I think the point of having Nehemiah in is for his expertise in Hebrew. You got to give him credit for objectively looking at this and giving his expert opinions.
The Apostle Paul took some time to come to the belief in Jesus as being the Messiah. Up till then it says, "...he was zealous for the traditions of his forefathers". He was even persecuting the church. But when he finally had his eyes opened he became complete in his faith about Jesus and God used him in a mighty way. He is credited with writing 14 of the 27 books of the Greek Scriptures (NT). He went on missionary tours and took the message of the Good News to the Gentile nations. People can have an honest change of heart. Perhaps Nehemiah Gordon may make such a change... only time will tell.
I pray too that Nehemia becomes a follower of Yeshua! This is October 28th 2022 that I am seeing this. I have been blessed and educated by what Yeshua has taught me through this man! I have read the prayer Yeshua prayed to YEHOVAH AVINU and was so blessed! He even prayed for us today that would come to Him through their words! @@openigang rather, he knows the scriptures so well he considers Yeshua the prime contender to be revealed at the end, as Messiah. Perhaps he's seen the debate where Michael Brown bests the Rabbi on Isaiah 53 and Daniel 9, especially concerning the time frame of which the Messiah was to come, before 70 AD. The same event of which Yeshua prophesied, warning his disciples, who did leave for safety. The same event Moses prophesied of in Deuteronomy 4, how Israel would be scattered for acting corruptly. So why trust that generation, who were scattered? From Psalm 2, "Give honor to the son, least angry he become, and you perish in your ways." Many called King David a fable, but archeology has borne him out.
Seek his descendant. the one in which Hebrew Matthew clears up that age old problem of Yeshua's genealogy. He is the arm of the Lord from Isaiah 59 and 53! When God found no one truly righteous to intercede, "his own arm brought salvation for him." He is one with the Son, since he literally connected to mankind, as Micah 5:2 also showed. The arm of the Lord in Isaiah 53 ends with, "He bore the sin of many, and interceded for the transgressors." When he returns all will be fulfilled. Should a false Messiah rise, he won't fulfill the first part of the Messiah's mission of redemption, will he? Now since Israel was not found worthy to stay in the land (Deut 4:29), Yeshua couldn't take his place upon the throne and fulfill the part remaining. But he will. Yehovah keeps his promises.

The new testament writers played fast and loose with the Hebrew scriptures and you fell for it. Take your fairy tales and keep it moving bro.
@@openigang you should have dealt with the many scriptures I cited. Instead of generalities. What of how Brown best the Rabbi on Isaiah 53? Or Daniel 9 and the appointed time for the Messiah. So how do you trust the generation that was scattered? You should study these scriptures and get back to me once you get it. Or can at least give actual arguments back using scripture.

One interesting and crucial thing in Shem Tob's quotes from Matthew 28:19 and from the copy of the text itself I've seen is it says NOTHING about baptizing in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Ghost. The only verse that millions cling to (since there's no other) for their baptism formula isn't in the Hebrew version of Matthew. Not only is this a huge blow to the Trinity doctrine, it's also further powerful support for baptism in the name of Yeshua as we know was the only name the Apostles baptized in.
Baptism in the name was the original teaching as seen in Acts 2:38, 8:16, 10:48, 19:5. The titles were added later by the apostate church.

Thank you Nehemiah. I’m comparing another Matthew Hebrew “The Delitzsch Hebrew Gospels” 19th century. George Howard’s “Hebrew Gospel of Matthew” written by Shem Tov 14th century. As you know Delitzsch translated from the Greek Matthew into Hebrew. George Howard stated: In my judgement, Shem-Tob the polemist did not prepare this text by translating it from the Latin Vulgate, the Byzantine Greek, or any other known edition of the Gospel of Matthew. He received it from previous generations of Jewish scribes and tradents. I just ordered your book recommended. Is there anything else that you have in the future works with the other Gospel Hebrew?

Nehemiah; is there a list/catalogue available of these Hebrew gospels with information on where they were found, there approximate age, names of translators if possible, etc etc. From what Michael says at the beginning they are not the work of Shem Tov but it would be nice to know who or at least a little more.

I am very encouraged by all of this. I learned Koine Greek in order to get closer to intended instruction of the so called NT. My translation based upon the rules of grammar of Greek, not just the remote possibility that most modern translations are based, backed by over 15 years of intense study in the Greek was The Word was having the attributes of Theos (G-d), not being a person or the one & same entity. In the beginning, bereshit (in the Hebrew John) accurately reflect & reveals The Word was a concept, a power, way back when, long before man was created. The Word was not a man, he created man, & eventually came to earth to become a man & live as a man, in order to save the repentant of his creation. Notice that Yeshua was not even named with a human until the time after conception yet prior to the birth by Mary. All of this person of Yeshua beginning with conception meshes with all of the Greek I have translated, unlike the various Trinity theories of Christendom.
Discoveries such as this show the truth of prophecy that in the last days, knowledge would increase & yet men, at large, will be ignorant to the truth. Even Nehemia who openly says he would have loved to have been able to have met Yeshua, yet even 'with the explosion of information', he claims he is not a Christian & is yet waiting in his Messiah, even though a great chunk of his expertise & time is being devoted to the study of Yeshua. Nehemia may not declaring Yeshua's name, but he is actively clarifying his name, his message to mankind, his path & purpose, & of course, his Father's name. When Nehemia finally breaks down & accepts Yeshua as the true Messiah, his Messiah, it'll be quite a sight before YeHoVaH, for Nehemia has been a hard nut to crack. YeHoVaH has diligently softened his heart & mind, a stark contrast to the harsh, hateful Anti-Yeshua rhetoric I used to read that he placed upon the Karaite Korner site back in the day. He had the truth of scripture only (meaning refusing manmade laws & traditions), but rejecting the Messiah whom the scriptures foretold. He vehemently spewed that anyone who believes in Yeshua/Jesus was an enemy of both Karaites & Judaism at large. I believe I remember him calling Christians pagan at the time. What a metamorphosis. Truly an emerging butterfly, becoming a new creation.
Like I said, with his passion & diligence, it is only a matter of time before Nehemia finally confesses the entire truth. People like Keith Johnson & Michael Rood, & others have been patient, nonjudgmental, & nurturing in respect to his journey to understanding & enlightenment. YeHoVaH works in mysterious ways & in His own good time as He deals with His people. We wouldn't be so lucky that a camera will actually be recording the most intimate, private moment while Nehemia comes to the savior, Yeshua, a Ha Mashiach, the Annointed One.such a moment could be too strong of a witness for others to tolerate, because it'll be so raw & so real. Nehemia will either be literally shouting the truth from the rooftops or have to retreat from the spotlight for a time to humble himself. Remember, he is a devout Karaite you know. He will be both fundamentally changed & humbled. Keith & Michael may have to drop everything on the spot to deal with their good friend's conversion & baptism. Yes, it'll be that big, Yehovah willing.

maxpow99 YeHoVaH annointed Yeshua with the Holy Spirit at his Baptism by John. An annointing from Above, by the Father, supersedes any Annointing done by any human representative. And, notice carefully that John bears witness to Yeshua upon his arrival, declaring "I ought to be baptized by you." What a grand expression of approval of Yeshua, considering how much John was know for calling out the shortcomings of & chastising the Pharisees & the scribes. Yeshua instructs John to "Let it be for now. For in this way we shall do all that G-d requires." So John agrees & the baptism precedes. The Father, then, also bears witness to Yeshua upon his exiting up out of the water of baptism. Heaven was opened and he saw the Spirit of G-d coming down live a dove & lighting upon him. The voice from heaven saying, "This is my own dear Son, with whom I am pleased with."
Two witnesses are necessary for any judgment or truth to be declared. Thus, Yeshua was approved fit for the service of ministry, by John, a prophet foretold by Isaiah, another prophet, for "G-d said I will send my messenger ahead..." A human messenger of G-d is the very definition of prophet. So John announced "the man who will come after me is much greater than I. I am not worthy enough even to bend down & untie his sandals. I baptize you with water, but he will baptize you with the spirit of holiness & fire." So a prophet, a son born of a miracle of G-d, son of a priest named Zechariach of priestly order of Abijah, who had worked in G-d's temple has witnessed, first, declaration of the coming arrival then shock upon the arrival of the Lord. I don't know how much more of a prophet that John could possibly get. And then to add to that a second approval by G-d Almighty Himself can not really be beat.
So how can you say he was never annointed?
If you're hoping to claim the Holy Spirit isn't oil, there is yet another witness or annointing included in the scriptures that is even many times labeled Jesus is annointed at Bethany. At the house of Simon, the Leper, while Yeshua was eating, a woman approached him with an alabaster jar filled with expensive perfume, which she poured on his head. Yeshua clarified that she had done a fine & beautiful thing in order to prepare him for his burial. Thus, he had been annointed for his upcoming burial.
John was a prophet, G-d is even a higher authority than a high priest, & no one would deny that pour perfume, which is oil based, is an annointing.

Gene Friedman What I said about 'back in the day' was not meant to be in derision. That assumption is as far from the truth as it gets. I used to continually visit the Karaite Korner website, because like Nehemia, I had, at a young age, quickly observed that what religious organizations teach is not always what is contained within the scriptures. As a matter of fact, what is usually taught or preached is quite the opposite. Sure, I was seeking & searching for truth coming from a Christian origins, whereas, the Karaites & Nehemia were approaching & searching for truth from Judaic & Hebraic origins. I knew & still know answers won't be found in a mainstream church, from some church leader, or in a hymnal, much in the same way that Nehemia wasn't & isn't going to find his answers in a mainstream synagogue, from some rabbi, or from the Talmud. We all have to dig.
Despite our differing origins, likeminded seekers find that truthful answers would come from the Almighty through holy scripture & the conscientious weeding out false assumptions & lies which are many times based on tradition. This sifting & filtering process is driven by constant diligent research mixed with humble prayer. It's a passion for truth which most humans can not understand that keeps a person up all night studying, both exhilarated & humbled by discoveries new to me yet eternal for G-d. The hand of Yehovah is truly involved.
I sensed the same passion present in Nehemia, that's all. I clearly recognized that same simultaneously building & revising of a righteous scriptural G-d centered framework of scriptural understanding process, guided by the spirit of holiness even in Nehemia's earlier, antiChristian writings. Everything on the Karaite Korner website sung to my soul as completely honest & genuine, that is, except for the venom towards Christianity. And I clearly understood that was the truth for him at that time. His honesty & his intense fear of false belief contaminating otherwise righteous worship was clearly exposed. It was real, genuine, & raw.
My kids used to joke, due to my studies where they led, that I wasn't a Christian, but instead a Jew. And I used to joke back that neither would want me. I followed the feasts & G-d's commands while also following Christ at a time when there seemed to be no one else anywhere who did or even condoned doing both. And I'd tell the kids that the Karaites seemed to be the closest denomination to my understanding of scripture, but the Karaites would actually be the group which would want me the very least. I'd point to my computer screen & tick off all the commonalities. That's you, mom, they'd say. But then I point to the open declaration that despised Christ as a false messiah & Christians as false believers, even pagans. Not only that they do not, even now, in any way, encourage conversion. Karaites would consider me poisonous. I'd go on to tell them I was a odd woman out, seeking for truth in virtually pagan-filled religious pastures. Even Messianic Christian movements seemed to be severely lacking in many aspects. Various ones were focused on pretending to be a Jew, others Jewish mysticism, so e exalting Jews, other downplaying Judaism & focusing on grace alone, or a myriad of major doctrinal issues. The Karaites were one of the very few religious denominations that I could find which were adamantly Scripture & Scripture Alone, actually following Torah as much as possible in the modern day, & holding to encouraging a passionate, personal search for Truth, even if discovering aspects of truth might actually destroy one's current worldview or alter one's faith.
I used to pray for everyone to discover the truth, especially Nehemia & the Karaites, because I was sure, & am still sure, truth doesn't lay in mainstream anything. The broad path leads to destruction.
Then, I was amazed & astounded when I started seeing that Nehemia was consulting with, teaching biblical Hebrew to, & befriending a Methodist pastor named Keith Johnson. I checked & double checked my resources as, initially, it was almost much too incredibly hard to believe. Nehemia, the seeker of Truth, the Torah thumper, the Christ despiser, was actually spending time with a Christian, a lot of time, exorbitant lengths of time, sharing biblical knowledge & spiritual ideas on a level playing field. I thought, Hallelujah, my studies will only be enhanced by the budding relationship. Though in a million years, I would never have believed Nehemia would eventually start studying the New Testament, a work which should have seemed more foreign, alien, & much more dangerous to him than the Talmud which he had grown up with. I never a thought Nehemia'd ever come to respect Yeshua, much less ever express a desire to meet him. Miraculous is all I can say! The hand of Yehovah definitely at work.
Yes, his walk, his path, is his. Without a doubt. But he also has made his journey quite public. Lead Karaites publicly denouncing him & many privately & publicly called for his ouster. A very strained & painful time for him. The Karaite organization wanted him to deny his friendship & working relationship with Keith. In other words, he was put to a test. The Karaites or Keith. None of that was really kept private. A man who had been so passionate & freely given so much to the group was being ridiculed & denounced when his search for truth veered into waters which were not only uncharted, but forbidden, as far as they were concerned. Many Karaites were vicious. It was almost like Nehemia was an unpopular prophet of old daring to break the status quo to declare both hidden & apparent truths. My heart went out to him. Yet Nehemia firmly stood his ground.
Nehemia speaks of his path, his journey, quite openly, & yet your comment implies that we should not, nor should we be interested. I consider him a brother under Yehovah, though he has not placed faith in the blood of Yeshua, nor may he ever. If Nehemia's scriptural insights are complete as far as he's concerned, & he never unearths another pearl of wisdom, ever, so be it. He has been a dedicated servant of Yehovah, diligently seeking out truth & wisdom, in faith, while waiting on the Messiah to come. And we know from scripture, the Messiah must come, for YHVH does not lie.
I'm sorry if offends you that observers everywhere are interested in his spiritual journey, his personal exodus, which has taken a rabbi's son from his hometown of Chicago to living in Jerusalem, much like it took former veteran Michael Rood from Michigan to also residing in the Holy City.
I did not deride Nehemia's past, in the same way I would not deride an adult child's kindergarten artwork. The journey is precious. The still portraits are endearing. Due to my studies, I almost feel as if I were part of his ride, though that couldn't be farther from the truth. I'm just an observer who feels like I'm part of it all. It's just Nehemia's excitement & giddiness when revealing discoveries is so infectious & causes a sense of familiarity for most viewers. He has the gift of zeal & it comes across that he wants people to be on the edge of their seat as excited as he is about G-d. That zeal has spread toward the Jewishness of Yeshua, so much so he's written & cowritten multiple books on the subject. His hatred & fear of Jesus turned into respect & understanding. Yeshua is no longer Nehemia's enemy or for. Of course, many Torah-believing, Feastkeeping Christains are just waiting for the day Nehemia may possibly announce..., but only time will tell.
It is not a secret that the scriptures say that in the last days the scales will fall from the eyes of the Jews. So, who knows? Nehemia could possibly end up with a personal "Saul of Taurus on his way to Damascus" moment. It could be kept private for no human eyes to see, but there is nothing wrong for such becoming public either. No one hides the light under a basket.

I saw this when you first posted it, but I've continued learning language since then, and coming back to this context is interesting. At 7:30, you point out the Hebrew word here is "Etzel" which is closer to "next to" than the common English translation of "with." BUT... the Greek word here is πρὸς (Pros), which isn't just "with" but closer to "face to face with." So, that seems to be consistent.
Although, we can't ignore the convenient skip over translation at 7:27 of "Ha'elohim hu hayah ha'davar." John 1:1c has always been contentious, and my Hebrew isn't good enough to have a good explanation for how such a phrase can exist immediately sandwhiched by this word being "pros/etzel" elohim.
But, my greek's not bad: ὁ Λόγος ἦν πρὸς τὸν Θεόν (Greek makes it simple and clear that "logos" is the subject of the sentence, and he is "pros" (face to face with a distinct individual) Ton Theon (God, in the accusative case, again differentiating him from the subject of the sentence).
The sentence continues: "καὶ Θεὸς ἦν ὁ Λόγος." Here, the same definite subject of the sentence is "ho Logos" The Word. But "theos" also ends in that nominative sigma. Why? Because it's specifically NOT indicating that the word WAS "the God he was with/next to/face to face with." Rather this is a predicate. A qualitative description of "the Word" being the image of God, rather than BEING God... not heretical as we're also made in his image to some extent... Yet, MOST of us are not confused enough to conflate ourselves with God.
He is not a "God" as if there could be two, but godly, in the context of Psalm 82:6, as any son of God can be.
So... the people who know Hebrew better than me... what do you think of the third clause in the Hebrew version? Like the Greek, the simple direct translation would be "The God himself was the Word" But, since both have definite articles here, it's beyond my grammatical level.
Has any effort been made to the date these manuscripts? We know they had to have been written sometime after the mesoretes invented the vowel pointing system somewhere between 600 to 1000 CE....
I would just like to know, does the manuscript found in the Vatican of Matthew contain the textual variant about Joseph being the father of Mary?

From what I have heard I currently believe that Matthew was originally written in Hebrew. Is there a possibility that other gospels were also originated in Hebrew or written in Hebrew dining the author’s lifetime?

Dear Nehemiah, Im no Hebrew scholar, but there are masorah or pronunciation guides concerning vowel sounds in the text from Gospel of John from which you read. Given that the Masorer compiled the Masoretic Text between 7th century and 10th century AD or CE, then your text would date from during at after this period rendering it non-ancient. Am I correct here?

Vowel and cantillation marks were added to the older consonantal layer of the Bible between 600 CE and the beginning of the 10th century. The scholars who preserved the pronunciation of the Bibles were known as the Masoretes. It would be interesting to ascertain the dating of these junk box texts, as Hebrew vowels were not introduced until 600ce and 10th century. What shame they did not discover the looted Old Temple treasures, now that would really be exciting.

These gospels are translations of the Greek, I state. The one word is more than enough: "without craftiness"--this is a most Greekish denotation of two Greek morphemes. It is not normally used in other languages. This is what explains your wondering about the meaning used.
Also, if stupid things are repeated many times, they do NOT become true. There is no eye that can find 'Adonai'-vowels in the word 'Jehovah'--that was a theory which is unworthy of being called theoLOGY, which would be "science." I wish you shall acquire better things. Blessings on you!

It just crossed my mind that perhaps the discussion about the pronunciation of The Name is a diversion. Exodus 3:14-15. "I am" (haya) is my name forever, and thus I am to be remembered throughout all generations." Is this "the name" upon which we are to call? It all seems a bit muddy to me and I'm trying to sort it out. Any thoughts?

If you have any time in your busy schedule, I would love to hear your thoughts on the Hebrew language (that YeHo-shua spoke in his ministry) passage found at Luke 16:19-31 please? I know that there is no such place as "hell" as I am sure the Keraites agree, and I do not believe that YeHo-shua was inferring that such a place exists but that in this parable it is a condition of torment that the Pharisees would experience after the destruction of their hierarchy. This is very interesting but one thing we do know is that those texts are not the originals because it has vowel points which would not be in the original.
It may be a copy of the original in which vowel was added and thus not proving the pronunciation of the Tetagramaton which I believe is possibly pronounce as Yahuwah ot Yahuvah.

Of course the text you were reading is a relatively recent, but word for word, is in identical meaning. The question I have is why haven't you believed God's Word and trusted the La'donai Yeshua as your Meshiah?

I think it would be prudent to note WHEN these manuscripts date from. If the question is the Ancient Pronunciation of names like Yehowah and Yeshu'a and these manuscripts come from a rather late date, some might not see this as compelling evidence of accuracy of transmission, although personally, I don't dispute these pronunciations.
