You and Greg from How to Drink have taught me so much about cocktails and mixology. Plus, you are both so passionate about cocktails and the history behind them. I love and appreciate these videos!
The editing in this video is the best I’ve seen for this channel! Come along lightyears from video like the original negroni video 😂. Love this style of video
For the appletini, I like to cut the simple in half and replace that with a bit of midori, the melon taste isnt detectable but it defini sweetens the drink up as well as makes it look more fluorescent
Nice and very professional drinks and video guys. I like to mix things up with any vodka drink by using lime/orange/vanilla vodkas. Used to be quite dismissive of simple vodka drinks, but you show they can be great.
Another amazing video and 10 recipes to use next party I have. Keep up the amazing work Leandro, I really can't thank you enough for getting me into both bartending and cocktails through your amazing channel.
This was really great. I needed some inspiration on making cocktails with vodka, since my group has ' esma's' as a staple so there is always vodka waiting to be used.
Perfect for me. I'm doing an exploration of cocktails with a monthly spirit focus. I chose vodka for April and I really have no idea what to do with vodka
Ahhhh, nice to see the kangaroo again. 😋 I’d also be remiss as a tiki bar manager if I didn’t point out that an original Chi- Chi also has a skosh (0.5 oz) of Trader Vics macadamia liquor, too...if anyone felt so inclined to zhuzh up your recipe, here.
@@ruthhallows Yeahhh, honestly, aside from the buzz you'll get, vodka just makes it taste like a straight-forward virgin piña colada. But just that touch of macademia really makes it it's own drink.
Hey Mr @theeducatedbarfly is coconut syrup the same as Coco Lopez, or is it like a Lopez / simple syrup hybrid? Also I am *absolutely* making a Charging Station this weekend.
Thank you for your high quality content! It's really nice to see so many original cocktails. But i didn't get what is coconut syrup. Is it coconut cream with simple syrup 1:1?
Could you do a tasting video on bitters on BFFP? Laugh first... I don't know what the difference is. how do I know when to use bitters and if so what ones to use where.
I've had this issue, when making espresso martinis. I feel like the hot espresso melts too much of the ice, and it's gets too diluted. Do you chill your espresso any before adding it inn?
Fun video giving some maligned cocktails a good showing. But I did miss the tasting notes! Also I wondered why you didn't mention who created the Chi Chi , but I guess it's not necessarily known (from a brief look just now), so that's fair. 😄
@@TheEducatedBarfly Ahh, that's totally fair. Yeah, I figured if it had tasting notes it'd need to be 2 videos. But hey, you should mention the member benefits in cases like this!
10 cocktails in 10 minutes? ... in a single shot? like Rope by Hitchcock ... naaaaah! ... the magic of edition. Great video Leandro, a quick reference guide for vodka, my #2 favourite distilled spirit.
I'v noticed in all your videos that you add the ice to the tin separately, after you have poured the contents to make the drink in the other half of shaker, then shake. Where as others always put ice first and pour contents over the ice, then shake. Does that make a difference in any way, taste or otherwise? or is that just your personal preference?
Yes it makes a huge difference no matter what tin you put your ice in always add it LAST. If you add it first like so many people do, you have ice rapidly melting in your tin as you make the drink. This adds A LOT more dilution to the final product. One of three small changes you can make to be sure you’re making the best cocktails possible is to add that ice last.
My dad sent me this video and I enjoyed it. Was curious to observe your practice of sweetening cranberry juice. I already think of cranberry juice as containing more sugar than people realize, so was not expecting this. Were you getting a lot of feedback that your cosmos did not taste sweet enough without the added sugar?
Yeah I got all natural cranberry juice with no added sugar at all and sweetened that. Cranberry cocktail made by ocean spray which most people use as “cranberry juice” not only has added sugar but also has other fruit juices added, such as apple and pomegranate.
I’m a 13 year old and I make some of these cocktails for my parents and they really enjoy them my first vodka cocktail was the Appletini but my first cocktail was a gin and tonic
Firstly, this is a 10/10 video because it's well edited, it's informative and demonstrative. Secondly, I don't understand why so much ice goes into lots of cocktails: you go overboard (for me) in all of those cocktails in regards to ice lol. Yeah you want dilution and you can get that without filling the glass with ice cubes xd. It's up to the customer however I believe and his order.
Leandro, you oopsied - it's Henry Africa's and not Harry Africa where the lemon drop was created (funny thing is, I know you know better because your earlier video on the lemon drop you got it right). I tried the Cosmopolitan but with 2oz of citron vodka. Dry, tart and surprisingly sophisticated. Only Cosmo I’ve ever enjoyed.
