I had to dig in after the news on what happened for years and found out that the key members of rare are leaving and why rare are trying to sell their company to Nintendo but declined it then Microsoft step in and thought they'll get donkey kong if they buy rare resulting in the current state rare. What if Nintendo knows about the key members not there anyone since they recognize talents even now.
I like at 2:18 where the composer inserted a varied arrangement of the theme. That was a great touch. I was playing a this rom the other day, I was bobbing my head to it while pumping guys full of lead.
both games are good. but i feel more nostalgic with a n64 controller in my hand. and this and ocarina of time have the best music. and halo 3. i loved that music too

I beat both the original and the Xbox one multiple times and still can go back and do it again without complain. It also had this dark undertone which not only fuels my nostalgia but left me wanting dynamic and or similar environments in future FPS games. Plus Joanna Dark is a badass character.

Rare used to be the greatest. Everything went wrong after the microsoft deal, many employees left and since then they never released something on par of their N64 days :(
Tony Andre Karlsen I also agree with this! The soundtrack is AMAZING and helps to greatly bring the game to life; without it, it wouldn't be the same. Hands down one of my favorite N64 games and I am even guilty of listening to the entire soundtrack when I am bored or to help keep me busy. James Bond and its soundtrack is also of course a fantastic classic. 😆👌✌
I coincidently got this theme stuck as the ONLY ONE for my multiplayer. Heheh oopsie! It's pretty cool, but I wish I could listen to the others, but I need to find an expansion pak to do that. :P

yea i'd like to! but pj64k doesn't work very well for these games. You should try using mupen64++ with jabo's d3d plugin. that's the best way to play perfect dark or goleneye or armorines online.
I agree, Rare is still what they used to be, it's just the fact that they haven't been able to do much beyond rehash the old or do alright with the new. They need some fresh people and fresh ideas, and they need to look back at the late 90's and realize what they are. When Microsoft drops Rare because they can't do anything right anymore, everyone will just blame Microsoft again. It's 80% of the time the developers fault in these situations.
