Makita, the only brand still pushing mostly brushed tools with battery deals during the Black Friday/Christmas sales. This actually worked out in my favor though because it got me into Flex and Milwaukee tools.

Ive burnt up one or two Makita tools over the years. We use them very hard though. I also have tools and batteries that are 13-14 years old and still running strong.

As for XGT tools, I have had no issues except for one battery I had fail (forgot to mention it in the video).

I’m with you it’s hard to kill Makita tools. Love their lights got the spot light you showed got it for 79$ when they first came in at HD .

I changed out the plastic chuck on the subcompact drill when I got it - have loved it since. Also, the subcompact multi-tool and recip saw are both insanely good. I have seen multiple channels open them up and they seem to be surprisingly well made. Havent had problems with anything makita (I have 15-20 or so) except that god forsaken pin nailer

The black or white tools are like homeowner grade tools. I grabbed a white combo set bc it was a great deam, wasn't what i needed and swapped for their flagship models

I never had overheating my 36v chainsaw. I even cut down a couple smaller tress fully with 8 batterys. Kinda weird. Also have the biggest 36v trimer it eats batterys but its strong as a smaller gas trimer.

The only 12V Makita gear I'll touch is stuff like laser levels, etc. I've got a heap of LXT and XGT gear but I won't do dual battery 18Vx2 stuff .. to me they're a compromise. I've never had a Makita fail on me unlike Dewalts and Metabos that have died. I'm looking forward to getting my hands on the new XGT sanders ... I've got a ton of Festool sanders but never liked their cordless offerings and haven't been that impressed with other cordless sanders on the market to date. I'm loving the compatibility of Makita and Festool track systems .. I'm finding Makita to be the perfect complement to Festool. When Makita finally release their cordless framing nailer here in Oz I'll probably be able to get all of the yellow out of my workshop!
Things like chainsaws for me are Stihl although a shipping error resulted in me keeping a large Makita XGT blower that I simply use for blowing out the workshop.
Less frequently referenced Makitas I really like are the backpack chemical sprayers and the portable fridges. Both have performed extremely well for me.
Next Makitas for me will be XGT sanders, LXT 9mm belt sander and possibly the XGT bandsaw. The 1/2" XGT router is looking interesting too now that you can get a remote battery lead to avoid top heavy mishaps.

As a Canadian I hate the cordless makita stuff, its like 700$ for the 40v drill and impact combo that last the same as the 300$ dewalt set and has less power.
Also the LXT batteries suck, I dunno wtf happens to them but that stupid yellow tab on them always breaks somehow and then they dont fit on anything.
Although i do 100% agree Milwaukee is absolute unreliable garbage, makita makes decent tools but theres litterally zero value to them and im deadass pretty sure i can get hilti stuff for cheaper.
