@@yamatorakage Hmm..krg tau yaa soalnya mrka yg gw tau B. Indo, Inggris sma Jepang. Smntara polyglot itu umumnya mrka2 yg bisa lebih dri 3.

Well.. Genesia is famous actually..
Glad she is here..
Indonesian are born bilingual at least, then learn English in school and other Foreign language as German, Japanese or French in high school. I learned German in high school. I speak Indonesian, Javanese, English, Romanian, currently learning Italian. I am working in German company. Yeah, most Indonesian are multilingual
I think part of the reason why is because we Indonesians are very easy to pronounce words from other languages. Most of our parents speak Indonesian and their regional language, but for us the newer generation I'd say we can pronounce English, Spanish, Italian, French, Dutch, and German easier than our Thai or Vietnamese friends, let alone the East Asians. Our tongue is just so flexible to be adapted to other languages.
Indonesian Language Starters : Bahasa Indonesia, English, and Local Indonesian Language. Additional Language : Chinese if she/her is Chinese-Indonesian + other languages that they like (Japanese, Korean, European Languages, etc...)
@@joinmeng
Nah, the simple reason is because we got taught in billingual since we were little. Talking with our mother tongue at home, and bahasa indonesia at school.
This is actually one of our unique traits, and it makes me sad thats indonesian tend to feels inferior about their mother tongue that they're only mentioned bahasa indonesia as the language they're fluent with (and english).
@@SetuwoKecik I wasn't taught at home but I picked up English and Mandarin because of my parents, and I learned German in high school and French in university pretty easily. I'm not talented, but my friends and I quickly realized how easy it was for us to study new language, or rather, new words and pronunciations. Right now I'm learning Korean and it is definitely a lot harder than Mandarin, but still, compared to our American and European friends, it is definitely easier for us Indonesians to pronounce it.
@@joinmeng
Perhaps its also good if you wants to learn one of our regional languages as well, like Javanese for example.
Trivia:Some Filipinos are starting to speaking Bahasa Indonesia including me 😊😊
But there are some Filipinos are learning or speaking fluent Bahasa Indonesia in different ways:Communicate with Indonesian Friends 😊😊 Among of them was:
1.Former Miss Universe Philippines Lucena City Anjeanette Japor(because of her Indonesian Mother)
2.Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray(because of her roommate friend Puteri Indonesia 2018 Sonia Citra)
For me personally only three languages spoken, English, Filipino and the new one, Bahasa Indonesia because next year sometime, I will visit Indonesia to meet my new friends and my new love including my favorite beauty queen, Miss Mega Bintang Indonesia Banten 2024 Theresia Morales, who is my favorite sweetheart, lol 😊😊
With all my heart, I hope to see you in Indonesia next year and I will be waiting for you 😊😊

Kudos to you for learning our language but you have to look inside and try to learn one of the filipinos' regional languages as well.
Your country is also linguistically diverse as ours, so its good to learn about them first. Us indonesians got taught "preserve the regional languages, prioritize the national language, and master the foreign language." ☺
Being bilingual is a norm for Indonesians, and the more access to the internet nowadays makes us more fluent in english as well, becomes trillingual as the result.
Yo gak kabeh lur, 50% bekne
Yeah because each Indonesian has first their own regional language, plus Bahasa Indonesia, and English. And definitely familiar w/ phrases from either anime or k-drama or both 😂
It is very common for some to even master more than one regional language apart from Bahasa and English
@@nschwartz_
Which "bahasa" are you referring to? Because english is also "bahasa".
@@SetuwoKecik English is language dude if ya catch my drift
I knew Genesia was in Korea but I didn't expect her to appear here. It's a nice surprise. It was hilarious to see her pretending unable to speak German.
Aku tau kakak ini,dia cukup terkenal:')
Banyak banget polyglot di Indonesia, konten ometv menunjukkan orang orang tersebut
"It's definitely not German, because German is such an angry language" Threw me off...🤣🤣
To be honest as an Indonesian who lives in a non-tourist city, as a kid I grew up knowing the German language for the first time from the World War Movies, so yeah I thought German people do speak like Hitler before. 🤣🤣
Shout out to Genesia!!! I personally love your videos about languages. Also thanks to World Friends for inviting her to this episode, I hope we can see more of her in this channel.
I am Indonesian that speak Bahasa Indonesia (for sure), English, Brazilian Portuguese and Latin America Spanish. In addition I also speak my local language also as Javanese. I think it's because of our way of speaking with our tongue, it's a little bit easier for us Indonesian to learn different languages.
*Mucho gusto amigo, soy de Indonesia tambien,, realmente hablo Indonesia, ingles, espanol, y arabe* 👀✍️
nice, also almost same here, i'm fluent on english, türkçe, azeri and tatar. can read руский, ελληνικά a little bit. actually more than a decade ago i was learned español (españa), italiano, a little of françaís because of Lara Fabian, Il Divo, Caroline Costa, Pavarotti and Il Volo but yeah, forgotten. might be coz infrequently used.
im indonesian too. thats it.
Iyo, lho. Wong Jowo iku lumayan fleksibel ilate asline.
The problem is that people need to educate more to learn other languages
yesss, in my opinion, Indonesian had neutral accent and we don't really have tonal language so it's easier for us to study other accent and the whole language ❤
It amuses me that the German is surprised that Genesia Synclaire speaks German, since I knew that she has been living in Germany for a few years. But Genesia did pretend that she didn't understand her. We didn't see Genesia's initial reaction to hearing her introduce herself.
aaaa Genesia, you're aweeeesssooommmeeee. Apalagi you used "Bahasa Indonesia" and "Indonesian" instead of "Bahasa", you DO know languages.
She's indonesian
@@sckaze777 yup but there are still plenty amount of Indonesians saying Bahasa Indonesia as "Bahasa" and some of them are quite stubborn even after people corrected it, so the point still stands

We (Indonesian) are born as a bilingual at least. We speak our national language, Indonesia, and also our tribe/ethnicity/race/area has their own language or traditional language because Indonesia has many numbers of those things. For me, it's Sundanese because Sunda is my race/ethnicity. We use Indonesia language to communicate with other people in different race/ethnicity/area (for example, I, Sundanese, use Indonesia to speak to Javanese, Malay people in the country). Then we learn English in elementary school and highschool. Almost all schools in Indonesia have English as their subject. Even sometimes, high school has two subjects of languages, English and the other (like, Chinese or Japanese) as English still a must.
I think you could've just said *local / ethnic languages

by default the majority of Indonesians are already born bilingual, we speak our regional language then are later exposed to the Indonesian language so i think we have the more advantage of learning more languages.
indonesian are just naturally born polyglot. our parents speaks bahasa indonesia and their native languages (mine are javanese and banjarese), our school and online communities teach english, most of us are muslims so we speaks arabic in our mosque school, most of us learns german/chinese/japanese/spanish in high school (mine was chinese) even though i’m not fluent at that after high school, and naturally bahasa indonesia doesn’t have any strong accent to hold back from fluently speaks any foreign language. so yeah, if we do the counting i do speaks 6 languages, bahasa indonesia, javanese, banjarese, english, arabic, and chinese.
Ya, Ulun jua Nggeh 😂
Nah ada orang banjar di sini jua 🤭
Salam sesama warga banjar😂I also speak almost 10 language but I only good at 4 of them,i love learning languages but not a real learner cuz I only get it from hearing the language😅
Kalau skrg sih udah engga soalnya bahasa daerah mulai ditinggalin
Oh I know her, Genesia. Finally the correct one that she said "Bahasa Indonesia" instead of just bahasa.
Good Job Genesia
The correct one is Indonesian.
If they didn't see Genesia in a UA-cam shorts, they won't know that she's a polyglot.
Her Indonesian accent is so cute! Like the way she pronouncing certain words in English is so indo 😂 love it tho, keren kak genesia ❤
From what I heard, Indonesians are actually one of the most favored foreign labor force in East Asian countries because of how adaptible they are to new languages compared to most other countries
And yet despite this, and being the 4th most population in the world, the Indonesian diaspora in other countries is also one of the smallest in the world. Most Indonesians would choose to go back to Indonesia instead of staying permanently in the countries they worked/studied in. I always find it interesting how one of the most equipped people in the world to do well outside of their country, is also the people with one of the strongest nesting culture ever. Indonesia could easily become as world famous as Thailand or the Phillippines if only they're more willing to stay in the country they work/study in for the international media to see more of their culture on a daily life basis, and make Indonesia more known
Well historically, there weren't many slave/labour forces from Indonesia 'exported' to other countries during the Dutch colony other than The Netherlands itself and Suriname.
Also in general, most Indonesians grew with a very very high family/community value oriented. It makes them feel the need to keep coming back despite their successfulness abroad or the then ugly-state of its country/government. They are very rooted and bonded to their family/friends.
I for one, currently live abroad and always dreaming to live outside the country, but will be back to Indo in 2 years time. Never tought that the distance will only make you love and miss, not everything, but most of it.
As an Indo, i speak Bahasa Indonesia as native, my local language Sundanese, English my second, learnt Deutschland/German at school and took 4-years course with it, and speak daily Japanese.
The reason why most people go back than stay in the countries they worked/studied in is paperwork. It's it's hard to get working visa or PR because our country is just that weak w/ foreign relations that it's a lot easier to just go back than fight to lengthen the stay.
You're promoting brain drain.. Haha.. Probably one of the biggest factor the Philippines is in middle-income trap for decades.
So true, most of us who are living abroad will going back home at some point, including me. We just cannot be far away from our big family. There is a saying: either you have food or not, togetherness is more important.
The Loyalty to the motherland is strong here
Basically, Indonesians can speak many languages. Since childhood, Indonesian children can speak two languages, namely the local language (traditional language, i don't know how its called) and Indonesian language. and we are of course learning English too 😅
and arabic sometimes, and Japanese for me cause i love anime 😅
Wow genesia i like the vibe, she beautiful and smart, more her videos pls
Omg genesia! I love her videos
ما شاء الله
That's my goal ❤❤❤love to Indonesia from Iraq
Indonesian people actually born bi-lingual because we learned speak mother tongue : Javanese/ sundanese/etc at home, at school we learned : Bahasa Indonesia (generally) and then we learned English too. When we grow up we learned another language such as Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Thailand, Germany, Spain, Italian or Arab. That's why Indonesian people can understand what our mother said with their dialect and what people said in their own language. So you can say that Indonesian people are multilingual.
Bahkan anak kota Indonesia itu dilahirkan langsung belajar 2 bahasa ibu (bhs daerah & bhs Indonesia), belum lagi bhs daerah terkadang ada 2 bahasa=halus dan ngoko (jawa).
Gw Indo, sunda, jawa tengahan, inggris😅

Indonesian (especially those who born in big cities and Java) are born bilingual, speaking bahasa Indonesia and the local language. And because bahasa Indonesia is a language with minimal to no accent, we pronounce all latin alphabet letters without alteration; thus making it easier for us to pronounce other languages.

She also miss Indonesia 2017 from South sumatera and maybe i think she know some accent more than it

Any Indonesian kid will speak at least 2 language (Indonesian and local language) and maybe English (at least understand some of it). And quite a lot of Indonesian is polyglot in most wider variety. Some understand European languages such as English, French, German, Dutch, etc. Some will understand eastern languages like Chinese, Korean, Japanese. Some also understand languages like Arabic, Hindi, Turkish, etc
I myself capable of speaking Indonesian (as a native tongue). English (fluent) French (been too long not speaking it actually but still understand it) Arabic (at least basic form), and 2 local languages (Sundanese and Javanese).
So yeah........ in Indonesia there is always somebody you can speak fluently. One way or another

Cracking because the subtitle while she was speaking Indonesian is only: "Speaking Bahasa Indonesia" 😭😭😭😭
Dhe should learn one of the latin languange. Once she master it, she could easily speak French, Portuguese, Spanish and Italian.
A lot of Indonesians are actually polyglots by nature because of the diversity of languages there.
In most cases, an average Indonesian kid would be able to fluently speak 4 languages : Bahasa Indonesia, the kid's native regional language, and his/her mother and father's native language.
English are taught at schools by default.
Muslim indonesian Gen Zs are even pretty good at Arabic since they're taught Arabic at school (I've seen these cases on my nephews and their friends)
That's why when an Indonesian kid goes overseas, that kid would be able to learn a new language pretty quickly.
I've met a lot of Filipinos, Malaysians and Papua New Guineans that has these cases too.
I'm Indonesian, learning english, spanish, dutch, french, Italian, and portuguese.

I’m also Indonesian who speaks more than 2 languages. I speak fluent English, Indonesian as well, and also Javanese as my daily conversational language. For additional, I speak basic Korean and Japanese for business purposes since I’m currently working at 4 stars hotel. And I can say that I’m proud being a polyglot without even having a formal courses since I was a kid. So, I think that being multilingual in Indonesia is a common thing because our people are actually fast learners.

Thank you Genesia, u completely awesome!
Most indonesians speak at least two languages, bahasa indonesia and local dialect. Plus, some muslim part speak arabic. Plus, urban people speak engliah as well.
local languages are actually has different meanings with dialect. Dialect is just uhmm different in accent just like the American said "a" more to e and so on. Javanese, minang, and other local language just different
@@rhea2811 that maybe what we call it "accent". While "local dialect" is more than an accent. It has its own rules and vocabularies, simply like a language as we know normally.
Omg, I was shock for seconds. One of my Idols invited to this Channel 😅😅.
Indonesia is polyglot warehouse naturally, by default since born at least know 2-3 languages (mother and father native languages plus Bahasa Indonesia) then if muslim will learn how to read Arabic letters for Quran learning (just can read but doesnt know the meaning), history also showed the first president of Indonesia is polyglot as well (between 7-8 languages), the education system too encourage people to learns many foreigns language, English is fixed courses then (optional in govt public school other languages is Japanese and Germany).
9:49 😂those moments when there's some kind of tendency to intentionally put in your Indonesian accent, either to be sound more humble or something similar

Local language
Street language
Formal language
As a indonesia student, thats why i wanted to learn a other language in another country
And you know, cause i like a historycall, so much :v

Speaking fluently in several languages is one of my dreams.
I understand English well, are exposed to Japanese and Korean quite a bit to know some, currently learning Spanish and dreaming to be able to speak both French and Italian. Greedy indeed, but i find those languages beautiful and dying to learn and master them.
