I'm honored you made a video just for my question 😁 your videos are getting better and better! You mentioned all my same thoughts: 1) I love the TT02 as a touring car and buggy but as a tracked off road "trail truck" it doesn't seem to be the right chassis. 2) Way over $300 for a TT02?? Hell no! It's supposed to be an entry level chassis 3) I wasn't sure about the durability of the track system But! There are some cool things about it that I do like: 1) The inner lexan dust shield needs to be available separately. All TT02s could use this, especially the touring cars. People forget how much dust on road cars pick up because of their wheels being under the fenders. 2) I love the Land Freeder body (technically originally a Bush Devil body) and I miss and regret selling my Black Edition CC01 3) The included 35T crawler motor is a very unique and cool addition 4) Ironically as much as I think it's dumb they picked the TT02 chassis, I also love that it's a TT02 because it makes a very versatile chassis even more versatile!
The dust shield is available separately in Europe, just started appearing in online stores a like a week ago, I ordered a few, because they looked quite competent. Nice to have rex confirm that its a good splashshield. :D
I'm sorry about the lack of videos 😅 I recently graduated with my engineering degree in the spring and the year has been busy with jobs and basically getting my adult life off the ground. I can't wait to build and make videos again! Until then I'll get my fix from your videos 😁. Best wishes from Michigan (which I desperately wish was part of Canada)
agreed, thats why the kyosho scorpion series and the srb series is super intriguing to me as model rc cars, they are protected boxes in the middle of a model lol
Hey man awesome vid. Probably one of the first times someone has had a good reason to run bushings instead of bearings, totally get that you can always instantly atomize the rc vehicle after you run. I was thinking, could perhaps put a few ballbearings into the internals, like the spur and driveshaft, espessially if that splashcover does its work well :D Anyway, doubt the friction loss would gain much, as its probably mostly lost in the trackunits anyway. :D Its a fun thing to watch dig its way through stuff. Almost want one now myself, gotta hide the credit card till xmas I think, haha :D
well I just subcribed to you, start sharing your experience with us, and maybe something magically elfy could happen to you also! thank you your feedback, I know it takes time to type but sharing the thoughts you had while watching is important in world development. I will change main bushings over to bearings for sure the next time I tear this thing down, Im even considering just biting the bullet and stuffing sealed bearings everywhere and dousing it in wd-40 before each run lolol. I cant wait to find out how it goes in the snow and share it!
Looks like fun for the snow Rex. That fishing line looked like a mess though! I would save it from further wear on the rough terrain and use it for winter bashing. Heck if we had the snow you guys get I would get some more tracks for a few other buggies and have a winter race season!! TD4 quad track possible??? Great video as always dude 🙌🏻
fun in snow is what I hope! it was the main reason for me to get this vehicle. td4 on tracks?!?!? lol the tracks would be worn down in no time lol. did you see rcdrivers new video? he just showed the box for the tracks on their own! you can buy them on their own!
I use plastic bushes in gearbox that are glued in with CA glue for scale sport/touring. It is insanely smooth and long lasting. :) I think… lol You have not lived until you tried it :) my lunchbox gearset I did is actually blissfully scale in motion(gearbox)
Light to medium grease like Tamiya AW grease. If you do this it removes a lot of little jiggly bits. So it’s just motor and tires you feel/hear: I am tired of wasting crap bearings in sets because they have a lump in them anyway.
Hi Rexy, sweeeeeeeeet video, i love the tracked freedlander, it’s just so twee/weird it’s actually nice, i really love the colour scheme you put on it, you just can’t go wrong with red, white and blue, yee olde stripes and starrrs, lol 😂. Do you know the parts number for the dust shield or the complete body set. 😎👍👍👍🇬🇧
correct, one of the best colorways in the world, and looks ridiculously great on any race vehicle. sadly I dont know if the dust shield has a part number at this time
@@philthyco1 That means a lot man... I didnt start the channel for that, originally it was to make videos for myself and use youtube as a free cloud to document my journey, but people like you who leave feedback, tips and questions made it more than just a video dump for me, its inspired me to put forth more effort in sharing the experience

its all part of your journey! enjoy it as much as you can
Great dude...looking perfect car for mud/snow...
Keep going champ👑
Interesting! It looks like a Mars exploration rover in classic Tamiya fashion !
hmmm....youve given me an idea! maybe make it look martian rover like!
Very cool kit it has to be a beast good idea on the bearings. I think all kits could use a dust cover would help them all.

That bouncy driver trick is so clever and creative! Keep up the great work, man 👍
Thanks! your feedback tells me I should share more of what Ive done to my cars. cheers and dont be a stranger!

I've been running plastic bushings in my scx10 for years because they don't rust up when you do creek crawling
It is different that's for sure, pretty cool I always like the weird RC stuff... Fishing string caught in a RC is no fun!
got caught up in fishing line 3 times!
