    I don´t know how all of youtubers at ED find the diamonds so quickly. It takes me ages till I find a decent one, or those that you can explode. Seriously, I don´t know how do they manage to make those 200 millions in an hour. I can do 200 millions in 3 hours, but not faster than that. I landed in that sweet spot and for me it was exactly like many other rings with LT diamonds.
    Anyway, thanks for the video.

    I use a Krait Phantom with 2 seismic charge launchers and 2 abrasion blasters and 104T of cargo capacity currently mining LTD's Grandidite and Void opals from Delkar 9. Be switching up to a Python when I make another 50 million and get up to 200 million in the bank.

    some people have made huge fortunes doing this, have managed 935m per run(576 +10) when the markets been good... I use 3 medium lasers with 3 limpets per gun on a cutter and swap out 2 of my collectors for a FSD booster & scoop at a close station before I jump to the selling location - and swap back after loading with limpets- mining is one of those things that the more yo do it the more successful you get - thats if you pay close to the environment and learn from it

    i find that using 2 lasers on a type 9 heave along with 1 abrasion one sub surface displacement charge and one seismic charge launcher does just fine fit the type 9 heavy with as much cargo as you can with a decent refinery and 2 limpet controllers one 3A one 5A so you can run 5 limpets that live long enough to move from one roid to another and don't require a ton of limpet ammo and one prospector limpet the pulse wave analyzer is optional but can help you fine asteroid with cores that at times harbor diamonds and every diamond counts,. once you find a hotspot you like and get in it stick to the outside of the belt where there are fewer asteroids floating. the more densely packed the roids the less you find roids with diamonds. ive been testing this for a while but if you stay near the top or bottom of the belt in the less dense roid populated area's your more likely to find diamonds. the %'s vary but almost every asteroid i mine that has them in it is on the outer edges of the belts i normally variate from top to bottom of the belt. if this works for anyone else please let me know ^_^

    It's kinda weird. Every how-to says you need to pulse and investigate the yellow asteroids. Every time I do that however, the rock is a dud.... What am I doing wrong? I spend so many limpets on scanning asteroids and go on pure luck to find them....

    Thanks mate, great vid/tips. Returning ED noob here. Just kitted out my Cobra Mk III for mining yesterday and hit the Borann hotspots. Didn't find a single LTD asteroid in 2 runs and over 2 hours out there. Has it been totally sucked dry or am I doing something wrong perhaps...? Are the LTDs only at planet A2 ring B, correct? How do I distinguish that from ring A? I just supercruised into the centre of the LTD hotspot marker & started mining the brightest roids. Then I read that they're best for deep core & I need to go for the translucent orange wire-mesh ones for surface mining, eh. But still, not a single LTD detected by all my prospectors makes me think I'm doing something very wrong. I'm playing in Solo for now btw, I assume that doesn't matter.

    • @NuLevelNerds
      @NuLevelNerds  4 роки тому

      Solo shouldn’t matter. Also they shouldn’t run out, but you’re not the first to comment that it’s hard to find. I haven’t been in that area for a bit lemme go have a look

    • @Nostromo2144

      @@NuLevelNerds Cheers, will try any/all roids when I get into a hotspot. With the Cobra Mk III I have 32 cargo so can fill that up with limpets, but does that mean I have 31 prospectors at the very most I can send out to find a LTD or Painite say, as I have to keep at least 1 in reserve for collecting, right? Also, the collectors don't move from 1 asteroid to the next, right? i.e. after u exhaust a roid & move to the next they won't move with you or come back into the hold, they just die.

    • @NuLevelNerds
      @NuLevelNerds  4 роки тому

      Collector limpets will follow you after exhausting an asteroid, they survive for about a minute and a half off the top of my head. It helps by having the larger limpet controllers to send out two or three at a time, but if you send one off just before moving on it will follow you

    • @Nostromo2144
      @Nostromo2144 4 роки тому

      @@NuLevelNerds Cheers! I assume you mean a nearby asteroid, not shoot off at top speed! ;) So I guess if you use most of them for prospecting & are left with just a few collectors, you can mine a few more rocks if you're very gentle & careful with them, yeah?

    • @Nostromo2144
      @Nostromo2144 4 роки тому

      @@NuLevelNerds Yeah would be curious to know if I'm wasting my time, as fun as mining is this early on. I guess I'd be happy with finding any more valuable ore at this stage! The best I got on my 1st 2 runs was a few Tritium, which ain't bad, but only 1/10th of what the big guns are pulling in!
      ---
      Tried again last night & only found Tritium again. I realised I need to target each roid with a 'T' to see what the prospector found inside it. That way I can skip the crap ones. But still, no LTDs in the Borann A 2 LTD hotspots I assume other players have bookmarked (yes, I did do a surface scan initially & can clearly see the bright yellow spots on the ring & fly straight into the middle of the solid yellow areas where the roids are densest...eh). I use 2X2D turreted mining lasers - do I need fixed ones instead, or an Abrasion Blaster perhaps?
      I should also mention, several times I shot the prospector out I almost immediately get the msg "Prospector limpet failed..." but then I see it shooting off into the rock & doing a full internal scan as expected - what's that all about? :-/
      Maybe I'm in the wrong ring? Should I be in the middle of the wide outer rings where 2 or 3 of the bright yellow hotspots overalap (as per nav bookmark), or the thin, inner bluish ring...? :-/ I'll take a screenshot tonight of where I go in & post it if I'm still not finding any. May try the Painite hotspots - can't be as much of a pain as LTDs lol!
      ---
      Success! I finally found 1.5 LTDs total in a double hotspot, just off centre. Found a lot of Bromellite & 4 Tritium, before I hit my first LTD roid, more by chance. I gave up on using prospectors as they were just coming back with crappy rocks, so I saved the limpets for collectors. I dragged them with me for as long as they survived from roid to roid, giving each a bit of laser to see what chunks come off. Lo & behold, I eventually found a LTD roid & got a dozen fragments from it & almost 1T total! :)
      If anyone can advise a more efficient way to use the prospectors I'd be much obliged. Is there a knack for choosing which roids to target? I still get the "prospector limpet failed' message every now & then when I shoot them, but they seem to hit the roid & scan the contents anyway, so no idea what that's all bout. Btw, do I need an abrasion blaster or just the mining lasers are fine for surface scraping...? Might try my hand at subsurface & deep core at some stage, but will definitely need a larger ship with more slots - my Cobra only has a 20T cargo hold after the essentials for surface mining! I really don't want to remove the shield gen as it's saved me through a lot of scrapes, or my flight assists until I get better. I make do without a fuel scoop, though I've seen others' loadouts who don't use the assists or even shield, which I think is crazy, but hey, each to theit own! One guy uses 3D & 1D collectors - what's the benefit other than having up to 3 out at once...or is it just that? So many options...I think the allure of ED is just the sheer complexity & options one has to learn & decisions to make. I'm not normally a big fan of sandbox games, I prefer my mmos to be quest & story based with character building, but this has got me really sucked in the 2nd time around - who would have thought?

    Oh man.. now I know why I never made any profit in my attempt to mine in this game! D: I have the game for like two weeks now and made like 50.000.000 credits just by trading missions (roughly translated: Economy Boosts), but it got quiete boring to just fly back and forth all the time. And so when I reached the 50 million I sold my Keelback and got myself a Python, equipped for mining. I had the raffinery, the drones, the mining lasers.. but I didn't know about the pulse wave analyzer! I just shot prospector limpets at asteroids and hoped for the best. As a result I always used like 100 drones for 2 diamonds :(
    Yesterday I sold my mining gear and switched to the trading gear again, but.. maybe I should give it another try with that analyser. That thing seems like it might fasten up the process.
    Not sure if I'm gonna have more success in my like fifth attempt at mining in this game, but thanks for the video. I'm incompetent by nature, but.. your video made me a bit less incompetent in this game, and that's great! =)
    So.. flying to a ring, shooting a probe at it, fly whereever some hotspots overlap and use the analyser.. and then shoot probes at the yellow ones. I should be able to do that! Right now I'm bad at everything but trading in this game. I hope I can change that later that day, thanks to your vid here!

      I did, followed multiple guides (including this one), did everything they said, and in like 4 hours (and multitudes of orange-yellow rocks, only one produced any ltds. Oh yeah. It wasn’t enough to even refine. So now I’ve got about 95% refine ltds that I can’t do anything with. I have found a bunch of liquid oxy, and methanol monohtdrate crystals though. A bunch of good that’ll do me.

    Don’t waste your time on LTD bullshit. Blows my mind that an area is listed as LTD triple hotspot but only one out of every 20 lit up gold rocks has a bullshit amount of LTD. All that 200 mil an hour is fucking bullshit.

      They nerfed it after I made the video, I believe crossover hotspots don't have the same impact anymore

    I got really boqrd flying from one space station to another looking for parts so i can then go mining. Yay the grind, oh the wonderful grind to get no where. O woot woot. I got more from doing passenger missions than mining.
    To get any where you have to collect a ore that qs far qs i can tell you can not get anywhere, this title is so frustrating its beyond belief. Yqy we now have carriers on the way. O woot woot. Whats the point in them? No low level players can afford them. There us no content. This title is heading to the scrap yard of gqme titles qnd the devs dont care. All they want to do if nuff the title to death.

      You might find eddb.io helpful, it’s a website where if you enter in the module you’re looking for it’ll tell you where to find it. Saves a lot of time, good luck!
