- My Wave arrived today here in Nashville, two days after it was shipped from Andertons in London. (DHL rocks!)
Many years ago I owned a complete PPG system with Wave 2.2 & 2.3, EVU, PRK and Waveterm A. I’m very familiar with the PPG sound and it is my favorite synth of all time. This is a quick demo made after I ran through the presets to find the most iconic PPG sounds. Bank 1 contains several authentic PPG presets, which I used in this demo. For each sound I played three variations, first a few notes totally dry, and I then added the Specular Tempus effects pedal set to the Spacious preset and then the Angels preset. No EQ or compression was used, and the signal was recorded directly to an iPhone using an audio to USB converter.
Fortunately I logged all of my original favorite PPG programs before selling my system in 2003. I will be loading those programs into the Behringer Wave in a forthcoming video for comparison.
But for now I’m extremely impressed with this new Wave - it does sound like a PPG!
Awesome sounds, I look forward to hearing more 😊
Nice, very clean tones and sounds great with the Reverb. Mine should come today :)
I can't wait until mine arrives. Thanks for your video! Not many videos on youtube yet
Reminds of a d550
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏🤗🤗
Hey John, cool video! Curious , you mention you got it in two days from Anderson’s in London. Did you just order it two days ago or did you preorder it a good while before then and they just shipped it out two days ago? Sorry for a dumb question !
Hello From north west Alabama also , I have to go pick up a Hammond a102 next week in Franklin actually!
Best,
Ethan
I preordered it on December 10th, and Andertons was the only place accepting orders at that time. (Sweetwater didn’t even have it listed on their site at that point.)
But they shipped it last Tuesday via DHL and it arrived Thursday afternoon.
Cool! Btw are those 4:3 monitors?
Yes, old Dell monitors each attached to two iBooks below the desk, which don’t support widescreen resolutions. Although I have many current and modern pieces of gear I never stop using the old stuff. For example, the ancient Dell laptop is used for one thing only - running the Spectrasonics Atmosphere plugin in stand alone mode.
