If you cut the rad support and fab you're own, I imagine you'll have more/better options for mounting the intercooler and radiator. This is a pretty ambitious solo build, looking forward to the wiring and tuning part for sure...
@@Four_Eyes that's a very good point as well. I do worry that I'll hate the look of a square tubing rad support but maybe I can do something to make it more visually appealing. Definitely the biggest build I've taken on so far, but really excited to see what new skills I have to learn to finish it! Came down to say the same thing. Throw some gussets in your corners little strength and some “flair”. That or spend some money and buy a cheap tube bender. Easy to say when it’s not my money. Lol

The LS just fits so well in these cars, you should definitely do it! I'd love to do a Ford swap one day it just isn't in the cards right now. I went with aje because it was affordable and I was able to get it locally! It'll be in the next video.

Make sure the rings are gaped if you don't your going to be breaking pistons. I have seen so many put a turbo on their LS and the first over 8 or 10 PSI the ring lands will break so if you want to run high boost gap the rings ua-cam.com/video/jAGOPaXGxx0/v-deo.html
Oh good call and thanks for the link, I appreciate that! I've heard some people say you don't always need to gap the rings on higher mileage motors, do you have any thoughts on that?
Wrong. I’m running 14lbs on stock gap and pump 93… that only happens when an idiot tunes it or the intercooler is bypassed.. 13-14lbs safely anything over that I would gap 10-14 with proper timing is a ok.

I knew I'd lose some people, I have another Ford chassis I haven't shown on here yet that I'd like to do a 302/manual trans combo in. Never got to experience an LS before so I want to see what all the fuss is about lol

Yeah you're probably right. I just want to keep it looking as unsuspecting as possible, crappy paint and steel wheels with full exhaust. Hopefully it'll surprise some people!
Sorry you feel that way! I'm excited for the build either way. If I had a big budget I'd do a Godzilla motor, but I don't have those kinds of funds right now. Maybe one day!

FYI Im not strictly Ford I daily a Escalade 6.0 AWD even had the idea of swapping into one of my foxbodies but after a little research LS is just as expensive as others. Good luck on your build.

buy a cheap pipe bender .. it will kink BUT its not structural its just for support [ FRONT RAD SUPPORT ]
