  • Here is a great looking foam Pitts biplane that is small enough to fit in anyone's car but flies as good as many larger planes I love. It's a winner! In this video we see what's in the box, go over the build and then go fly the Pitts with a 3 and 4 cell lipo!

    My Pitts arrived today. Cant wait to get her in the air..... We are having very high winds and rain this weekend in the UK so it will not be its maiden this weekend..... i have to say that I now own 5 Horizon Hobby Planes including the Cirrus and although I have purchased a couple of Durafly and two Dynam planes..... I've had no real issues to speak of with any of the Horizon Planes and think the extra cost is worth paying......... Thanks for your review guys, Happy flying ........... Steve

    Those little planes fly amazing for its size, yrs ago this was impossible. I know many of them high standards, to me is more of a A-. It stays in one piece, tracks well, can do most maneuvers, nice flying envelope. Its literally an achievement how well it flies on such a small scale.

      I was surprised too. Even the big GP Christen Eagles would be static displays at my club due to its apparent required skillset to fly! This sport has come so far since personally starting in 1981 with building and not flying a Bridi Trainer .40. It was NO trainer!

    Yea the video wasn’t the best. But you can see the diff between batteries. But the build video was top notch. Thank u so much for that . Good stuff. I just bought the plane. Will be delivered tomorrow. And I needed some pointers. So thank u so very much

    I found that sanding the top and bottom of the Struts would remove very little of the hard plastic. It was just enough to improve the alignment and make the insertion of the pins reliable and still tight.

    Another great review. I was going to get one but decided to get the Mamba 10 i think the mamba is more of a 3D bipe but this one looks like flys well. Jason not a bi plane fan? how rude! LOL..

    The red plastic dowel for the bottom wing cotter pin can screw in so that the wing fits tight to the fuselage. I don't think the instructions mention that. When I first put the cotter pin in, I thought the wing was moving around a little too much and then I found out the plastic piece that the pin fits into can screw into the fuselage.

      It sure looked to me as if that bottom wing coulda been tighter to the fuselage for sure. (in the back anyway)

    Thanks for the video review. I picked up the plane as I'm a huge fan of the Pitts family but as for the CG, you mention 70-73mm from the leading edge. I'm using a 3S 3000mah eflite battery and I've moved the battery as far back as I can to keep both straps holding the battery and still have a nose down attitude on the balance. Any suggestion as to the battery placement? Also can you share how far to place your fingers at the end of the wing to measure the CG? I'm just looking for a reference to make sure I"m as close as possible.

    What is the flight time used for first flight on 2200 3s?

    Also, what are you calling blenders? The only blenders I have ever heard of in almost 60 years of flying (full size and models) belong in the kitchen. Do you mean spins or snap rolls?

    • @rcgvideos
      @rcgvideos  2 роки тому

      A Blender in RC Airplanes is a 3D move that starts with a nose down vertical dive, aileron rolls to a snap and inverted flap spin. More info here ua-cam.com/video/jepPW1x_neY/v-deo.html

    Hi like your video! Would this make a good park flier? I like to go to the park and fly low and slow and then practice basic areobatics.

    No right rudder , right ailerons on TO? Every sim I ever flew a Pitts on have required serious finesse on the sticks during ground rolls. I like to use a little light spackle on those molding pits in the foam. Smooths things out and is paintable.

      The stabilization board helps out tremendously.

      Oh this is BnF. Is there a PnP version? I would love a Pitts. Use to deliver avgas for Dagmar Kress (US Female Aerobatic pilot) who took me up in her S2B...what a little rocket ride! 300hp dragging around tube and fabric with a little plexiglass, rubber and bungee cord (LG suspension)! Never had a better experience ever! This would have nostalgic value to me also.

    It really grits my teeth to hear you calling the interplane struts cabane struts. The cabane struts are the ones between the fuselage and the top wing. The struts between the top and bottom wings are interplane struts.
