No Internet, computer, iphone / ipad, only my farsight XR-20 & Double Mauler in hands. Can't believe I was playing this FPS already14 years ago, back in my teenage days
Everytime id play this level, it will give me goosebumps and shiver's when id hear the skedar appear from outer no-where, and the music had always added a sense of suspense and chill to me.
This song was always my favourite... and so were the Skedars. I just loved their backstory and the planet they lived on. This game was so amazing. They don't make masterpieces like this anymore :
Was anyone so young when they played this that they didn't know to use the scanner to find the correct pillars? We made up these ridiculous little theories like "the shiny ones are the correct ones" and had the hardest time getting past this part.
Yeah man, I remember playing this level for this first time, and I was actually high at that moment. Whenever I got freaked I'd step back for a few seconds to listen to this kick-ass music. I think this particular tune inspired the song 'Every Day is Exactly the Same' from Trent Reznor. Look it up.
Music producer who did this game also did golden eye, this and the main Title is my favourite score. Game was amazing. For N64 also the expandtion pack you needed because of the graphics
I miss this game... I literally only played in the complex... it was my favorite map and I have absolutely no idea why. There were two particular little rooms and you could just stay in the same spot forever with a laptop gun on the door and then use the slayer to kill little baby aliens. SIGH the good old days.
yep we used to do the same thing we called it zombies put all the Sims on crazy an we had to hold them off! frame rate used to drop with 4player spilt screen
Back when I played this level so many years ago, I never knew that you had to blow up a wall to get into the inner sanctum. I was wandering around for almost an hour until I accidentally blew up the wall. By that time I was almost out of ammo and was steamed!😂
this was hands down the best shooting game ever! if you say otherwise, you didntt play the game. best soundtrack jus makes you wanna go merk on some sims coward sim hostile sim easy sim meat sim. can you tell iv played thisgame alot.
i used to play this game with my right hand in the middle and my left hand overtop the right side of the controller to be able to strafe while moving without jeopardizing the tilt. my friends thought it looked retarded, but i murked them
I think that works really well in a game. Those recurring themes. Undertale did that perfectly as well. And I think more or less every Rare game from the 64.
@@lucario5717 yeah I dunno. The fact that they don't like the game wasn't all that relevant to my point either 🤣 anyway, that's coincidental. Listening to this track (working on a remix of it ^^) and I see this comment was posted under a minute ago 😆
@@lucario5717 I do not appreciate it being compared with this game. They're nothing alike. I know that was extreme and quickly-escalating, but I just cannot stand that game and its fandom. Any reference of it garners a scowl outta me.
chills me this track!!!! brilliant end level. havent played this game though for years. the build up in this track is awesome when the drums start beating at 0:46 and then builds up. Top GAME!!!!
This track reminds me of the days when my girlfriend had this game and she let me play it some. She beat this whole level in a little less than 3 minutes. It still takes me 5-10 minutes to get through it.
The skedar always freaked me out, never wanted to look behind me incase one of them appeared out of their cloaking devices.. great game, great memories.. (:
haha i know where all the skedars are in this level but the other day i was going to the pillar behind the first shield area and i was waiting for the two skedars to come up but they didn´t, so i placed the tracker device thingy and both of them came out of nowhere (obviously) and it really scared the crap out of me so much that i ran away from the pilar before they could hit me hahaha really amazing!
Dunno if you still play it, but acquiring the dual Phoenix Pistols made that fight a hell of a lot easier. Target the primary obelisks for Elvis to destroy, and use the Devastator on the remaining two and the pistols will appear near the canyon that leads to the inner chamber.
One of the dope ones on PD. Awesome game, I play on Mupen64++ with kaillera netplay support, If anyone else enjoys playing this game and has a decent computer, we should play. No one else really plays.
In my view, the final cut scene ought to have had Joanne and the Maian Elvis returning to Earth welcomed back by Mr. Carrington, the CI troops and staff, and the rest of the Maian aliens.
whenever i hear this song (not fast version) i just hear the roars of the skedar in my head, makesm e panic whenever im playing hte dang level whenever i hear this song (fast version) i just hear the skedar rocket launcher shooting some place.
@Abazigal You have a point, it is no army. but you would need more than couple dozen random soldies, since not everyone is as badass or fearless as joanna and lets not forget, not everyone has a Callisto NTG. though, yeah, i would say there more like "Emperor's secret guard" rather than an army myself, as 8 skedar are something that would stop anyone that is not joanna or has a callisto NTG or both. XD
this game is the best FPS ever made.... i remember when i was like 13, 14 years old playing this with my older brother and our friends.... never had this much fun.... @Abazigal I always used to run around the room opening their tanks and killing them in their sleep while one soldier just chased me around the room. =D
I remember the 999+ tries it took to beat the final boss.... I would get through the level no problemo, but at the final boss I'd just get pounded.... but beating him to this day is mah best achievement! :D
Tell me about it. They take off half your health even on Agent difficulty. It doesn't help that they spawn during the final boss battle, becoming a distraction.
These beats had no business being this hard 🔥
Perfect dark music stayed in my head ever since i put my hands on it I'm always beat boxing these beats so i always come back here
@@flithycasual I first played it in 2000 what an awesome game.
We was kids playing this too
Oh yes the Fck they did !!!
If i see a giant alien space craft just slowly descend to earth from the sky, im just going to light up a joint and play this track
Decker Munroe yep the best track to play
They are already here, Joanna.
Just waiting on the aliens 💨 💨
That sounds like a horrible, nerve-racking experience tbh

One of the bests OST ever made!
I swear, even to this day, that Perfect Dark was one of the best shooters of all time and if you havent played it, you should.
Why don't so many people appreciate this epic game, it's so good and the tunes were just as good!
this music shows u how badass perfect dark was. From the datadyne defection to the skedar ruins:)

Good variety in the map locations for sure

Ahhhh. Home of the farsight. The anti camping weapon.
I just cannot imagine a better fitting music to go with the level. Damn I get chills now picturing the wasteland & the three suns up in the sky.
The beginning has so much Goldeneye Vibes
I'm here after the Vegas alien sightings

"A Skedar army in suspended animation!"
Yeah, it's like...8 Skedar. That was some army, Joanna.
Yeah if anything the little midget skedar in the previous levels was more an army than anything.

If they do, I want Scarlett Johansson to play Joanna.
It would be hard to make a movie based off Perfect Dark.
Good question

That time Rare was able to build a game on top of the shoulders of the Goldeneye Giant they also built. I like to think of PD as Goldeneye 2.0

You don't develop many relationships as close as the one you do with your falcon in this level. Ever.

In Agent, just run past that room and..."Okay, this is it! Cut off the head and the body will perish!"
@Abazigal That was probably the Priest's secret guard. I think the real Skedar army would have been more massive.
My favorite weapons are Mauler and CMPISO 👍🏻👍🏻
I loved this game
I hated throwing the beacon things the on pillars for longest time i just couldn't attach the right and would fail the mission
