My father bought a Massey Harris 44 when I was a kid and later he had Massey Fergusons. Now we have Challengers. Always been partial to AGCO. I like the CVT but it is smarter than I am! Thanks for video.
I'm a Massey guy, but those orange Agco DT tractors are some of the best looking tractors ever built. Too bad they quit making them in that color. On our farm the list of Masseys would be 165, 1085, 5465, 7480, 7624, 8660. And mid summer there should be a 8S.265. Thanks for the video
My son and I in our haying operation use a White 2-155, Allis-Chalmers 185, and we are currently restoring a couple Olivers that belonged to my grandfather and father, a Fleetline 77 and 88.
I love the Allis Chalmers. My grandpa Harris used to own and farm with them. He started out with the Allis Chalmers crawlers and then he went with their tractors. The HD47 crawler is still around. He said they were loud when you farm with them. The reason why he went with John Deere you ask why: Because Allis Chalmers sold out. He tried Duetz Allis and other brands then he chose to go with John Deere. He never went big when he owned Allis Chalmers. He had Gleaner at the time too. The Gleaner N6 is still on the farm.
I really enjoyed seeing and hearing about these old tractors. Plus the old discs and all behind them. Really loved seeing the Oliver. They were popular when I grew up in potato country. Thank you for sharing these
Thank you for watching again. I forgot to include the Valtra. It bothered me not to have the full AGCO line so pulled version one and posted again to show the Valtra 8950.
Was goes to stir and question about Valtra before the name change from Valmet but you and your friends/colleagues do a fantastic job and I am always amazed you haven't with worn yourselves out or bankrupted yourself on fuel costs as it is.
Now an 1855 makes a whole lot more sense. Lol. One of these days I really want to run an Agcostar. Just don’t see that many. Agco probably should have pushed sales on them a lot harder than they did because they are really simple well put together tractors. I know they are trying to define their whole “brand identity” by consolidating lines but I wish they would have kept the orange and silver tractors.
Our farm has had 2 Agcostars over the years, they are great tractors. Very simple and well put together like you said. I always figured they would’ve sold better with a power shift or at least a synchro instead of the Eaton. 100% agree about sticking with the orange/silver.
I grew up driving HD-6 Allis Chalmer crawler tractors on our farm on the rolling Palouse Hills of Eastern Washington. We eventually aquired three 440 Allis Chalmer wheel tractors that came with 555 V-8 Cummins engines that we ended up converting to 855 Cummins engines. We did this by extending the front end of the frames to make room for the larger In-line 6 engines. These were marvelous tractors--even with thew old "tripple-nickle" V-8's. My Dad and brothers and I logged a lot of hours over our 2,400 acre farm on those great-hearted tractors!
Thank you for sharing. What a great high horse power tractor history with the HD6 and the 440. The Palouse is an area I would like to feature. I do have a 7722 and 1470 combine filmed from the Palouse that I will feature next summer.
The Allis - Chalmers MFWD 8070 is my favorite. I don't have any on my farm today, but back in the day when it was new, I had the privilege of operating one for a guy and to me it was a major upgrade in the cab. A lot more leg room, didn't smoke as bad as the series before. They also had made the new articulated 4 × 4 the same way.
I spent alot of my child hood in a 8050 and alot of time running my dad's 8050s and 8070. They were a comfortable quiet tractor. Would like to add one to my operation some day.
Loved seeing all of these tractors. Oliver is the one I love the most, grew up with them starting out with a 60, 77, 88 and then 1850. Love to see more of these brands. Thanks for showing them.
To this day I still think that Agco should offer all their tractor models in all the former brands colors. For example if you want the Oliver color it should come as an Agco Oliver just like buying a Chevrolet or GMC
I totally agree with you. And also keep the same engines as they were unique to each brand. I get the whole corporate thing. But it's losing touch with its roots and the people who used them
My favorite AGCO brand is both Valtra, Massey-Ferguson and Fendt, as i grew up with all three brands when i was young. I'm still young, as i'm a 22 year old dude. The first AGCO tractor i got to operate was a Fendt, don't remember the model or what year, but i have some experience from it
I've got a soft spot for Allis Chalmers and Gleaner. My grandpa and great grandpa farmed with them. They started out with a couple pull type combines but then upgraded to a single Gleaner self propelled combine and they had two Allis Chalmers 2wd tractors to do the cultivating and seeding.
Whoever owns that 8550 has done a great job keeping it together. In high winds the engine covers fly off and get dented, not big dents, like gravel dents. Also the lights usually vibrate off the back fenders, so useless anyways. Spent my youth in one, perfect size can for a 13 year old. Loved it, never let me down, lots of cultivator and chisel plow hours. Rock hard dirt if the 80s.
We ran several Cockshutt and Deutz for many years! Loved the fuel efficiency of the Deutz and they sure stuck to the ground on the hillsides! 100-06, DX120, 1850, 1855

Nice to see the Valtra, it's a brand I use on my farm here in the UK, I think I'm right in saying, they are no longer available in North America?, that is a shame, as they are one of the most reliable brands on the market
Valtra tractors are nice. Valtra dealers were discontinued in North America in 2007. They are big sellers in South America. The 8950 in this video belongs to a former Valtra dealer that farms as well. It’s their planter and grain cart tractor. Their other two main tractors are Massey Ferguson 5200 and 4900 articulated 4wds. I would like to film a new Valtra. They look impressive.

I'm a Massey and Ford guy, but I'd love to own a Detroit powered Allis one day. My favorite GM engines aren't SBCs or LS engines, it's those howling Detroit 2 strokes.
Great video Jason, That 8245 would have looked great in Orange! I'm guessing McConnell-Marc is nothing to do with the McConnell in the UK that made Saw benches and Hedge cutters.

You didn't show many historical tractors from these iconic brands. I was raised with a Cockshutt 50 then a 570 (Dad bought it at a factory to farmer sale in August 1959, Brantford, Ontario), MHF 50 then 65, couple Allis WD's in the 1950's and 1960's. Since I took over in 1981, the fleet is all Deere.

When AGCO started in 1990 they at first offered Deutz 6000 series as their utility 60-90 Hp tractors. The German mark had an unfavorable exchange rate going into 1990 so AGCO switched to Same to supply utility tractors 30-90 hp. They also used Lamborghini tractors for the White 30-90 hp tractors. The only difference was air cooled and liquid cooled engines.
Yeah we have a Euro dealer near by and they keep a very up to date line of Euro spec Valmet and Deutz, i'm old enough to remember when Valmet took over Volvo tractors. Has there ever been any of the Lamborghini or Same tractors over here?
As I recall, Massey Ferguson sold some Landini models that we serviced in the AGCO parts group, but I don’t know that there was any ownership. AGCO sold rebranded SAME mid-range models while I worked For AGCO but again, I don’t know if there was any ownership %. Fractional ownership is rather common for some sales arrangements.
Enjoyed as always. Question: implements at the beginning of vid had, on both sides, an arm only one of which was deployed and then raised at the turn around....what is it, what is it's purpose and how does it help the tractor operator? Thank you!

The best
I love 💕💕💕💕💕💕 to see 🙈🙈🙈🙈🙈 your channel sir from Pakistan my favorite chanel on UA-cam
Thank you for watching. It is always interesting to know there are tractor fans world wide.
Yeah we have a Euro dealer near by and they keep a very up to date line of Euro spec Valmet and Deutz, i'm old enough to remember when Valmet took over Volvo tractors. Has there ever been any of the Lamborghini or Same tractors over here?
Wasn’t Italian Landini also part of AGCO?
As I recall, Massey Ferguson sold some Landini models that we serviced in the AGCO parts group, but I don’t know that there was any ownership. AGCO sold rebranded SAME mid-range models while I worked For AGCO but again, I don’t know if there was any ownership %. Fractional ownership is rather common for some sales arrangements.
Enjoyed as always. Question: implements at the beginning of vid had, on both sides, an arm only one of which was deployed and then raised at the turn around....what is it, what is it's purpose and how does it help the tractor operator? Thank you!
It’s called a marker on a planter
It leaves a cut in dirt telling driver the center of return pass
@@leroymiller4989 AH HA! I noticed on one pass it was definitely marking soil. THX very much!
