Enjoyed the review Tom...very detailed and interesting to see the comparison with the sabre saw. Re the battery, given that your own charger put 1.1 AH into it then it's surely likely to be a 1.2AH battery which traditionally is one of the standard sizes of these type of batteries.

Hi Brian...thanks again...yes you may be correct re the capacity....the charge I did on my RC battery charger may not have given the most accurate result though as it may rely on the balance board being connected as well (which I always use on my RC batts of course but cant on the saw batts)so may have cut out early
Either way they do seem to give a good amount of useage...the whole vid was done with 1 battery and it still had power at the end.
I have seen some of these cheap no name saws as a bare item designed to work with certain branded batts like Makita so if you have a good brand battery it would be worth searching for a bare bones saw.

@@TomsManShed That all makes sense....and as you say the battery has no problem with runtime. When I first saw it I thought this saw would be a bit rubbish, a bit of a novelty item..and a bit dangerous too. I think I was wrong, at least in the first two points! I have since watched another video where a german chap compares a 20v Parkside one with a Stihl equivalent and the Parkside won the test...with the added benefit of being compatible with all of their standard 20v batteries. He did a lot of cuts with a 4ah battery!

I'm not saying there's loads of fake reviews on Amazon but no 80 year old lady in the UK is going to say they weigh 50kgs... 😂😂😂

Lol....wondered what you meant at 1st but then realised you were referring to one of the reviews on Amazon :) ...mmm I don't know I have seen some pretty skinny 8 stone 80 year olds but yes you would think she would say it as 8 stone not as 50kg ...maybe she is "down with the kids" :)

I got one yesterday for £38 from Amazon. Used it today found it quite good but I dont think any oil gets pumped, I could see no where it could. I used some of the oil from the small container however I ended up using nonsense oil from screwfix to do the oiling myself. Someone mentioned on amazon reviews it can take Makita LXT batteries, I haven't tried that yet. It would have been nice if the batteries had some sort of charged display. I wasn't sure batteries were charging with the barrel jack and charger, the batteries didn't get warm when charging, so I assume they must charge up quite slowly. Overall so far impressed with it, it certainly felt well-built. I have a Ryobi battery chainsaw only used it twice and that leaks oil I think it may be a issue with most chainsaws. I just empty the oil tank back into the bottle (scewfix nonsense chain oil) for next time. Then I use a Makita blower I just got for xmas to clean the bits of wood off, a quick wipe down and put away for next time. I think thsi tool is well worth the money its now £54.99 but on 27th December 2023 it was £38.49 with £16.50 promotion tick box

Hi Chris....yes I think for the price they are great value...as I say not as good as a Stihl or Dewalt etc but again not the price either and for my VERY occasional use its fine ...I agree the oil thing isn't good...mine isn't an auto pump ..you just squeeze the little bulb.....you are right ...just using a separate can of oil is the best way.
Yes the batteries/charger will be very un sophisticated so prob cant take a rapid charge...I thought about welding together a better pack from some decent panasonic/lg cells but decided it wasn't worth it for my use.

@@TomsManShed I didnt see any oil going on the chain. Also the instructions are false with regard to chain tension. On mine it implied the black knob could tighten the chain when all it does its hold the plastic housing. As your video shown its the screw you tighten up. Still a good chainsaw though for the money. Lots of saws seem to be same accept some minor differences A lot of Chinese tools are like that same factor just different brands and colours. This wont replace my Ryobi chain saw but I got it mostly for small branches and take off side branches when I take a small trunk down. I might try Makita batteries at some point but wont use fast charger assuming it works
