T-dub can burn a little bit of oil when the engine is running hot, always got to check oil at every start. jetting the carb and making the fuel air mix a bit richer will keep the engine cool and give you more power up hills. Down side to jetting carb is it wont' like high altitudes. I also use a 44 tooth rear sprocket on my t-dub to keep engine RPM down on long trips.
Damn sorry to see your TDUB's motor is bad is that common? I thought that motor was close to being bullet proof, strange. When you did your oil change that was the right oil viscosity wasn't it. Patrolling the Mojave almost makes the TW wish for a nuclear winter.
Oil and water levels were good?
Yes on the oil, and n/a on the water. These are air-cooled motors, to no coolant needed.
Well shit, that sucks. Good video though. Pro tip, when you vlog, look into the lens of the camera not the screen. Looking forward to more, thanks!
If your going to take these trips why not put one of those spare gallon gas cans on the back ?? Owww I just saw the end, DAMN..
I dont know whats going on I didnt look at any other post but sorry to see that mishap, its so unlikely on a Yamaha.. Could it be Oil??
I'm ugly and I'm proud
Far from ugly!
Try being ugly and quiet!
Not gonna lie this convinced me not to get one. 30K expected engine life is already bad, but 15K and needing a rebuild is practically Chinese budget motorbike quality.
They are awesome simple bikes that will go forever as long as you don't go wide open for 2 years straight while it's 100+ degrees outside lol. That's what killed it . Luckily parts are cheap. TW's arnt for everyone though . If you need to do a lot of highway get a different platform
@@dualdorks Yeah but I was planning on keeping it wide open too! Also plan on maybe half highway use so it's probably not the right tool for the job for me in the first place as cool as it is.
Pretty girl but broken motorcycle. Ain't that how life goes.
Check my tw 2 stroke mate
"people ask me why do i ride a small bike........" what the H is to you? you paying for everything?
