Say what you want about the horn, I love being a team player and healing others with the bandage kit. Especially low HP team mates that are surrounded, it just feels so right being that saving angel that comes in and not only helps them fight the enemy but also healing them.
The Horn can do that but better, and it provides overhead. But I still love bandage kits because I feel its much easier to use in a party, where you're focusing on your friends instead of the team as a whole.
@@SoterDave i like being able to help a single teammate without feeling like i wasted a 800 point horn possibility
@@SoterDave True and the bandage kit just feels good to use that guy that is in trouble. That guy being one of your friends makes it even better
@@wise1023 Yeah. Like I said, I feel it's best when trying to upkeep specific individuals.
Bandage kit is only one that instantly stops fire damage. And med kits can activate traps (chandeliers , torches etc)
The way you format your subclass videos are charming.
Thank you very much! They take lots of work!
@@SoterDave are you going to make one for every subclass?
@@OrangeManta104 I mean, I'll try. But I may not succeed. They take an incredible amount of work.
@@SoterDaveare you really dead?
I just wish healthpacks could clip through full health teammates. So many times I've seen an injured teammate get hit with an oil pot, I throw a kit, a random runs by and it bounces off their head 30 ft behind me. Other teammate dies.
Apparently this was adjusted so bandages bounce off of full health teammates significantly less often.
@@SoterDaveare you really dead?
@@David-sc5kfsadly, he is.
RIP SOTER DAVE
I think it's worth noting that the Poleman's sprint attack bonus applies to every weapon in the game, rather than just the native weapons. Stealing a Greatsword boosts the 60 damage sprint attack to 75, while the Mace, Morning Star, and Warhammer have a base Sprint Charge damage of 50 (this translates to 87 damage if it hits a knight!)
With stolen weapons, you can theoretically become a better Knight than playing the Knight proper.
Polehammer is life. Good speed and damage all around though the range can be tricky. Every time im having a hard time i pull out my trusty pole hammer. FOR SIG- im mean FOR MALRIC AND THE MASON ORDER!
BY THE TWIN-TAILED COMET!
@@ConnosieurofScotchandLilies BY THE HAMMER AND EMPIRE. I ABJURE THEEEEEEE
Hell yea! Im a big fan of pole hammer and halberd in LTS
halberd 4 life
Subbed and liked the series! Cant wait for the bowman, im surprised the crossbow isn’t popular its so easy to use
We may be skipping bowman for Guardian haha. We'll see
Wow suprised you don’t have more subscribers, this is some high value production
I appreciate the kind words!
Amazing video, and great editing.
Thanks 🙏
The quality on these sun class videos is absolutely top teir thanks
No problem
The glaive is awesome 😂 I purposely started this game focused on Wesker weapons. Once I'm done with them I will be a beast with a powerful weapon.
Makes sense
This videos production value is insane, it should have more than 30k view
I'm glad you think so! Thanks for the kind words.
Killer video Dave!
thanks!
Awesome video as always, reminds be a little bit of team fortress 2 class videos. Also want to note that on the upcoming patch, the handle hits will be reworked, I speculate that includes the poleman weapons, those fast and hard to defend release hits will be no more I think. ''Many weapons were able to land hits earlier than intended due to tracers encompassing the handle of the weapon. Most notable offenders include weapons such as the poleaxe and pickaxe. To address this, tracers for all weapons were readjusted.''
Meta jank just ain't my thing. Never cared for it
@@SoterDaveI have two questions regarding this game: 1: Is Men at arms in chivalry 2 as they were in the first game and were very fast but light armor ? and
2: Just read some of the reviews on steam about Chivalry 2 and apparently some people have said that Amazon (that online shopping website) is stealing information when people load up the game ,, My question is how? when Amazon had nothing to do with making this game
@@michaelhawkins7389 1. Yes
2. I have no idea about this
@@SoterDave oh okay and thankyou :)
Thanks
woooo! great guide!
Thanks
Can't wait to see how you evaluate my man at arms with the rapier
Might be a while but hopefully I get to it eventually haha
playing this game on and off i've been gravitated to the Poleman from the very beginning because after the tutorial the game MADE ME a poleman in the little "ai battle" that happens after. this is an amazing guide. I personally think compared to The Officer, The Poleman is a better class for new players to use since it has so many advantages over The Officer:
A healing ability that can stack up to three times and is carried over lives, sure you can heal teammates BUT you can also heal yourself with them by walking about them, so with bandage, Polemen stay around a lot longer... also you can kill a downed player with them which is hilarious.
The longest reaching weapons in the game, with some of the hardest hitting attacks on top of them, allowing a new player to get accustomed to distancing and even having the upper hand on that.
Two special abilities while sprinting, considering everyone spawns mid sprint, this allows polemen to immediately apply high damage to a fight OR switch it up and break a shield wall for the team.
DECENT side arms, yes the cudgle sucks, the knife is meh, but the hatchet and sword are your choice to either hit knights and footmen harder, or more easily kill vanguards and archers in 1v1 combat, i tend to bring the sword with my Halberd/Pole Hammer, and the hatchet with my Spear/Glaive, so that I have some options.
Spike Traps for area denial, ramps, and decent cover from archers
and like you said, not the touchest class, but also not the SLOWEST, meaning they can dodge more than the knight and even clang metal more than a vanguard.
All around a great subclass!
I would love to see a subclass guide to the man at arms since i wanna know all the tips and tricks for him
Perfect counters, dodge spam
Another banger 👍👍👍
😎
Excellent video
Glad you enjoyed it!
This was really good content
Glad you enjoyed it!
I find I can safely use the special attack against players that spam block to parry is amazing. Even the most veteran player's run from the stamina punishment.
I agree!
I love these subclass videos 🫡
I'm glad you love them
Billhook my beloved
frfr
bandage can put peoples arms back on in case they got it cut off :D i dont think horn can do this although i may be wrong
Dave, in TO pubs, what do you think about guardian vs man at arms? Is that movement speed and dodges worth less HP and less durable shield? Or should I rather "warhammer goes bonk-bonk" and enjoy my banner?
Guardian is superior because that banner is invaluable but that doesn't mean MAA isn't worth playing. I main MAA and enjoy it plenty.
nice vid man, idk the glaive had more reach than halberd, which move the slash, over head or stab?
I'm fairly certain it has the same animations as the Halberd, so in theory all attacks.
best guide ive ever seen, played this game since launch and i never knew medkits pick up downed teammates
yep! it's super useful!
Poleman is life.
Poleman is love
upvoted for the quarterstaff comment
lol
Great taste of music
Carpenter brut: you are mine
It's great!
My baby
Med kits are the best way to trigger traps on a pinch.
True, but so are throwing knives.
@@SoterDave The advantage is that you can use med kits while still holding on to your first weapon.
I had no idea you could use a pole vault kick as poleman
Yep!
Was your main in the first Chiv a Longsword Knight ?
Nope
isnt the poleaxe on officer as well?
the poleaxe is on officer, but not the polehammer.
Halberd gang
W
Wait is the glaive really that bad? I thought it was the best since its the last unlock and its pretty quick.
Unfortunately it's the worst polearm by far. It has its pros, but they don't make up for its weaknesses.
This is the Sigma Class.
Agreed 💯
For those who don't know, that weapon is called the billhook.
The best halberd skin!
The bandage should heal for full health, this would disable noobs from popping bandages right after you just gave them one.
This is a good idea 💡
Either that or enginer ability to heal yourself when used
Forgot to add that spikes could stop a horse right in its track ending a players horserun pretty quick
Definitely should go over that in a future video
on what serwers are you playing ? Edit* Region ?
US East and US Central
Can’t believe you just said the glaive is “relatively unimpactful weapon compared to the others” when pole hammer happens to be included with “the others”. 😂
Polehammer, despite its flaws, is significantly more viable than the Glaive.
@@SoterDaveOk but I’m not changing my opinion I still believe it goes 2-handed spear, halberd, glaive then pole hammer
@@DozerB555 that's fine. I believe that the glaive falls short due to its relatively low stamina damage and its inability to two-shot Knights.
@@SoterDave Actually that is one reason I see glaive could be behind pole hammer is the stamina damage is trash
Glaive is I think quite significantly good in LTS, but more as a raider option than as a poleman option because of the slight footwork diff and having a dane axe or messer complement for dueling situations. It basically offers war club level interrupts but with no hitstop and over halberd range which is simply obscene for enabling your teammates to do much more than the damage you're leaving on the table by using glaive.
I would disagree with the A tier rating on defense, as "maintaining player lives" is so much more important than it is on offense because of the horrendous spawn behaviors and the huge advantages that pole weapons have against players incoming to a wall of teammates. Bandage Kits are better than horn and worse than banner at "maintaining player lives" because of the consistent ability to save. Poleman is just easily S tier everywhere in every situation other than a 1v1 as long as it's on halberd or spear.
All the weapons viability is taking subclass context into account (being used on Poleman) which means the Glaive is basically the worst option. Also, regarding the tier rating on Defense of Offense, it isn't so much that Poleman is better on offense than it is on defense, but that other subclasses are better than it on defense. When all the subclass guides are finished, the ratings will make more sense. But if you want to see the subclass tier list that I've made to base those ratings off of, just DM me at 20mm#9000
@@SoterDave Guardian, Engineer, Crossbowman(limited number), and spear specifically on poleman are easy defensive S tiers if you want to know where I'm sitting on how I was weighting things. It's more like Engineer is S+ or SS and then everything else is about combat contribution though unless you intend combat engineer to be the sole S tier.
@@sunderkeenin If you wanna see the tier list, DM me! Or maybe I'll make a video on it.
@@SoterDave probably good to use it as a video idea and then argue with me and kc in vc at some point lmao.
The polehammer is an absolute pile driver, but the halberd is just too slow for me. You can hit multiple people with the polehammer if you use the stab or chop so 1vX isn’t impossible
Or heavy swing
I think the field engineer and/or the poleman should get some sort of ammo pack in addition. Medkit is just mediocre against banner and horn. Also ambusher doesn’t fit the medkit at all 🥲
Although the medkit is pretty mediocre, it's distinct enough that it still is worth using. But yes, it should be taken off Ambusher immediately
@@SoterDave it’s good for what it is, it’s just not as good as the other abilities. I wouldn’t buff it tho, just add a ammo pack to emphasize the support of certain players :))
I need a chivalry gang I’m a fucking knight of the round table in the game
Lmao
GIVE POLEMAN THE FKING QUARTERSTAFF TB.
Hey now... i love my glaive bruh. I be smoking everyone even the halberds... duels and in game.. the speed and range with good movement and etc can make you very very hard to fight
You can still totally do great with it, I just think it's the weakest two handed weapon
Why the hell do overheads often do more damage than slashes? This game really needs more detailed weapon stats in game
Game balance. Overheads typically have less range and (because they're vertical) hit less players.
@@SoterDave oh, i guess that makes sense then
@@eelyy212 Also in real life a hit from above almost always has more power in it than a slash due to gravity.
The glaive doesn't have more range than the halbred
I'm sorry, but it does
Say what you want I am still a glaive enjoyer
I have no hate for the Glaive
0:25 name a protagonist who uses a halberd or a polehammer or a glaive (except Persona 3 female protagonist)
Spear is more common I guess but I can only remember MAIN CHARACTERS who use spear but I don't know any PROTAGONISTS that use it.
Not sure 😔
Pretty hard to hear you over the other sounds in this video.
Thank you for the feedback. I'll take this into account next time
noo where hilda pfp
sorry! gotta rebrand!
Failed to mention the medkit can kill. 0/10
My apologies
play chiv with me
I'm busy!
I enjoy the hell out of this game but you pc players having a specific button to press instead of hold to crouch is the most unfair thing ive ever seen
I'm sorry 😞
meta noob
😔
If you have to tell people that the helmet is stylish, then it's not very stylish then is it? 😄
One of the worst looking helmets in the game imo.
But it makes you look like a conquistador!
@@SoterDave
But that's not even the right helmet for a conquistador, no red feather for a start and it's way too tall and pointy.
Conquistador helmets are more rounded at the top with a ridge or mohawk going from back to front and at the base it's more pointed at the back and front, usually with a big red feather.
Sorry to be the 'actually guy' 🤓 but if you look up conquistador under Images, none of the helmets look anything like that tower of a helmet. 😄
@@Jono_93 I can't put a feather on the helmet 😞. Only Knight can do that.
The helmet looks great!
@@SoterDave
It's a shame there's no mix and match with the armour for all classes, that would alleviate the lack customisation.
That could maybe lead to confusion with distinguishing between the classes, they could limit it to helmets at least though.
I personally only like a handful of the armour sets in the game, most of it looks a bit goofy imo, especially some of the knight armour.
