Northern Hairy-Nosed Wombat.

I had the opportunity to photograph and record footage of the critically endangered Northern Hairy-Nosed Wombat, Lasiorhinus krefftii in Epping Forest. I was doing conservation work and spent early mornings and early evenings hoping to spot this rare and seldom seen animal. As they are strictly nocturnal I was very fortunate to record some footage as the sun was setting and at dusk.

What an adorable wombst. I see the difference between Northern and Southern Hairy Nose Wombats. The Northern wombats are brown whilst the Southern wombats are grey. The Northern wombats have a dark nose while the Southern wombats have a white nose. They, along with the bare-nosed wombat, are all seriously cute. They do remind me a lot of koalas. I actually call wombats, land koalas, lol! I hoe both Northern and Southern Hairy Nosed Wombats will make a comeback. Not quite certain if the bare nosed wombats are endangered or not. They nake the most interesting sounds, too, like a hiss, sort of. Its so unfair that Australia has all the cute animals!❤❤❤❤

They are certainly beautiful animals and I had a lot of fun filming. A lot of conservation is going into bringing the numbers up and I hope to get some more footage soon. Thank you for watching and commenting. 👍
