I found your channel a few days ago and it’s changed everything for me. Bc of my adhd, I’m really weird about fruit and vegetables and I wasn’t getting enough because I wasn’t sure how to properly pick them out. I’ve started buying more fruit and veggies thanks to you and I’m super excited about it!
Thank you I just found your channel & I'm learning so much , prices in California are outrageous!!! It's nice to know how to pick out ripe veggies and fruit for the price we pay
Thank you so much. I just start watching this show and I learned so much from you. Love love love it. Now I know how to pick Alvarado, pineapples and melons. Great job. 💗💗💗💗💗💗💗
I don't squeeze its not fair coz ur bruising it just like the other people is doing. If you want to to squeeze just press gently. . But the best way You just look for a not green avocado, peel off the stem and if brown its ripe. If you buy green they ripen within 2 days in a brown bag.
Partly correct. Yes, don't squeeze w/ fingertips as it WILL cause bruising. Use full length of one finger to roll over avocado side to side. This will give you an idea of internal flesh consistency. 2nd DO NOT take stem off. This WILL cause browning to inside flesh under stem area.
@@TC-vl9ij Thanks. That's true. Some of them the stem was already gone. If it's not too brown it's ok especially when u can still see greeniyish inside where stem fell off. I love all the videos with other fruits too. Very helpful and I have shared them with friends and family. 👍🏽❤️
Hi Christian, I just found your channel, this is the 3rd one I've watched. I subscribed after watching the 2nd one. Thanks for the great information. Hopefully after watching your videos I will end up with better fruits and vegetables. I also loved the one on cooking ground beef. Thanks, I look forward to watching more from you. 🙂👍
Oh, the produce managers are going to have a meltdown! Squeeze VERY GENTLY, so as not to damage the fruit. If it gives ever so slightly, VERY, VERY, SLIGHTLY, it is ready to buy, and prob. ready to eat if left on the counter for a day or two - depending on how ripe you like them/ or what you plan to do with them. Buy them if they are black or almost black, look good. If you remove the stem, you need to pay for it!
I just subscribed to your channel. I'm on my way to the market and needed this information about the avocados. I've one question... After I've made my purchase how long will the avocados last before they start to go bad. Also how can I store and keep the other half from turning brown?

I vant find anything that mentions the "freckles" inside. Every single avocado i have ever split open has these "freckles" and they are indeed brown. It looks like the avocado you have in this video has them as well. Is this just a normal thing? Excuse my ignorance lol but I've never experimented much because i have never been able to figure them out lmfao
@@detroiterhere4897 Buy them under ripe a few days ahead of time, or if you like lots of black spots when you cut them open, buy the ones that everybody has squeezed their fingers into like he is telling you.
I all ways get the ones that are just starti g to get ripe if I can . If they are too ripe they don't taste as good to me. My mom told me to get the ones just starting to get ripe or just turned .
Brown spots are just oxidation (oxygen starting to break down the fat). If brown spots smell/taste old, don't eat it. If brown spots smell/taste fine, you can eat them.
Thank you so much for this video! I never knew about the color under the stem. That is extremely helpful. 😀

I agree
I got so many great tips from this channel. Thank you for making these interesting and informative videos. Love them. ❤
Thanks for watching!
Rather than put thumb dents in them, I squeeze the entire thing. It works perfectly and doesn’t damage the rest.
Thank you! This has been a long journey for me. Was petrified of buying avocados
I love those avocados. Yummmy!

Always informative!

You forgot to add the pit removal, where you whack a knife into it then twist to remove. Love your vids on how to choose ripe fruit - thanks!
Thank you!
I like to take produce home and let it ripen on the counter lol but I didn’t know when it was ready to open
So, we should bruise all the avocados to find our nice one
Yes, you got it. Thanks for watching!
So what are the brown spots in the avocado?
Thank you. Great video

You can freeze them for later use. To keep them from turning brown you squeeze or rub lemon juice or vinegar on them.
Good info
Very helpful thx!
Very helpful
Wowww..now I know.. Thank you handsome... ❤❤❤❤
thank you guy 😊
La versión en español lo subiré mañana

Don’t squeeze the avocados!!!!
Okay. Then what is your suggestion to not waste our hard earned money on under ripe or overly ripe avocados?

Thank you very much for your support, Terry! Much appreciated.
Thanks !
It's simple, I buy them green and eat them one day later.
I finally know!!! 🥳❤
How do u know the seed is big or not? I noticed some have very big seeds.
You won't know until you open them. Unless you have an x-ray machine :)
A safe way to remove the seed?
Thanks, you should have shown how you cut it up
Thanks for the suggestion.
Can you eat the brown spots?
You can, but why would you want to? They don't taste good. They taste rancid, usually.
You did NOT mention what does having brown spots mean? I just ate them 'cause cutting away will lose like half of my avocado.
Brown spots are just oxidation (oxygen starting to break down the fat). If brown spots smell/taste old, don't eat it. If brown spots smell/taste fine, you can eat them.

What happens to the avocado after the stem is removed?
Thank you Mr!!!😉 👍 👌 👏👏👏👏
