Why cant you use a 4wheeler or snow mobile on the ice there? I just moved to nepa and was going to start ice fishing here. Where I lived in NY we could. Is it a regulations thing with pa?

Have you figured out how to stabilize the sled more so the hinges won't fold ot tweak on you. I am moding a 1 man flip over with the same hinges.

Mike Boone, I actually just purchased a used Eskimo Eskape 2800. I'm going to completely change how I pull my sled on the ice but I think you will be just fine with this setup on your one man.

    How did the skis work?

Brian, The Skis/Hinges did ok for a while but one day out on the ice they buckled. I blame myself and not the hinge mechanism. I just had too much weight in my sled. I have since downsized my sled and what I take with me. I also removed the decking that I made for inside the sled so I could shed some weight. the decking alone was like 40 lbs. I wouldn't be afraid to use the hinges again since the weight is greatly reduced. They did great when there was 10" of snow on the ice. They sliced through it like butter, not all that surface area on the ice to pull the sled through. Man I really need to do some updates on my videos and get more uploaded.
