@@felipegomez7302 And a good songwriter when it comes to arranging drums for a track. I saw a video here on youtube of Joy Jordison and Dave Lombardo filling in for Lars some years ago. Becaus he had to go to the hospital or something. And sounded pretty crappy compare to the original. They played on tempo and everything like that. But it was much more generic and was really lacking the feel. It was Sandman (Joy Jordison) the worst version I have heard of it and Battery (Dave Lombardo) at least beter then Jordison. - So you see. Lars is needed for the drums in Metallica. Especially on the first 4 albums. So much more then just a fun guy.
"Frantic","St Anger" or even "Purify", "All within my hands" and the exeptional "Unamed Feeling" should have more frequent presence in their setlist. Half the album at least is very good and it sounds so much better live, it brings out a blended thrash/punk/garage feeling! The fact that this one was performed under that Manchester rain made it even more badass.

And again at 3:05
The beginning when it goes from James singing in a clean soft type way to heavy just gives me chills every time
I feel like more people appreciate St. Anger for what it is now. The fact that Metallica are still playing this and Frantic to this day show that they can embrace that fact that Anger is the least favored record but they still try to keep some of the song relevant is awesome. Gotta respect that.

ToyBonnieTheDankMeme Not Death Magnetic?
@@krishdutta5466 Death Magnetic is my Favorite Metallica Album.
ToyBonnieTheDankMeme hardwired is better than st anger
@@dablindscooter1973 Hardwired to me Felt like a Remake of their Older Stuff... St. Anger was Different, And I respect Difference.
No it's their worst. Tied for last with load and reload
St anger finally played with the snare sound it deserves
This should be in every setlist. Period.
You guys look amazing...I hope we have Metallica for another 10-15 years🎸🤘🏻❤
Keep on Rocking You guys!
Looks like Kirk knew when to put in solos after all;)
It was not his fault there were no solos, he wanted solos on the album
It sucked. St Anger wasn't meant for leads
He always knew where they should go. He fought very hard to get solos in. Bob is to blame
@@rayacosta4782 your comment sucks. You were not meant to be heard
@@peoplevsradio317 Certain children should only be seen and never heard.
St Anger is my favourite Metallica album in terms of songwriting and raw brutality - love the passion on it and it’s great hearing the songs live again!
That being said I can understand the flak it gets - the mixing on their albums starting with St Anger have been dreadful
St. Anger is a great album.
Yes, I am a masochist
And I stand by my decision
What masochist, if you are gigachad, man.
St. Anger is masterpiece.
@@suzumebachi it seems I stand not corrected, I love St Anger
@@GingaNinja736 yeah, i've understood, buuut...
Ahh... Nevermind, it is too hard to explain, so just enjoy it! I just tried to do some kind of joke, but that one didn't go through...
St Anger love is a great and powerfull song. The album version.....
I know its wayyyy to underrated
St. Anger never gets respect...
Awesome video of an awesome perfomance.
Long life to Metallica.
Wonderful, Admirable, Awesome, Amazing, Excellent, Powerful.... Metallica is 100% waterproof !!!! I Luv it !!!
It's so satisfying to hear it with a guitar solo and an actual snare.
They know they sound so good live they don't have any effects or some kinda show on stage. 100% music. Best band ever.
Bob Rock: solos dont fit the songs
Kirk: hold my beer
*hold my wah
The solo really was out of place, though. Probably would have worked better if the song was written with one in mind, rather than adding a solo on to a song years after it was already written and recorded.
Didn't like that solo at all. Sounded really outta place
Lars
Yeah wait
I bought tickets for my boyfriend to this show, he was soo happy and we enjoyed every minute of it. It was his first concert and my first time seeing Metallica or anything like it. Definitely a Metallica fan for life now. Manchester 2019 18th June, a day I’ll remember 🎸 thank you Metallica🤟🏼
1:58 the guard on the lower left is bangin' his head
I love how Robert interacts with the crowd and energy on stage.
This sounds amazing live🤘🔥
St anger made me a metallica fan back in 2003
I’m sorry to hear that
@@Tastyduckling5 lol😂😂😂😂
really?
Amazing drums, amazing vocals, amazing everything.
4:33 when you finally spit out the bone
Ahhahahahahaa great joke man🤙🏻🤙🏻
Always thought about that
Best stage design!!!! SWEEET!!!!! ☠️☠️💀💀 Bands this phenomenal are their own genre, nobody tops this, not even close!!! 🧟♀️🧟♂️
Lars' face at 4:33...awesome!
EDIT: 4:41 and 4:46 too. Looks like the boys are really enjoying the weather.
Jeff C Had a right old laugh when i saw that looks like he was laughing because the amount of water surprised him 😂😂😂
Imagine Jason on backing vocals
Get over it pal... He hasnt been in the band for 17 years! Jason isn't even good enough to be Robert's guitar tech.
Cainan Cornelius HE FOCKIN LEFT THE BAND
@@definitelynotcainan3353 he might not be as technically gifted as Rob but he had a slick heavy tone, check out his bass tracks for AJFA and Black album. Also Rob can't sing for shit and doesn't have slither of stage presence Jason had.
@@definitelynotcainan3353
Get over it? How about you get over the fact that Metallica aren't that good anymore.
@@ProjectCreativityGuy96 That aint true
I love this song. I love how raw it is. I love how its pure aggression. Like no other metallica song.
0:35 holy, that snare sound amazing!!!
I WAS AT THIS CONCERT AND IT WAS THE BEST DAY OF MY LIFE. THANKYOU GOD FOR CREATING THESE MEN.🇬🇧🤘🏻
God isn't real
Dog is real
Wow! The record version is god awful but this live version gave me chills. Great singing, Kirk ripped a solo that was bad ass, bass sounded grittier and more pronounced, drums were tight and heavy, and just in your face awesome!
Lars is such a showman in every performance of theirs. Nobody actually praises that. They always mock him and forget that point!!
If you are a drummer your priority should be to play well... if you play good you can be wherever you want. Lars is just a fun guy but technically very limited
@@felipegomez7302 truth spoken
Check the slane castle Ireland set they played frantic live. I was there it was awesome
St. Anger + Rain + Wah Wah Solo.... EPIC! 🤯
2003: St. Anger smashes your skull in
2019: Nothing has changed
nah it sounds like shit on the album
I loved the songs... it’s the production that made this album blow
Many years after the album came out as the most divisive of their discography, they still stand by what they made and proudly play its music. All Within My Hands from S&M2 is one of my favorite live performances of that song.
