Hey Mav, the end of 2023 was a horrible year for me, as both my parents got diagnosed with cancer within 3 months, your videos every week keep my mind at bay, they really let me just turn off my brain and enjoy your wholesome content, you are so genuine and its great to watch everything you do, keep it up man, you're one of the good one.

That is horrible!!! I hope they caught it in time and they are being treated for that most serious illness. I hope they recover fully and can join you in enjoying Mavs content.

Dude I'm a 63 year old that 😊 has been camping probably a number of times I can fit on one hand. I live vicariously through you. I find myself yelling at you talking to you telling you what to do what not to do. Like this last video where you forgot your ice pics I yelled at you for that sorry but I love you keep on trucking bro.

Mav you should get a thick plastic bottle before going to bed boil some water then put the bottle in your sleep bag it should help keep warm

Glad to see you're out there. 👍 Just did lake of the woods trip last week. We were one of the first they allowed to drive out. A little over 12" of ice. Not as many fish as I'd hoped (41 fish in 2.5 days), but almost all keeper walleye and Sauger. Even a small burbot. Hopefully you and Murray will be able to fish before the season ends. If it's to cold outside your propane won't work. Try putting something around your propane tank to protect from the cold. Also, you should make sure you have a full tank😊😊

Hey Mav great video! I’ve learned often times when the fish are finicky, a small tungsten jig (4-5 mm) and a minnow are the ticket to getting them to bite!
I am happy that you made it out on the ice finally. That is great Mav! It is currently -3 degrees here in St. Paul as I write this so you will hopefully have many more good ice fishing days in the coming weeks. Great video!

We had people water skiing & fishing in their boats a couple weeks ago in my area of Minnesota according to the newspaper. Sure is cold now though. -6 as I watch this & that is the high temp for the day.

If all else fails, bring your foot warmers that stick to your feet. Or the adapter to hook up a big tank to that buddy heater so you can use a larger tank.

You can get a rechargeable fan to blow the warm air down from the ceiling of your shack. Makes a huge difference to keep lower half weather. Tight lines!
When I was a kid we got a bucket to sit on and a manual auger. We dressed warm but still froze our arses off. And loved every minute of it. Thanks for the memory flash.
Same type of weather going on over here in Nova Scotia. It’s nice to have a break from shovelling, but id take a bit of shovelling to be able to get some actual skiing in this season. Last winter was quite similar too, unfortunately. We’ve been having wind storms the strength of tropical storms every other week. It sure does make it hard to enjoy this time of year😕

It’s 4 degrees here as I watch the newest post. Here in the South we don’t hardly move below freezing and there you are on a foot of ice and you don’t even look like you’re bothered by it.
I bet a good curry with the perch would be a dish. I love fried fish and that one looked great.

Mav, you absolutely saved maybe half that oil, i use a tin can or larger to catch and reuse my oil, can't be wasting peanut oil at this cost, loving the videos dude!!
Here in the great state of Arkansas. We have cold enough weather for ice. Not be thick enough to fish on, but there is ice.

I had good ice, 4-5 inches, 2 days later it snowed 10 inches, plugged a few holes and the water erupted out like volcanoes, flooded the whole area I cleared in minutes. Fun stuff, however after moving to the docks, I landed a few trout, stay safe everyone!!

I find my little buddy heater is usually good for almost 8 hours on a 1 lb tank ,mind you my tent is only a two person tent so I can turn it down to low after it warms up 👍🇨🇦
