I have seen some of your videos and am impressed with the character of the individuals and the honest quality presented. I have been researching the Philippines in the hope of retiring there.
I live on Vancouver Island Canada and love the ocean and nature. I find Dumaguete Valencia area is where I hope to start my adventure in the Philippines this year.
Being on a fixed Canadian pension reasonable long term accommodation is my first priority.
The quiet laidback lifestyle is what I hope to find. My days of clubbing and fine dining I hope to replace with hiking and diving enjoying my love of nature. If you would consider sending me some rental links that would be fantastic.

That’s pretty much exactly what I’m looking for. I assume it’s a few degrees cooler there than down the hill in dumaguete. The only thing that could change my mind is if I found a place a couple blocks from the beach. I guess Valencia is cheaper than down the hill. I plan to visit and explore for a few months. Anyway, very nice.

Wow, what a deal! I can't imagine what you can get for say, $900.00 a month? On the beach maybe?
Do you see how the eaves of the house hang way out over the walls and the windows? That keeps the house much cooler.. I would take that house and tweak it a little bit and it would be a Taj mahal.. definitely get a outside deck built with a roof on it to have cookouts and barbecues.. maybe even and above the ground swimming pool with a deck on it.. definitely get a better cooking area inside the house. You can also get insulated curtains to keep the cool air in and the hot air out and one small window unit would do it for cooler temperatures but in Valencia it is usually cool at night anyway,. I could not tell if they have screens on the windows or not but if not I would definitely put screens on the windows and leave them open at night sometimes. Definitely a great deal!! Thanks for the tour of the house and the property because I'm always interested in looking at what people are renting and what they are paying.. thanks 👍👌😎🤗🙏👍.. PS.. That would be a great house to own. I would do the things you suggest also. Unfortunalty on a rental its not worth it.

Which Valencia? There are 3 in Phillipines.
I forgot to ask how often do you have power outages and about how long do they last? Love that place and I love the rural setting but I would also get a generator just in case. It would not take much generator to power the whole house but really all you need is the pump and the refrigerator and a fan.. I do not watch a lot of TV but I do need a big screen TV connected to the internet and I would put a pole with a signal booster on it to connect my internet.. I spend lots of time outside when it is good weather but when it is bad weather I like to watch my big screen TV. I was born and raised in rural south Louisiana and I always love living in rural areas.. roosters and dogs do not bother me because I was raised on a farm and would go to sleep at night listening to dogs bark because my father raised hunting dogs to make extra money.. also if you get some insulated curtains it would take the echo out of the house when you talk.. thank you very much and I enjoyed the video and I enjoyed listening to both of you talk because I am from rural south Louisiana and of course we have a different accent.. hehe. We have power outages every few days, not usually for long. Occasionally several hours. It depends where you live. We. are up the mountain.
$300 usd is to much for this place. I found a 3bd 2 bath 2 story fully furnished place with 4 air con and a pool for 14,000 pesos. I should say my Filipina found it 😅
So I avoided the “skin” tax 😂

I'm a dog lover so I'm happy both of you are now saved. Just wondering what elevation you are at? I'm hoping to come to that area and live without AC [ at least at night] and as your place has no AC I guess you can by without it.
I don't live in Valencia I live in Sipalay about 2-3 hours away. I used to use Aircon but after super typhoon Odette last year's and living for months and months with no Aircon I have now adapted to no Aircon and no fan I don't live in the proper I live up in the mountains a bit but the warmest it has ever been at night was about 80F. Take a cold shower before bed its comfortable.
THAT IS EXPENSIVE FOR 17K A MONTH, THAT COULD COST ONLY 130 USD HERE IN THE NORTH, BUT YOUR PLACE IS QUIET SO ITS A PLUS
Okay, I'm from South Texas and you would absolutely DIE without an a/c! So what is the temp there that you can get away without having an HVAC system?

A tour of it would have been nice and it likely is even cheaper ? -- I would want a furnished studio for less $ if possible ? -- Nice find !

You can get fast internet plans. I don't know how reliable his is yet but I can tell you I have problems about every other month.

He came across this one by chance after renting a couple of bad places. Just got to be lucky to find something quick that is good.

How can someone rent a brand new house for just $300 a month?? It does not make sense. I brand new house in the US like this would be $1,100 in a average State, excluding California/New York....in California it would be $3,000 min.

Listen you dudes that move down there have no idea how things work in the U.S. you have to understand how the system works. When you turn 65 and get on Social Security you want your payments to be pretty low. Like say $1200 a month. Then you qaulify for HUD assisted rent. My rent is $207 per month. I live in a 700 sp foot apartment. It is nicer than most apartments in the Phillipines and it has central air and heat. Course I bought a nice 50 inch Samsung for $300, try doing that in the Phillipines. My assistance programs mean I pay almost nothing for utilities, during the winter I pay zero for electricity and gas and in the summer my total utility cost is about $50.I am dual qaulified for Medicare and Medicaid so I have United Healthcare Dual complete. Pretty darn good medical insurance and U.S. facilities. I get $100 food stamps and $220 on my health allowance card for groceries. I own a 2008 Mitsubishi Galant free and clear and a Harley Davidson Sportster free and clear. My gf lives next door now and I have my privacy or I can go next door and do crazy. You folks that think you are better off down there have no idea how the system works in your own country. Not that smart if you ask me.
