Nice video...!! Thank you for sharing my friend 👍👍❤️
For as many Jujube's that are produced by a Tree, there are not enough active Recipes to utilize them. I am thinking of creating a Pecan Jujube Pie, utilizing the Jujube like we would a Date Pecan Pie.
Look up WP Surround its a powdered clay mixed in water in a sprayer and here in Florida it 110 degrees and its protecting my avocado leaves
Water abundantly and the plant will not be wasted/damaged.
Thank you for your advice on this, I need to do a better job watering. Thank you for watching!
Thanks for sharing! Great collection and some nice fruits! I dont grow much dragonfruits like i did 15 years ago. It is the yellow Selenicereus megalanthus species (with spines on the fruit) that are usually regarded as the sweetest vs what use to be the Hylocereus species(now all categorize as Selenicereus). They usually take 2-3 times longer to mature. American Beauty was always my favorite of the dragonfruit varieties.
Hi Rich: wow, you have a lot of knowledge and experience growing a lot of fruit trees! Thank you for sharing about the sweetest variety of dragon fruit. I really am not great in growing dragon fruit, but they are fun to grow. Thank you for sharing and thank you for watching!
I had a bad season for dragon fruit, I blame it on myself, I really didn't take care of them like I should have. Thanks for sharing Johnny!
Hi REM, I missed a lot of dragon fruit blooming this year, I need to be better. Hope all is well and thank you for your comment and thank you for watching!
Impressive collection. Cool to see the whole season in 14:56 minutes 😁

I Like Li jujube and i have 42 jujubes trees
Wow, that is really great, you are a really lucky person! Thank you for watching!
Do you have a type B for pollinating? Or is this a lone tree?
My Pinkerton does not really need a type b avocado but I do have some type b growing near my Pinkerton like my Bacon avocado. Thank you for watching!
That tool looks dangerous! Hope you have some safety glasses Johnny.
Lol.. it came with some safety glasses. Definitely is dangerous. Thank you for your comment Doug and thank you for watching! Hope you are doing well!
Where you put them in winter, when you cutting in fall?
I live in California so it does not get too cold so I leave them outside. Thank you for watching!
Hello from Central Florida! I'm trying to grow all those California Avocados down here as an experiment. I've been told they hated South Florida, but, who knows.
Good luck my friend, wishing you much success! Thank you for watching!
Thanks for sharing. I think this is how they grow in nature without human interference.
Lol... thank you for sharing that! Thank you for watching!
Try eating like an apple with your hands, and you do not need to cut. Nice trees.
Thanks for the advice:) Thank you for watching!
I’ve had bad luck with Dave Wilson nursery giving me the wrong varieties.
Definitely had that problem too. Thank you for sharing and thank you for watching!
I don’t clean my pruners. I don’t use potting mix. I don’t worry about size. I don’t worry about rooting hormone. I don’t cut on a 45 degree angle. I don’t put a plastic bag on. And yes they grew well. All nonsense. UA-camrs just following what other UA-camrs say.
Lol.. thanks for sharing and thanks for watching!
Hello, is it ok if i use a clear bottle instead of a plastic?
Yes, that should work too. Thank you for watching!
no fruits all all. too much talking what I want is to see if bear fruirs. in container.

I just did 24 grafts with buddy tape yesterday 8-23-24. Great tape. Expensive, well worth it, Drop me a note if you want to see how it all came out. I am at JohnsFarmKalae
Hi John: I really like the buddy tape too, expensive but easy to use. Hope your grafts take and good luck! Thank you for your comment and thank you for watching!

I got my avocado tree at Home Depot and two years later it’s still the same size. Don’t waste your money. If you’re 20 years old and want to wait till you’re 30 then you’re ok. Just spend the big money at the real nursery so you don’t have to wait 10 years to get an avocado lol
Sorry to hear about your avocado tree. I have some avocado trees from Home Depot that are growing really well. Mostly it depends on how much sun and water my trees get. Thank you for your comment and thank you for watching!
There not black, there reddish

Thanks Johnny! Very beautiful fruits! Looks like a good year. Love those deep green foliage!
Thank you Rich for your kind words and thank you for watching!
Look very beautiful on your Reed avocado Johnny. Thanks for sharing 👍
Thank you Alyssa for your comment and thank you for watching!
Such a great tree! Thanks for sharing. In my opinion one of the best all around avocado trees. I harvested one in May and it wasn’t very good, then a couple in June and they were OK, but it wasn’t till July that they started to reach full potential. Fingers crossed they all stick and there’s no fruit drop!
Hi Ivan: nice to hear from you and hope you are doing well! Thank you for sharing your experience on your Reed! Thank you for your comment and thank you for watching!
You just can't go wrong with a Reed! Thanks for sharing Johnny!
Thank you for your comment and thank you for watching my friend!
I was under the impression that spiders were good for avocado trees as they might take care of pests that actually feed on the tree (mites, aphids, etc.)?
I always tell my family that spiders are our friend:) Thank you for your comment and thank you for watching!
Hi Johnny, similarly I’ve got around 20 varieties, in similar conditions and stages of growth, and I’m impressed with a couple of my Reeds the most. I had similar excitement noticing up to 12 fruits that have a good chance of making it. In contrast, I have some very well draining soil. I give them ample amounts of water. In this substantial heat we’re getting in So. California right now, I will be watering them about 5 times in 2 weeks or 14 days. I have jungle conditions which looks similar to yours. Let’s hope that they all come to fruition. A local nurseryman was gifted some Reeds in June and they were clearly too early. I expect mine to be ready in August of 2025.
Hi Neal: Wow, you have a lot of varieties as well, very cool! Thank you for sharing your experience with your Reeds, hope all of your fruit hangs on! Thank you for your comment and thank you for watching Neal!
Wow Johnny! Lots of fruit on your Reed 🤩🌱 great stuff my friend 🙌🏾
Thank you Joe for your kind words and thank you for watching!
The avocado tree is small but it produces quite a lot of fruit, I always watch videos from Johnny's World - Backyard Orchard & Gardening, try to show his face once in a while, not just his voice, so that it is more familiar, thank you, my friend.
Thank you for your comment and support and thank you for watching!
Great video ,thanks for sharing my friend.
Thank you my friend for your comment and thank you for watching!
When do yoy remove the tape or will the new growth burst through the tape?
Great thing about buddy tape, the grafts burst through so no need to remove the tape. Thank you for your question and than you for watching!
Beautiful Reed🤩How much and how often do you water since planting in cactus mix?
During the summers, I water them about 3 times a week but other times about twice a week. Thank you of your comment and thank you for watching!
Nice reed tree, i have a hass tree with a grafted branch of reed with 5 reed fruit. Im in zone 10a in Ontario Ca. That tree looks really healthy. What are you located in?
Hi Manny: I am in LA County near Pasadena area. That's cool that you have a multigrafted avocado tree. Thank you for your comment and thank you for watching!
Thanks for sharing congrats on your Reed ✌️🥑
Thank you 831Avo for your kind words and thank you for watching!
I'm going to guess it's not a pure Fuerte but a hybrid. The leaves seem more wavy on the edges than my Fuerte.
Thank you for your opinion on this tree. I have no idea what it is and your suggestion is definitely possible. Thank you for your comment and thank you for watching! Btw, I really enjoyed your last video, definitely a labor of love creating it, thank you for sharing!
@@johnnysworld-backyardorchard Thanks, I didn't intend for my channel to be too serious... I figured maybe the videos would be useful for me, to remember what I did in the past. Yet, people are subscribing to it anyway!

I definitely prefer Gwen and Hass over Reed. Hard to beat the thick creamy texture and rich flavor of Gwen.
Definitely cannot go wrong with a Gwen or a Hass. Thank you for your comment and thank you for watching!
Is the sugar cane jujube self fertile? Do I need mother variety for it to make fruit?
I read somewhere that "Sugarcane is a cross-pollinating species although selfing occurs at low levels." So it definitely does much better if you have another jujube close by. You can cross pollinate with another jujube variety. Thank you for your questions and thank you for watching!
Hi Johnny. Were you able to see if it had many cukes/cocktail avocados on the tree? Can you knock on the door to the property and either ask them or, after developing a rapport, ask them if you could actually LOOK / inspect the tree? Possibly buy a few of the fruit after asking them when they are usually good to eat.
Hi Neal: Maybe one of these days I will try finding out which house it is. Its behind the wall and would need to try to drive around to see what street the house is on. But definitely would be interesting to talk to the owner of the house and actually see the tree up close. Thank you for your recommendation, maybe one day I will go by and try to find this house.I couldn't tell if it had any cukes on this tree since it seemed like normal sized avocados. Thank you for your comment and thank you for watching!
Nice video..!! Thank you for sharing my friend👍👍♥️
Thank you my friend for your kind words and thank you for watching!
As old as it is, due to the size, id almost say a Fuerte. Specially if you are near the SGV
Actually someone else told me in the past that they thought this tree was a Fuerte too. I think you are right on this. Thank you for your comment and thank you for watching!
Too bad you can't peek over the wall and see if it is two trees with 2 separate trunks.
Hi Sheri: I wish I could climb over and see:). Thank you for your comment and thank you for watching!
No idea but its super impressive
Hi VFG, hope you are doing well my friend! Thank you for your comment and thank you for watching! Hope you have a great rest of the week!
Actually was in the DC/Virginia area two weeks ago and I thought of you when I was out there. Hope all is well!
@johnnysworld-backyardorchard oh wow. You get around a lot too! I was up in that area this past weekend and also went to PA. Safe travels Johnny!
@@VirginiaFruitGrower I am back home but was in PA as well as New York. I forgot how pretty it was up in upstate PA and New York. Hope you have a great week my friend!
@@johnnysworld-backyardorchard dang Johnny wow
Wow Johnny 🤩 so much fruit on your Pinkerton. What a blessing 😀🌱
Thank you Joe for your kind words and thank you for watching my friend!
It will grow faster and more fruit and grow denser leaves if you let more sun in by trimming close trees.
Thank you for the kind recommendation and advice. I have been meaning to prune by avocado trees. Thank you for watching and thank you for your advice!
