However its too difficult to throw weapons because us console peasants have to press stab and overhead at the same time, often leading to feinting instead of throwing, so its never worth it in risky place
Amazing guide with amazing visuals! I already know everything about the officer class but it was still entertaining to watch. Keep up the good stuff my guy!
This is very helpfull for new players like myself. It is free on PS console this month so I guess a lot of people will try it. I myself am hooked! Hope to see some more guides in future for other classes as well. Thx for your effort!
Wait, i thought that blunt weapons could hit multiple opponents with heavy attacks and that the Men at Arms had 0,5 cooldown on dashes Has this been changed ?
Its hands down the easiest subclass in the game, you have the most armour in the game throwing knifes and longsword which has the reach of a messer but the speed of a short sword. And you can get war horn. Not hating on anyone perticuler its just that officer has so many benifits and no real down side. Your litteral only job on the battlefield is to run straight to the enemy and fight on the front lines
You're most certainly correct. It is the easiest, but not to any fault of the game balance. It just happens to be easier to utilize an increased health bar than it does increase speed or improved range.
@@SoterDave i think its good they did it because most new players even when i was new was captivated by using a longsword and being a knight so it honestly makes sense that theyd give the most iconic class set up ever as the first one anyone could play
The Heavy Mace is one of the few weapons in the game that feels like it can do "anything", because it has blunt bonus extremely "appropriate" hits to kill on every class. Its animations are great, being that 2h blunt animations have only been truly held back by being on slow weapons, and in particular its stab gets the 5 damage it really really needed. It's maybe not as universal as the greatsword, but it's the only blunt weapon in the entire game which can come close, not that that changes how every problem I have with pub TO is answered or mitigated by being on Greatsword Knight. I think it was a mistake to put the Greatsword on knight, genuinely. Other than that, another funny note is that the Knight is the only class which, when overhealed, can tank a ballista shot without using a shield. Ballistas do 200 damage to the body, so if they hit your legs while you're overhealed you can live! Lastly, the poleaxe is good if odd and specialized. Just wait for Ziggy's poleaxe propaganda video.
I find Raider and Officer to be two sides of the same coin. Both have strong weapons on their primary and secondary so they can take on any kind of enemy. But Officer is more of a defensive support who helps the team on objectives using his versatile and powerful weapons to take on enemies that other subclasses may struggle with. It's slower than the Raider but tankier which means you can count on Officer to stay alive with the team using throwing knives, tackle enemies to gank with a teammate, horn to patch up the team in a vicinity and either of his weapons that may have chop, blunt or a fast cut so anyone is game. Officer does best by moving along with the team to objectives.
Question about speed tho. So obviously knight slowest class and vanguard is fastest class but does that effect the punch speed or the crouch speed of the character or just the movement speed
A projectile that is thrown: good. A projectile that is shot from a siege engine: good. A projectile that is shot from a player: bad? I don't get it. They're all equally annoying to get taken down by.
No offense to you or anything but "i don't know the button on console" is a kind of weird thing to hear in a video with as much effort put into it as you state. Don't tell me a video that takes weeks to complete wouldn't have left capacity for a piece of information that simple.
That's fair! I made sure to pin a comment from WhiteWolf247 which says which button it is on console, which would be left on the D-Pad. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Unfortunately to make them at this quality I would have to take about a couple months in between each. What I think I'll do is release them as noteworthy events happen like updates for the game or big streams like today's charity stream. To get something out sooner though I'm thinking about making overarching class guides for the four main classes which will have the typical production quality which will allow me to get them out much faster. The subclass guides will be the really high quality ones.
@@SoterDave sounds good. There are a few more similar roles like Crusader and Devastator, officer and raider, crossbow and bowman, man-at-arms /guardian that also could be compared or versused up and then specialists like engineer / ambusher and Pole with skirmish. Just an idea, keep it up !
@@RB028 The next Subclass Guide will be Devastator. The one after that will be Poleman. Then Bowman. As for the lower quality broad main-class videos, I think I'll do Knight first.
Am I the only one who feels the mounted combat in chiv is... Awful? I'm a Mordhau player very new to chiv, only been playing for a couple days but the horses just feel so damn clunky.. Pretty much all of chiv is slower than Mord and there's nothing wrong with that, but when it comes to horses they just feel straight up bad. Turning is too slow, base movement and sprint speed are too slow, and the animations look hilariously amateurish.
Throwable is left on the D-pad for console players
Thanks! Pinned!

Officer is a great class. Too bad for the -100% mustache debuff
RIP, Dave. The community misses you! ⚔
Beautifully made! Hope to see more of these!
Slowly but surely
This was a great balance of thorough, concise, and easy to follow. 1:32 A-mace-ing work, thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it!
These guides made getting into the game so much easier, you'll always be remembered o7
This is the best Subclass guide I've seen! Can't wait to see more of these!

Easy to follow video superbly made! 10/10 Onward to the light brother!
Thank you for the kind words. Next one coming soon!
I love this and this series will be a great tool for new players to figure out what to play

Glad you're here

I agree with everything you said. Even Greatsword being put on Knight. If anything, it shouldn't be on Officer. They should put it on Crusader
@@SoterDave Crusader already has the better greatsword anyway after all, wouldn't even be a problem at that point.
Officer is best summed up as hold W and kill everything
3:11 explain how he can manage to blow the war horn while hes wearing that helmet
There is a very tiny whole in the front of the helmet, where he then places the horn, creating a vacuum :)

Just movement speed. Meaning strafe and sprint speed.

Most lilkely not!

No, I think a B-tier duelist would be best suited on Skirmisher 😳
