When you ask: what made me so desperate for love in the first place? You get to child hood trauma. At least for me. I have incredibly selfish narcissistic parents who only focus on themselves. I can never really get them to focus on what i need & what i want & care about what i care about.
So i have had to be so self focused. I’ve had to learn to be more self interested.
I was deprived of love growing up. And i was confused as to why i was so needy & desperate & a people pleaser.
I was dealing with selfish self centered people/narcissists.
I am a recovering empath/people pleaser.
Yes me too. I never wanted someone too established or sophisticated or older and too mature. I was so used to immaturity around me and inside of me that i was asking the Universe for what i was familiar with.

I was a bit of a pick me as well.
I was very high maintenance to myself. Like the patriarchy required me to be super pretty and proper and i had to be low maintenance for the man to take care of me.

I agree with you, I've always dated men who've had "less than me" or that I've had to build up. You made me realize I only wanted those kind because I thought they would appreciate me and stick with me. I learned the hard way that they don't appreciate it and sometimes even treat you worse. Currently I'm not looking to date but if the right one comes along I think I would give it a try.
So real i was talking to some dude online and he had sooo many red flags i finally realized how much he was disrespectful to me after bc i just got fed up and had blocked him one day. (this was a few days ago LOL) but im learning that i should not be putting up with someone i dont even like fr especially onlineee 😭

Thank you so much for this video I learned how to set boundaries which I thought I was doing but turns out I let someone do the same things I said I would never allow because of "love" and trying to hold him down. This helped me realize I can stand on my own and that i can no longer continue to compromise myself or my peace for anyone, and as a younger lady I am glad I got to know this and see this before I got older and to know that there are women out there willing to give this advice.

I hope you know men deal with the same issues, and can often be so extreme to the point men kill themselves over it. A lot of women forget men have a lot that is expected of them in society as well if not more. We are expected to be able to provide for our family, not show emotional weakness, and work regardless of physical pain. However as a man our expectations are starting to feel like they are getting unrealistic. Expecting to be with a man that makes 6 figures is unrealistic. Expecting a man to be 6 foot is unrealistic. Expecting a bad man to treat you nicely is unrealistic. A mans world is much different than a womens world which is often misunderstood. A good relationship requires a lot Communication and understanding which most people don't have these days.
I don’t disagree with what you are saying but wanting a man to be 6ft is not unrealistic. There are a lot of men that are 6ft & taller. That preference is not unrealistic at all.

Everything you said is spot on. Once again in your life should not be revolving around the person that you were talking to especially when y’all are just talking. These people aren’t even wife’s husband or significant others. These are literally people that have us an extended talking stages that we didn’t even consensually sign up for. Many of us were manipulated into thinking that the talking stage would lead to an actual relationship.
