Finished up the modifications to our Jason Mitchell Thermal X ice shack (fish trap). Installed a carpeted platform with multiple storage areas, jig glow cups, electronic switch controls, and numerous light sources! Turned out great! Can't wait to get it out on the ice!

Yeah! Lmao! Because when you get to the camp area of choice, any person would like to enjoy thier stay within comfort! So a few lights and added nessisary items isn't the end of the world! I think that makes for more fun! Awesome clean work!

Turned out sweet! Nice job. They make heat shrink butt connectors now with a low temp solder ring built in. A heat gun is all u need and you get perfect soldered, heat shrunk splices with ease. I bought mine on eBay. Use them for everything now.

The wind! Kind of knew it was coming, but withe initial report of 6 inches around the area I was hopeful it wouldn't open too much. We are good waiting a bit longer, better safe than sorry.

Great job! Make sure you foam out electronics bins with seat foam or similar. Bouncing around during transport is what usually destroys them. I would do same with battery box.
Cutting in the new batteries into higher density foam. Should secure them nicely!

I have seen these donw with an 18 volt electric drill battery to run LED lights. IT will run for days on one charge and it weighs a lot less than a car battery (and no acid).

Red lake is nice, but we get just as good fishing 200 miles south of there in my part of MN without the crowding. We have nice crappies, beautiful sunnies, and great walleye. My brother and I were out hitting the sunnies pretty good the other night just a short walk from the access.

This is cool. Unfortunately mine tops out over 160 with gear and I pull by hand. Straight line drags are okay but having to turn is tough and going up a hill is killer.

Nice. Instead of lighted cup holders, I think a disco ball would be better. Might attract the fish. As long as were talking about overkill items, why not? Haha
The sliding seat hardware is heavy. You might have not added any weight by taking out those sliders. That battery would have added a bit though.

Where did you get the milk crates from? Walmart has the cheap plastic ones unfortunately.

What kind of battery’s did you use
I just had some basic 12-volt batteries, nothing had a very substantial draw. Switched over to lithium for this year.

Man you do good work! I just ordered my Clam X400 Thermal Flip Shelter...should be here in about a week. I'm going to run it stock for this ice season so I can get a really good feel as to what mods I need to do with it. I think I might have to take a few pages out of you trip my trap book cause I'm totally digging your style! The one thing that I for sure am going to to is buy a few used skis online and use them because of how much it weighs (170# stock). Can't wait for your hard water fishing videos for this season!!! As always, tight lines and keep posting awesome content!
