My name is Rex and this is my RC channel
I like playing with RC's and messing with things, tuning, etc. I've been in the hobby for 20+ years, spent much of that inside an actual hobby shop with access to a plethora of models throughout the years. I use to ignore Tamiya, now Im discovering all they have to offer
MOST of my videos are driven and filmed by myself alone. Videos are filmed on my cell phone (iphone XR and now iphone 14), edited on my cell phone, and uploaded from my cell phone, and best viewed on a cell phone. Once in a while I’ll use a gopro session 5
MAKE IT A GREAT DAY!

I love you channel and this rwd tt-02 project. Would you prefere this rwd tt-02 over your bt-01 in front-engine/rwd spec?
Hey Man I've been looking at this thing for a couple of weeks and thanks to your very informative video I will go ahead and buy it, Excellent content Cheers.
I bought the Dancing Rider some time ago and made the Wayne Gardner pension spec racer to go long with my original Kyosho NSR500. It's running a cheapo brushless combo and will wheelie nicely! A bit bonkers really. Fun on the track though. I also picked up the Tamico limited version but not built that. Then yesterday.. I was weak and found a Dual Rider at my local shop. I'll switch the brushless setup into this Dual Rider and make a bit of a mad thing from it. it's a shame they are now discontinued but I guess just a bit whacky for the majority of the Tamiya people.
love this format with work being done in the background with a history lesson voiceover
You drive a FRS, right? ;)
Yessir, brz
@@rexrcs the engine sound is quite unique. I have the GR86. thanks for this video. best one one youtube to explain the different configurations of the bt-01!
How 💩 crap
Yes. This comment is very crap. Add some context for less crap.
Hey Rex, just want to thank you for the inspiration. Im setting up a DT-02 with the Rough Rider body.
Right on! Thanks
So the steering limiter is there for AWD so the shafts don't pop out or bind up, You can remove the steering limiter if you are running RWD.
What a brilliant presentation this was, how is your channel not bigger?... you were made for this!
Thanks for the insight. I put a lunchbox on my wishlist 😊
Hope you enjoy it!
Hey man, I just found your channel awesome video! I just got mine built and was playing with it. Do you have a recommendation for a servo saver upgrade? It seems like the kit one is super loose and has a lot of play in it letting the car wonder in one direction or the other. Thanks!
Yes, I would recommend either using an XRAY servo saver or the Tamiya High Torque Servo Saver, both with the longer horn option
How about making it RWD? Centre propshaft and front dogbones out, leave in the front gearbox to add some weight to help with front end grip for steering................
Great thinking, Look through my channel, it was done and Ive got a couple videos of it, with the escort body
Really great info. I'm in the middle of building my first m08 chassis for a miata.
Right on, have fun!
Did you have the drive shaft pop out on the rear? I built mine in the high setting and the rear drive shaft keeps coming out ☹️
Add rubber orings in the drive cups to help keep the dogbone centered
Only if HPU could install driveshafts instead of those belts! The rear one snaps the most.
good video, good info, and well presented. thank you for making this,
Glad you enjoyed it!

I got one for Christmas when I was 12 years old. If you superglue the holes in the wheels it will actually float in water. A few years later I purchased an Associated RC10 1/10 scale 2wd buggy and started racing. After that I went to a Losi XX buggy. Those were fun times and definitely a lot cheaper than the big toys I build today.
It's really fun to watch racing mini chassis ! 😍
It really is!
Very cool. I have one coming in a few days. Always wanted to build one.
For a model that can be turned into an rc back then this was pretty awesome! Im excited for you!
@@rexrcs I'm finally able to buy the rc cars I wanted when I was 12.
Props to the camera operator for all those close-up shots!
Thanks! Not easy driving and filming at the same time 😅
Some say the mf01x is a nightmare to drive, can you tell me if its worth it to buy with shock oil and sport tuned motor?
Have a look for my mini tuning video and my other mf-01x videos, I think you’ll gain a lot of info from them , after you watch them let me know and we can chat in detail
Hey bro, I really like the m-06 chassie and I would like to build a rally car with this chassis, is it possible to do so and can this chassis be made durable enough to handle 15mph rally racing with tamiya block rally tires.
You can certainly make almost anything a rally car with the right adjustments or mods, however I would be weary of the rwd aspect of this chassis, one of the harder drivetrains to keep stable off road, being an M06 though means the weight of the motor in the back will certainly help with traction back there
@rexrcs Thanks Rex for your response !😊
Love that slo-mo 45 footage!
Epic dude
Hello from New Zealand, awesome channel bro, I've just got done with my tt-02 rally build, I've put a 10.5t motor in it and loads of upgrades and mods to make it suitable for the backyard dirt track. Subscribed 👍🏻
Very cool!
Never really wanted a Wild one till I saw this, very surprised at how well it moves, the back just digs in and goes!
really enjoyed watching this, so glad you have the BT-01 still and have not moved it on
cool looking Porsche, I need to go and fine the videos on this build
Great video, thanks for not "Bashing it".
No problem 👍 thanks for stopping in!
Nice Car, just get mine. Do you remember which driver figure you put in?
I used the single driver racing cockpit from tamiya
Great setup video for the F103, really useful 👍
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for stopping in
What kind of suspension changes did you make? Did you use softer springs and what shocks did you use?
I made several changes, custom taller shock towers and longer suspension, i used super soft springs and took the oil out of the shocks
Looks like you SCREWED up a little............
🤣
how many body mounts have you broken, when i was 13 i had one of these and a never ending source off annoyance was the body mounts they were made out of the same fragile plastic and the grill and side pipe on the body are made of, they were forever snapping what was more annoying was when you bought the replacement you had to buy the whole chrome body kit
I have read about that common issue, luckily I didnt break any while playing with it but I didnt do much extreme driving with it, just blasting across flat lands and hopping curbs lol
Dude, always good stuff man!!!!! Good to see you making videos again now & then.....
I appreciate it! More to come hopefully but Ive been so busy lately
Great driving and spectacular camera angles 👍👍 many greetings Heiko 😊
Many thanks
One of my favorites of your builds :) It runs so well! Way better than Tamiya's own TT02 "rally" kits
Aww thanks! I agree, stock TT rally mode doesnt cut it
It has been a while since I have seen the TT-02RX!!! Great little spot to run it, the "Moon stage" of the rally with the giant craters looked fun! Glad to see you out having some fun as well my friend! Take care and have a great week!
Thanks Addam! Yeah I’ve been pretty busy not a lot of time for rc lately, sad but I’ll be back!
What's up dude I just ordered one for me and the grandson ro mess with nice work
Nice! Did you get them yet? Way more capable than i expected at first
Cool rally Porsche. Looks like a fun place to run it too.😊
It was! I absolutely love this build
So it seems to move with the 27t and gearing change, so I am wondering why the 25.5t I have is so much slower... I don't get it :)
25.5 is slower rpm that 27 turn Mabuchi depending on the motor, the gear ratios meant for 25.5 are crazy high (low numbers technically)
Very cool running video Rex.
Thanks for coming Dirk!
She moves great for 2WD. Nicely built, Rex.
Cheating with a gyro, although it has gone through a lot of tuning to get here
Handling nice being 2wd
Right!?
There is a new bt01kit with the that body on it with wider rear tires on it then the front.
Gorgeous
Great stuff Rex 🙌🏻
Thanks!!!
I have avoided the tt-02 and now I want one just to build one of these! Tamiya needs to do more original kits and stop beating the dead horse that the tt-02 has become. A 2wd rally tt-02 is very original for the chassis. I really like this car. Nice job!!!
Its a great base chassis for custom builds imo, cheap and many available parts
You can use plasticiser on old plastic parts to get rid of the brittleness. .
Interesting 🤔
@@rexrcs this is another way of doing it: ua-cam.com/video/1Nf0NZs1sWI/v-deo.html
You have a great channel here, Love the bb-01, goes really well.
Thanks a lot! I’m glad you enjoyed, what motor and gearing are you running?
@@rexrcs I don't have a BB01, But your one is great. great build.
