Thank you REM for your comment and thank you for watching! Seeing your avocado trees, you are going to have a great 2024 like you did in 2023! Thank you for watching!
Thank you Derek for your comment and thank you for watching! I am sure you are going to enjoy your Pinkerton. Can't beat a homegrown Pinkerton. Thank you for watching!
The day after you harvested the Reed I followed your lead and harvested three from my two trees! The first one finally ripened after 10 days and I'm gonna eat tomorrow morning for breakfast. Can't wait to try it after seeing your video!
Hi Ivan: nice to hear from you. Please let me know how you like the Reed you harvested. That's awesome that you had such a great year on your Reed Avocado Trees. You definitely take good care of your avocado trees. Thank you for sharing and thank you for watching! Hope all is well!
@@johnnysworld-backyardorchard I completely forgot to let you know about the Reeds I harvested right after the one you picked. The avocados from both trees definitely needed at least another month, maybe more. Even though they were edible they were watery and one of them wouldn't completely soften. I'll try another one the first week of June and let you know how it tastes.
@@ivanguajardo7111 Thank you Ivan for letting me know. Very interesting. I'm wondering why the one I picked was ripe since I picked it before the harvesting period starting around July I believe. Thank you for sharing, really appreciate it. Hope you have a great weekend!
Thank you my friend, she does have better chef cutting skills than me. Thank you for your kind words and thank you for watching! Hope you have a great rest of the week my friend!
How does it appear your many varieties of avocados are producing, Johnny? Are you excited about any new varieties that you’ll be able to harvest this year? How was the oil content of this Pinkerton after 10 days? Was the Pinkerton hard or totally soft when you cut into it? I’m very anxious to see what you think of your many varieties. Thanks for the video.
Hi Neal: I actually picked the Pinkerton and the Reed from my Dad's house. He had a great year last year in avocado production but I did not. I could have waited a couple more days with the Pinkerton, but the oil content was decent and it was pretty soft. It would have been much softer in a day or two but I really like my Pinkerton soft but not too soft. It really has a nice nutty taste to it. In past years, I had to wait 3 weeks or longer for the Pinkerton to ripen but this year it only took 10 days, very strange. My Reed only took 7 days to ripen. Maybe it is the rain we received this year. I think (and hope) I am going to have a much better year this year with my avocado trees. I am really looking forward to hopefully trying the Kona Sharwill, Carmen Hass and the Sir Prize and hopefully those trees will fruit this year and can do a future taste test video. My next taste test will be the GEM that is still hanging around on my GEM avocado tree. Thank you for your questions and thank you for watching Neal! Hope you are doing well!

I was surprised I recently had a Pinkerton Avocado side by side with the Hass avocado and the Pinkerton was better.
You definitely cannot go wrong with the Pinkerton or the Hass. Really enjoy both. Thank you for your sharing and thank you for watching!
True that! I always knew Pinkerton were good but didn't realize that they were on the same level.@@johnnysworld-backyardorchard
