My name is Kevin. I hope you will enjoy my videos of my great new life of early retirement in Dumaguete in the Philippines. Come along on my island hopping trips to beaches, snorkeling, mountains, waterfalls and other Philippine destinations. I’ll introduce you to friends, so you can learn about dating, finding a place to live, restaurants, and best places to buy groceries.

The rooster is fine. It’s that damn dog that’s annoying.
Yeah, that was my fault. I walked past the owner’s porch. I didn’t know the dog was there, otherwise I would’ve walked another way
I love that the girl comes with apt! The Philippines are super progressive😊
That is a nice area if you have transportation to go up And down the hill.
Definitely!
That little apartment would be perfect. 👍
I love Valencia, and you can’t beat that price 😉
Old dog Paul once lived there
Looks like you enjoy your food 🥘 😊
It was great!! I can’t wait to go back and try the steak 🤤
Fantastic video! That apartment and grounds looks really great and how fun to land on a phenomenal place to eat! It's always best to explore, at least for me! Thank you! Peace
Thanks for watching Michael! We appreciate it 😉
Will definitely give that apartment a try because it is month to month.. I know from watching UA-cam videos they have a lot of power outages and also just water outages.. the restaurant is going in my notebook and I will certainly get what you got and also a ribeye and bring the leftovers home.. I have to have a good American type ribeye at least once a month and that looks like the place to do it.. I am excitedly waiting for your steak review of that restaurant.. hurry up and go back..hehe.. thanks to you and Jenna Lynn for such good videos 👍👍😎🤗🍺🍻
Yeah, I can’t wait to try that steak too. If you put Adamo Dumaguete in Google maps you can see pics of other meals, especially the presentation of that ribeye 😉
@@TooMuchTimeonmyHands65 thanks 👍
awesome wow
Thank you darling 😉
Definitely need a vehicle up there, trying to grab a trike or other transport looked like it would be a real issue. We visited there about 2 weeks ago.
Thanks for the confirmation Bob👍🏻
Saw that complex before. Nice to know it's still affordable. Great vid Kev
Thanks for watching Tom! We appreciate it 😉
Very impressive
Thanks!
Great video guys very interesting take care nice people. Coming back in August for are holidays in the dumaguete like to meet up with with you both cheers. 👏💕👍🇦🇺🇵🇭
Thanks for watching Tony! We appreciate it😉
Nice place and it’s affordable too.I would love to try the pancit you ordered. Say hi to Jennalyn for me
Thanks for watching MM! It was great, and I can’t wait to try that steak
Awesome apartment very nice 👍
Thanks Ty, it’s definitely a good deal
Great review Kevin. Great value! I love the Valencia area! Look forward to catching up with you both again next time I’m in town.😀
Thanks Derek! Definitely let me or Sebastian know when you come back😉
As you will find out or know people move around as we become comfortable with different areas and want to explore and save ourselves money . Just depends on what your budget and lifestyle is Kevin .
You are correct
79 - 81 (?) I would have sweat dripping off my nose ! - - - Sounds like what is 'needed' is a '''dehumidifier''' - just to remove the humidity ? Much cheaper to operate than AC. = Comfortably 'dry' w/o being cold ! Also keeps from getting mold. -- Nobody over there ever mentions them but they are very worthwhile in humid climates. --?-- 🤔-- Otherwise - just a bit too remote and isolated for my liking - all else there is wonderful. ---- I'm trying Tagaytay. Cooler also beautiful but much more to do with international food available ! Valencia is really isolated requiring trips to Dumaguete for almost everything ! > Tagaytay has so much more and is cooler.
Thanks for watching Frank! Yes, he could use a dehumidifier. We have not been to southern Luzon yet. We will check out Tagaytay and Batangas one of these days
@@TooMuchTimeonmyHands65 Lipa City is very scenic @ 1000 ft and cooler than sea level + it's very cheap there too. -- Check it out - that "area" (Tagaytay also) has the easy day trip advantage to Manila - for fun food excellent Medical care & the airport ! Gated community housing in Lipa area can be cheap too ! (c/o: Crum's in the Philippines)
I thought it was a nice place but I think the road in is something to consider. When I checked it out it was rainy season and that dirt road in was muddy (this was right after COVID opened back up not sure if it's changed). IMO MJM is very similar place but the road in may be safer for a old guy on a scooter. I did really like the place but there were no vacancies at the time.
Yeah, the road is still the same and I bet it’s not a lot of fun when wet
Nice video and info. John lives there in Valencia with his family.
👍🏻 thanks for watching Jesse
Very nice, pool and all for that price! Jen never needs the bathroom no matter how long in the pool! Kek
Hahahaha
One of those Teenage Road Trip Movies had a bunch of Seniors in a Pool that supposedly had some chemical that turned pee blue and in the scene all the seniors had a telltale sign of blue coming out. LOL Tried to find it, but I got different scenes not the one I'd seen.@@TooMuchTimeonmyHands65
THAT - - - is a real bargain ! --- Studio is enough for 1 especially. I'm single and alone - don't really need quite that much space ! A cleaner once every week or two would be nice ? Perhaps get them to cook for a couple days worth of meals to heat up ? --- Are there coffee shops or places to eat close to or around Valencia ? 🤔
you living it up
Hahaha, yes. I am living the dream!
That is amazing for the price. A great short term rental. Thanks for showing this. I will definitely look into it if I’m in the area. Also thanks for your financial videos. I am halfway to maxing out the Roth IRA this year. i’m 53 and I’m playing catch-up. I had a great stay in the Philippines last month. Thanks for your content. The restaurant reviews are awesome! But I had a hard time finding pizza in the Philippines with actual mozzarella cheese on it. Any suggestions?
Thanks for watching, and I am glad you found the investment video y. I am working on part two. Dairy products in general are hard to find or are very expensive here. Can’t find pasteurized milk, American cheese, butter is pricey. Two places around here use mozzarella: Frontemare in Dauin and Giordano Romantico in Valencia
I like the Big Rock apartments with the month-to-month lease. That place would work well for me and it seems like it would be cool temperatures as well.
I, for sure, want to try that restaurant & meal you had (BBQ Pork Belly). It looked amazing and not what I'd expect for pork belly--I figured pork belly meat would be very chewy (like chewing rubber bands).
You are correct! Normally I don’t eat pork belly just because of that, but this was delectable. I am looking forward to trying other things on the menu 😉
We will have to check it out.
The apartment?
No, the restaurant. We are going to purchase/have a home build at Terra Alta. In Valencia. Should be able to be in it as our lease runs out here. Early 2025.
That pancit looked really great; I'l be taking mine with the veggies. The apartment is a perfect starter to scout for something permanent from; just walk right in and live. Did Jennalyn shorten her hair? It looks shorter in the back than I remember.
That pork belly melted in my mouth! I can’t wait to try other things on the menu. I believe the chef was trained in the west. Hahahaha, she hasn’t cut her hair. She wears it up most of the time and “unleashes” it for the videos. Sometimes it goes more sideways than long
Nice. I gotta get a motor bike license before i come back.
Yeah, you could live in that place with a bike😉
Am not sure but I think old dog use live and every man has a story am not sure you can correct me if I am wrong and food looks nice
You are correct! Paul and Mark lived next door to each other
That be a great idea for buying land and building like that for income
Definitely 😉
Another great review, Kevin! I was wondering how you met Jennalyn? She is beautiful!
I won her in a poker game 😉. I’m kidding…we met online on Filipinocupid.com she actually came after me, and I kept telling her she was too young. She persevered and eventually won
@TooMuchTimeonmyHands65 I need to try my hand at poker. 😆 Regarding the age difference, whatever works, enjoy and always be sincere with each other! I have previously tried Filipino Cupid twice, and boy, did I pick a couple of "bad apples"! 😆
Big Rock apartments are good.
I’d live there if I was single. I love Valencia 😉
Ahhhh the good old days when Ging would host a bikini party in that pool 😊
🤔 I miss Ging
@@TooMuchTimeonmyHands65 me too
OMG , you mean i can stay in Mark Thorntons old apartment 😂
Maybe, Paul in the Philippines lived next door, so yes…you could live in a D list celebrity’s old place if you’re lucky 😉😃
Family oriented. But no kids allowed. 😅
Too expensive
Unless 1 bedr apt is 600 ft2
Ok, furnished and all plates and utensiles. Then the price is not too bad
👍🏻 thanks for watching 😉
😎👍🇺🇲
Yep, seen that place before.
How far was the top rated restaurant from the apartment?
How are the roads in the area?
It certainly wouldn't be the Philippines without a distant rooster or two.
Yeah the dog is a bit much but I'm sure it's fine around the residents.
Cheers from Fluffy in the PNW Seattle WA USA area.
Thanks Fluffy! The restaurant is 5.7 miles and 21 minutes away according to Google maps. The dirt/rock road between the main mountain road and the entrance isn’t, the best but I have been on worse. All of the main roads in Valencia are great. The dog was my fault. I walked past the owner’s porch and didn’t know he was there until too late.
@@TooMuchTimeonmyHands65
I'm a motorcycle enthusiast so bad raids are really a problem. Finding a good bike probably would be.
I hear a lot of these roads are clay.
Wet clay is a nightmare for anyone.
I figured the dog was telling everyone there's a stranger here.
The Filipina Pea gave me that nickname years ago.
Sorta stuck.
Cheers mate.
Thats a twin bed.
No, a twin is too small for 2 pillows. It may be a full size. I can never tell the difference between a full and queen
Out of curiosity, do you know what a scooter rental for a month would go for ? Thx Kev
I rent mine for 7500 pesos a month. They change the oil and lube everything each time I pay
When you say it's cooler up the mountain, exactly what is the air temp andcis the pool heated?
During the day, it may be 85F when Dumaguete is 89. The big difference comes at night. It can drop to the high 60sF. The pool isn’t heated, but my friend says it’s pretty warm in the afternoon from the sun beating down on it all day
Hey Kevin, My name is Carl Smith. I need to ask a question concerning stocks, and investments. How do I get in touch with you with you on some advice. Thanks Kevin
Hey Carl, thanks for watching. I’m not qualified to recommend stocks or evaluate a portfolio. Is there something you would like to know besides that?
Are black filipinas rare? I love black women/afro latinas/etc so I'm wondering, I heard most are in manila
They are very rare here. I have only seen one other adult, and two young school girls in the Dumaguete area. Jennalyn’s dad is from Ghana. Manila and Angeles City would make sense. There are US military bases there
Awesome video folks, thanks. Good to know.
Glad you liked it Tin man!
Your girl is so pretty.
I agree 100%😉
