Loved the new style of camera work - was uniquely effective and definitely fits your video styles perfectly. Also just realised you lived the path I want to walk so hopefully will be working with you in a few years time!
As a worship guitarist, I also had to know how to make reverb do its thing. And I enjoy it so very much. The Line6 Glitz reverb in my Pod Go is so much fun.
20- year church player here. I’ve found that if you give God’s people enough reverb and delay, maybe…maybe…(you can get away with the occasional wahwah). Ssssh, just don’t advertise it 😊
I bought the fender reflecting pool pedal. I don’t use the delay often, but I like the different sounds. I enjoy the reverb effect. To me it just gives that little bit of extra depth and resonance. It’s the only effect I always have on.
to sing as well.... I hate studios cause they are all prepared for recording to avoid natural reverberation. As a singer, it's so amazing so sing in a HALL!!
Hey Mike, thanks for this video! I am new to guitar only been playing for about two years and I dont understand any of those types of effects. This has really helped me understand how to use reverb and what its purpose is. Could you do more videos on all the other types of effects? Thanks man.
Modulate and Dynamic on my RV6 are my favourite types of Reverb. I got really into Beach House and Slowdive (who make all their music based off Reverb) about a year ago and they’ve completely changed my perspective on Reverb, it’s definitely my most used effect now
I love reverb! not all reverb is created equal. I love Marshall's digital reverb on their MG series amps. Pedal wise, Electro-Harmonix Holy Grail Max. sidenote, I was able to dial in the EHX HG max to almost mirror the marshall mg digital reverb.
I love a good spring reverb always use it pretty wet with clean tones, to me a strat sounds dead without the right amount of reverb and that depends on how much you want. Reverb is really the single most important effect
Plate is the best of all reverbs. You can make it sound like there is no reverb at all, it's so versatile. Then you can make it sound big and lush. It melts seamlessly on a track. I think bits because there is little early reflections in its sound.
Because your really young guy. 🙂In 80's and 90's reverb, delay and chorus where the base of the first gig to buy. The basic was an ampli with distorion channel (so footswitch) and a reverb or delay pedal or both depends on the money.
I do a lot of church gigs, and for those, the big sky is still king for me. But I also do a lot of country gigs, and for that, I prefer the flint just for its simplicity and the fact that it has trem. I use trem a TON in country.
I use a Strymon Flint. Plate for subtle reverb to add a bit of space, and Hall for bigger and more ambient sounds (with delay in worship music at church). I got the Favorite switch to go between them.
My very first amp was a Peavy Backstory Plus: 35 watts of solid state joy with a spring reverb and Saturation control (basically a distortion knob that you can work in conjunction with the pre-amp volume). I tend to go light with reverb and use delay for more ambient or "wetter" sounds. To this day, I still don't own a separate reverb pedal......but my Boss CH-1 has never left my side 😀.
I'm in a sorta weird place on this 'cause, one the one fork of the tail, as a player and a songwriter I *love* lush reverbs and space effects. But on the other, as my own engineer and producer; and as someone who likes to mix in a ton of weird electronic industrial elements on all my tracks; when I'm recording I want that all that space be applied in the DAW after the fact so that it fits with the other elements of the song. So I end up using a ton of reverb and delay and yet rarely ever really getting to *play* with it. :)
Now, I'm not a scolar in the world of music, far from it, however I do know this. People overthink music and equipment way to mutch. It all boils down to this. If it looks and sounds awesome to you, use it. If not, ditch it. In the end, it is all a preference and other people will like it or not. Every single band has that happening. Stop focussing on perfection and make and play what you love to hear and it doesn't really matter what other people think.
Having started learning guitar just over a year ago through youtube and the rest of the internet, there are so many hard "rules" that people make for themselves like "Less is more" that may apply in one circumstance but not in all. At the end of the day, who cares if you have maxed your reverb out if it sounds good for that song in that gig?
I think the guitar players who are wrong about reverb, or effects in general, are the ones coming from a blues background. Pretty much all the rest of us are: “oh yeah baby slather on that ‘verb nice n THIC” Of course worship gigs want heavy reverb, they don’t care about your skills they just want those pretty ambient sounds the guitar can make with the right effects.
Tbh I don’t care about trying to conform to a genre of music. I would rather create something new or breathe new life into a genre that’s dead. So guitar effects are just a means for that.
Definitely use more hall reverb than plate. Really love the effect can play with it for hours and inspire’s my song writing! Also love working with tremolo! Thanks for the great video!👍🎸❤️💕🙏🤗✌️👋

Worship guy here, too. We should open the door to more sounds.
@@oreally8605 I would love that personally.

This might have been my favorite UAFX launch video so far. I also like your Rhett Shull approach to your videos, very engaging. 😺👍
As someone who loves reverb, its so refreshing to play in rooms that give the effect naturally.

Explained reverb in a way I've never heard before. Love this!
Reverb makes such a difference, whether it comes from a pedal or your amp. TC Electronic’s Hall of Fame 2 does everything I need and a ton more.
Modulate and Dynamic on my RV6 are my favourite types of Reverb. I got really into Beach House and Slowdive (who make all their music based off Reverb) about a year ago and they’ve completely changed my perspective on Reverb, it’s definitely my most used effect now
As a vocalist, Rwverb can he the pnly thing in my vocal chain, and I'd be satisfied.
Good Christ man, I get one or two typos, but three consecutive ones? Just about had a stroke reading that.

Evidently, you have no idea what needs to be in a signal path for a vocal track.
I came to love the plate reverb for the ambient stuff, so functional and versatile
If I could have only 2 pedals, it would be delay and reverb........ Thanks Mike

Right on for playing Shiver!! And huzzah for reverb!
I'm a big fan of reverb. I set my amp's spring reverb fairly lightly, just enough so that I sound like I'm floating.
Plate is the best of all reverbs. You can make it sound like there is no reverb at all, it's so versatile. Then you can make it sound big and lush. It melts seamlessly on a track. I think bits because there is little early reflections in its sound.
If you're digging plate....check out a Neunabor Wet. It's a plate that can be pretty saturated but still not overwhelm your tone.
Because your really young guy. 🙂In 80's and 90's reverb, delay and chorus where the base of the first gig to buy. The basic was an ampli with distorion channel (so footswitch) and a reverb or delay pedal or both depends on the money.
Haha why did I think this was about the online musical instrument resale sight?

As a surf guitar player, spring reverb is king! I like to add a touch of Tremolo on some songs as well.
Reverb is by far my favourite effect so I have three ‘verbs on my board. I treat them like ODs. Have one as normal, then big, then huge.
I use a Strymon Flint. Plate for subtle reverb to add a bit of space, and Hall for bigger and more ambient sounds (with delay in worship music at church). I got the Favorite switch to go between them.
I exclusively use the spring reverb on my amp. Given it's a vintage Twin Reverb so it's a pretty damn good spring reverb
I only have the Spring and Hall reverb features on a Yamaha THR5 desktop amp. These all sound good. This investigation was helpful.
3:00 how could this be? More IS more.
This was very helpful. I love me some reverb. It's a must.
Depends on the genre really, but agreed

I dig what you do. Thanks!
Very helpful vid, can you do one on delay next?
I use a digitech supernatural on the plate setting for my worship reverb.. it gets plenty ambient.
When I saw the title, I thought you were talking about the gear website 😂
Great presentation!
Tanx for the lesson. I play worship music and i better know how to use the reverb.
Please give us an apartment tour
I use a Ambient Room reverb from the Quad Cortex or the Strymon Cloudburst pedal.
wasnt expecting the coldplay
I like Plate and Hall equally. Hall when I play rock stuff and plate when its surf rock time!

Hey man, Buckland didn't use any reverb on Shiver!
wait... to worship God you need to have a lot of reverb and delay? Are you worshipping God or are you worshipping good music?
I believe the reason is because reverb and delay is meant to replicate the feeling of being in a cathedral. So it’s all about escaping the reality.
Do you really need reverb in a church?
Reverb is life. Specifically, spring reverb.
It seems like most modern worship guitar is U2-sound based.
Plate over Hall every day of the week.
Lol he tried playing a U2 cover gig errrr “church gig” 😂 without reverb/delay 😂😂😂😂😂 omg I’d love to hear that. Probably was hilarious.
Being a fan of indie rock/dream pop, nobody ever needed to convince me to use reverb
100 Billion X vibes at around 7:20
I love the reverb effect but I hate the website reverb. They effed me over for the last time.

Still wondering what pre-delay is lol
Time before the reverb kicks in
Get as many effects pedals as possible, and set them all to 11. No need to thank me! 😉
I’ve been criticized in a joking way that I drench in reverb. Oh well
❤❤
Who cares once there aren't any microphoned drums in the room?! Namastè.
I would politely request not having the same confused looking thumbnail and random WORDS in CAPITALS, but I suppose that’s what drives clicks.
Didn't watch the whole video, but the pedals are not good.
Strymon gives you all 3 for the same price
