    Nice build! I have the X 100 pro thermal. I’m building a storage compartment over the angled part of the sled in the back and a divider on the one side from front of house to back to mount my rods like you did. I chose to go with coroplast instead of HDPE. The coroplast is way lighter than even the 1/8 inch HDPE. Thinking about putting carpet in the rod compartment side. So my question is, did you make the carpet easily removable on each side? We all know how much water gets built up in the bottom of the sled sometimes and I like to dry it out.

      The carpet is all one piece and I have never had an issue with water in the bottom or not drying out.

    Sweet shack. Clam makes some really nice stuff nowadays. I remember way back when their ice armor was pretty piss poor. Now I wear it over Sims gear.
    Keep slayin em!

    Nicely done. I have a Kenai Pro Thermal as well and built it out, a little differently than yours. I really like what you have done here, and I may have to get some of that plastic sheet material to replace the plywood I used in mine, would be much more resilient. Sweet setup. I actually built mine with a buddy heater mounted to the side of the tub in the back and use a flexible duct to go under the battery box and routes to a computer fan mounted on the tub, gives me a forced air down to the ice without putting the buddy heater down on the ice. Since the tub is so deep on the Kenai it works really well, warms the "fishing space" up by at least 30 degrees on a really cold day and helps keep the feet warm.

    Dude.. that's badass! Clean work... I like it. While watching, I thought... this guy has gotta be an engineer of some sort. Then, I saw the CAD drawing. lol. If you have plans for sale, let me know. I run AutoCad and Solidworks. I just got the Kenai Thermal. Not as nice looking, but it'll work.

    Wow! That is awesome! Thanks for sharing. My wife just purchased a Kenai for me for Christmas and I am excited to modify it. I really like what you have done with your shack. I found the list of links for the accessories in another reply and it was easy to locate the Clam items. I’m wondering if you have a detailed drawing or plan with measurements of your center-box build for the heater and tackle boxes. That is genius! Thanks!!!

    • @shawnu22
      @shawnu22  2 роки тому +1

      Hi William, I did the layout in CAD but didn't use it as a template. It really requires build to fit. I fish with three guys and all have a Kenia and all would measure slightly different. Also, you would want to build the "box" to fit your particular flasher, mine is a Marcum Shuttle with a 7" Garmin fish finder and a camera. I did rivet the box together but that was a lot of work and not sure I would do that again! LOL Best of luck, keep it light and enjoy the process.

      @@shawnu22 Thanks! I completely understand. I'm considering putting Seadek material in mine instead of carpet. I recently installed it on my Jon Boat and love it better than the carpet I had. Might be an upgrade for your next mod. I did want to ask if you used a full sheet of the HDPE or would a half sheet be sufficient?
