working on a massive undertaking. Edit: Half the size of GTA's team
The most ironic thing is, they took the cool cutscenes out to "stay true to the original". The ORIGINAL FREAKING GAME HAD CUTSCENES IN! Some are, but not limited to: arthas returning to lorderean, the attack on mount hyjal and illidan vs arthas, to name a few. Taking out the cool cutscenes actually does the opposite effect. It makes it further from the original because it takes away the main source of storytelling they wanted to do in the original; but were limited to because of the engine. Which is why key events and the intro to the game are cutscenes.
@@adinizwarcraft3872 Early Alpha warcraft 3 reforged had a cutscene for stratholme that was entirely different from the one we got; which was an example of how the cutscenes could be seen as cinematics. The levels were edited in reforged to be different; now they could be one of the many amounts of bugs like what happened to scripts for enemies, but from enemy amounts, placements, voice lines, key parts of their designs and even "cutscenes" from the game were missing as reforged just skips them if they aren't part of the main story. The decline of blizzard has been most apparent in WoW actually. The quality of the expanssions has been going down hill with Battle for Azeroth being one of the worst ones ever.
I play WoW since it’s release. Burning Crusade and WOTLK brought good elements to questing and PVE, but the game took a serious downfall since BC. People just rushed to get max level, which meant the game was almost meaningless and empty before attaining max level... I tried playing some other expansions since then : Mist of Pandaria and Shadowlands. Their stories are so cringe and generic it’s funny lol. I always played Vanilla WoW on private servers since WoW Classic was released, and I’ll get back to Vanilla. You hit the nail on the head with this one. Blizzard would never release this game, Activision-Blizzard on the other hand, this is normal operating procedure.
When a gaming company begins to focus on quarterly earnings, they show their consumers "we don't care about polish, we just want money." As a result, a friend of mine who is a diehard WC3 fan (also preordered the game) is now pessimistic about preordering ANY game ever again. It would be one thing if this was just a bad release, but I could go start up the original game, but I can't, and I'm not gonna play this version of it, so I'm basically never playing Warcraft 3 again. That's some real shit.
5:45 @Matt_McMuscles actually they did announce the revamp cutscenes would be cut at blizzcon 2019. Granted it was a really vauge and slimy way of doing it. They say the "Cullling Treatment" was being "Scaled back" as it didn't fit with the "original vision" of WC3. If you watch the Blizzcon 2019 WC3 presentation at 20 minutes. It's short and vauge so i don't fault you for missing it. Everyone else missed it. They claim they got Devisive feedback at Blizzcon 2018 which is complete bullshit. But then of course at the end of that presentation they teased the new Artthas vs Illidan cinematic. Point is the statement was so vauge no one picked up on it combined with them keeping the trailer up on the wc3 website.
Their legal team most likely gave them advice on how to put in the minimal effort required to cover their asses legally so they could still sell the game to as many people as possible.
@@filipwolffs i doubt it. If their legal team even weighed in on this they would have had them remove the trailer from website advertising it in the game.

"The common consensus from fans and critics alike, was that this cutscene in particular resembles something you'd see in a mobile-" Man, Honkai Impact is a mobile game and it still has better cutscenes than this.
Their idea of removing cinematic cutscenes from trailer is to follow fan feedback and preserve the content of the original game. Meanwhile on ending battle between Illidan and Arthas: instead of using updated model and animation techniques to make a more epic showdown, they shoved a generic CGI cutscene...

"You think you know what you want, but you don't."

No Man's sky is a good example of a game fixing itself, but for every no man's sky (Which isn't even that popular even now) there's 2 or 3 completely forgotten games trying to claw their way back from the depth they put themselves in.

I wish 2020 could be reforged!!
if it will be like War3 please do not
I heard that it will be Reforged again in the next century and it might be good.
I think it needs more than a reforge. It needs to be smashed to atoms!
Matt McMuscles... please consider doing TWO WORLDS. For the love of gaming... this needs its story told.
Yeah. Always wanted to know more about that mess of a series.
This is why I don't trust AAA video game companies anymore.
I trust Arc sys
I trust Nintendo to an extend

Can we take a moment to acknowledge the roast on Raid Shadow Legends and this game?
It's really a blessing to be alive at a time like this. We were just yesterday experiencing the dawn of concretely entertaining gaming, and now... "Paid: Shadow Legends" and "Warcraft: What-the-forged" are here to push its downfall. Hah...
Every time I hear the term "fiscal earnings" I need a bucket.
Rewatching this on 7/28/2021 and...yeah, Blizzard definitely should have taken that "company reforging" advice :/
We need an episode on Activision Blizzard themselves at some point.
"Our community has come to expect really amazing things from us, and we've heard from them that we did not achieve that bar."
Oh, you and your company achieved some really amazing things, Brack. The incompetence on display is truly amazing, no two ways about it.
I hate the notion of Blizzard being the innocent lamb exploited by Activision; I really doubt Brack had a gun to his head forcing him to do the stupid shit he has done over all these years.
I feel blessed everyday to be an original Age of Empires player. We've been spoiled with the Definitive Edition
True, try playing the original on WIn10 nowadays.... the sea and lakes turn purple and the original 800x600p gets stretched out to a hillarious deegre. XD

You don't need a launcher to click an executable lmao. No need to meat ride Valve
That shit terrifies me. Your hard work and love of a game with creative custom maps being owned and taken over by the company. When your fans do these things in your games, you should feel pride and honor. Not greed and jealousy.
To blizzard and Activison:
You give video games a bad name!
Remember when Blizzard's unofficial motto was "When it's ready"?
Pepperidge Farm remembers...
I thought that was the motto for DNF...
Oh they reforged it alright, the game was taken to the Smith to repair and restore it. But the problem is the Smith was out and it was just the apprentice there. And the apprentice was drunk. And he could barely pickup the hammer. And he only had one arm. Oh right and did we mention that the pomel was handed out to a different Smith to forge and the current Smith didn't actually do it? Oh and last but not least the Smith did a shit job at the final polishing and sharpening making it a chipped mess.
Enjoy the reforged game! Now give the good Smith sixty dollars for his work. No refunds, no future reforging.
Edit:oh right and you only get your money back after getting a angry mob to demand it and only even then it's reluctantly
It seems that the events of these past few weeks demands an episode on Activision/Blizzard itself
To quote Yahtzee Croshaw:
"Publishers these days tend to treat gaming history like a great big party buffet full of lovely dishes; they randomly pick a sherry trifle with some nostalgia value and name recognition, do a great big squirty dump into it, and then they push it back into our face going "Look, now there's more trifle! Give us cash!""

I wouldn't be so sure. The development team has only just reached the size of what Rockstar has working on GTA V last year. It's taking a long time, sure, but for half a decade, they were only a small handful working on a massive undertaking.
Edit: Half the size of GTA's team
"Because they, as a company, could stand to do some reforging of their own."
Matt is getting better at this lol
9:06 "Ah. A gold mine. We'll set up our base there." Lmao!
And almost half a year later almost nothing has been done or fixed. Way to go Blizzard.
We should start calling them 'Flurry' instead of Blizzard.
1) those are cinematics, not cutscenes.
2) they were never taken out, dunno what you're talking about.
@@adinizwarcraft3872 Early Alpha warcraft 3 reforged had a cutscene for stratholme that was entirely different from the one we got; which was an example of how the cutscenes could be seen as cinematics. Because they themselves where creating a video-like animation using in-game models.
As for refoged removing stuff from the game.
Also did reforged ever have the cinematic for "battle of mount Hyjal" and the intro for "warcraft 3 the frozen throne" ? If they did; were they updated like the others? Because I don't even remember seeing them.
Meanwhile Capcom: releases Megaman Zero ZX Legacy Collection with more love and was loved and bought for a 12th of the price of all 6 games.

Not gonna lie when u paste in the hilarious story clips from Warcraft that fit exactly what your describing ... its next level youtubing
Blizzard didn't "miss" DOTA. They laughed the guy out of the office and told him to fuck off after offering him a small amount of money. So he went to valve and that royally pissed off blizzard.
People need to stop making excuses for Blizzard by blaming it all on Activision its not them, it's Blizzard they aren't who they used to be, you all need to accept it.

The retail game is absolute garbage made for inpatient/uninested kids that want the reward without the work.
You hit the nail on the head with this one. Blizzard would never release this game, Activision-Blizzard on the other hand, this is normal operating procedure.
14:05 That screen transition makes me wish there were Matt McMuscles skull stress balls.
When a gaming company begins to focus on quarterly earnings, they show their consumers "we don't care about polish, we just want money." As a result, a friend of mine who is a diehard WC3 fan (also preordered the game) is now pessimistic about preordering ANY game ever again.
Yeah...WC3 Reforged caused a *diehard Warcraft fan* to hold onto her wallet even tighter. That's not just a failure, but a massive kick to the groin.
Can wait for the "Blizzard - What happened?" video
I'm convinced that any studio , no matter how geniune, will eventually succum to modern corporate practices. Nothing is pure anymore.
Eh....Valve is owned privately, and it's unlikely to merge with another company.
The key is to keep the company AWAY from predatory investors. Otherwise you will end up like Activision Blizzard or EA.
Sadly, you're probably right. The best that a gamer can hope for is that they don't do it too often, and at least keep a sense of humor.
@@mariomouse8265 Valve is alright but GOG is better. DRM free gaming is way more ideal than renting a game for purchase. Physical ownership lasts forever if you have external harddrive or backup of it. But online stores will in the end vanish
10:59 Buddy, that didn't work for Doug Walker, and it won't work for you!
Blizzard, Bethesda, or Bioware - which of the three B's have been the biggest shitshow of a dev this generation?
Bethesda for how much of an ass hole todd howard is, Blizzard for how much pure shit they spew out and bioware for completely losing their way with management and where they want there games to go, its a hard choice to make for sure
Probably Bioware.
The garbage Bethesda and Blizzard put out might have been bad, but at least they don't have "stress casualties".
Devs wanna make garbage, cool, that's on them, personal decision, not one I'd reccomend, but they're free to make it. Devs wanna abuse their employees, hell no. Those are human beings just trying to live their lives. That's not just a questionable decicions, that's actual villainy at the expense of the well-being of others. It wouldn't matter if the thing Bioware made WASN'T hot garbage, they'd still be scum.
I think I'll let Gunnery Sergeant Hartman answer this one for me.
"You are *all* equally worthless."
In some alternate universes, Blizzard release Warcraft 3: Reforged like what they said and people praise them for that
Lucky bastards
good thing this was the last of the bad press blizzard would get! i haven't checked to see what they've been up to lately but i'm sure it's been all smooth sailing since then!
lol
Honestly if you squint your eyes and shine a light your eyes. You could say it's clear skies for blizzard
7 months later nothing changed....and game is dying. It would've been better if they cancelled this shit and leave wc3 alone. They never should've went with "Reforged" approach at all, it should be a modest and humble remaster very carefully and thoughfully done to just refresh the original game and have it on the storefront. It would've served the community better in long term and would've been far easier to achieve. They even done it partially in 2015 with small batch of War3hd models in Starcraft 2 which are infinetly better than anything from Reforged and are faithful to the source material, but why do that when you can ruin a game....
How we doin a further 3 months on
@@cptsteele91 Still exactly the same LMAO
Hey guys how's it now lol
@@Francis-ht5td Similarily shitty. Current patches didnt really fix much. Reforged is collection of all we didnt need, neither wanted, while actual issues like desyncs, bad performance especially on heavier custom maps where its even more cpu limited(and doesnt use multithreading almost at all.) are ignored.
We needed engine rewrite to fix performance and raise limits and gentle remaster of visuals, not this Raid shadoe legends remakester abomination...
Old dub us still gone but just like prior there is a way to restore it for yourself if you have classic version files.
@@Francis-ht5td As for the game its limping along with samey player numbers on custom maps as before reforged, some people returned, but its far from ideal. Some communities suffered and gave up tho. Roleplay maps are very rarely played anymore due to desyncs ruining games.
I almost bought it. Then I saw the opening reviews
If they're just going to be this lazy, I shouldn't have to pay 30 bucks for it.
I saw the 2018 footage and then later during the Strathlome campagin map release and knew it would be shit when I realized they would do everything they could to shove as much WoW shit in WC3
Thankfully i still have my Warcraft 3 disc
The shade you threw on Raid and this game was amazing.
16:33 Ahahaha ! Ahaha ! Ah...Ah.
The last patch for reforged was in october last year. The patch before that one was in august. The october patch was 90% balance changes for the multiplayer, tweaking values in the editor. Blizzard had dropped Warcraft 3 Reforged, and they're not coming back. Welcome to the new Blizzard, and all hail Activision.
It’s sad when a map maker in StarCraft 2 arcade has done a better job at remastering the old game than Blizzard tells you everything you need to know about the state of the company…
I legit hope you got paid for that RAID plug. taking their money while making them a literal punchline is too poetic and beautiful not to happen.
Can't legally play the old version? Sounds like what happened with WoW, watch in 15 years they'll make WARCRAFT III CLASSIC and people will eat that shit up like Classic WoW.
Just go pirate. At this point companies are begging for it.
When I played unreal tournament we had 200? 300? maps? 60 skins? modding comunity throwing stuff at us.
Devs delivering more than promissed. It was so ez to copy discs but people bought the game.
I had copies of my favourite games like AoEII W3 (rts) Half Life, etc...
If I bought something I expect it to be mine forever. But in reallity companies are all like apple, you don't own anything can't do anything you want with the product. Either use it as the company tells you or they'll hammer down.
Now everything you pay, it's RENTED. ON LEASE.
Companies can take anything you bought away from you whenever they want.
Now should be the time where private servers boom all over for everygame.
(But even then I've seen a lot of drama with greedy private wow server managers so...)
Humans...
Since chances are if this situation affects you, you own the original game anyway go ahead and pirate it, you're literally just using a product that you've purchased
That “sick bastards” line is burned into my memory from childhood
Corporation kills the good will of the devs, they have passion and love for what they are working, but the greedy timeline schedule combined with the idea of making the most amount of profit over a famous brand with the less amount of work possible is just so sad and criminal
It poetic how much Blizzard downfall mirror that of Arthars, in its singular pursuit, it was seduced by a darker power and has become the one thing it hated the most, a soulless company that only bend on world domination yet didn't even once stopped to consider how derange it has become.
Good thing I have my good ol pirated version.
With how terrible everything is, I really feel like the most objectionable part is completely removing the original Warcraft 3, for everyone, automatically.
Point is the statement was so vauge no one picked up on it combined with them keeping the trailer up on the wc3 website.
wow that is fucked up that's even worse then if they had said nothing
Their legal team most likely gave them advice on how to put in the minimal effort required to cover their asses legally so they could still sell the game to as many people as possible.
@@filipwolffs i doubt it. If their legal team even weighed in on this they would have had them remove the trailer from website advertising it in the game.
Man...What an interesting time to be recommended this video, huh?
the fact that they steal your game that you own and replaces it with this broken mess is criminal, i own Warcraft 3 and frozen throne yet i have to pirate them just to play them now because blizzard stole them.
"The common consensus from fans and critics alike, was that this cutscene in particular resembles something you'd see in a mobile-"
Man, Honkai Impact is a mobile game and it still has better cutscenes than this.
Yep. HI3 definitely has better cinematic cutscenes. Like that one with Herrscher of the Void, God Kiana.
