I started my UA-cam channel this past month because my goal was to start it before I turned 60. I turned to 60 on Friday and I have four videos up and running. They are far from good but they are out there and I am learning and I enjoy watching you because you are very full of great ideas that I’ve been taking notes on. I know it’s going to be slow to get started, but I’m having fun and hopefully it will be interesting to someone out there.

You have helped inspire me to start my own over 40s vlog channel. I just posted my first video today. You remind me of my dad but that’s not a bad thing he was cool 😎 thanks for everything
That was a motivating video. Several of your points hit the nail on the head. I have a lot of skills and hobbies. I live a great retirement life. I only need more time in the day. I have a beautiful back yard. Patios. Fountains. River beds. Magnificent deck. I haven’t been active with upgrades over the past few years - knee replacement couple years ago and inside renovation in 2024. I was inspired this past fall to add some upgrades in the yard. I think I can have an introduction video with a tour of the yard, how I got to where it is, recent upgrades, and the short term plans I have. This is a good time to start. Videoing the winter months as I add and change features. The upgrades through time with the changes in spring through summer and fall will provide plenty of content. Sounds like a plan. Thanks for the motivation boost.

Thank you, Kevin, for sharing such wonderful insights. I truly enjoy discussing work-life balance. At 44, I’ve come to understand that some personal experiences shape our perspective on this topic. Over the past 5-6 years, I’ve adopted certain practices that have significantly improved my health, peace, and happiness.,I’d love to exchange thoughts on this and share some of the practices that have worked wonders for me. Together, we can inspire others to prioritize well-being and find their own balance in life.
Hey Kevin! Great stuff, love watching your videos. I decided to start a channel about travel - general travel tips and places I visit. After seeing friends/coworkers/random people I meet at the farmer's market/mall (or wherever) who were looking for advice about the places I've been, I thought it'd be a great topic. It's given me a deeper appreciation for the places I do visit along with a creative outlet such as filming. I'm still new to it all and still trying to find my voice but I'm enjoying the process.
Hey Kevin, thanks for validating that my new channel idea is on track. I plan to combine a couple of the topic areas you mentioned into my new channel, which I'm launching on January 1. I will toss one more idea out there to make a 10th channel idea for 2025. AI Tips for People Over 40. Hi, I’m over 65 and new to making UA-cam videos as a hobby lol. I’m interested in seeing how it goes. I really enjoy your videos and the tips you share. Thank you!
Thank you for such great starters ideas 💡 to start with a channel. I'm 60, and I love styling and my many looks, using pieces from thrift finds, or some vintage pieces, I had kept for many years, to recreate fashionable looks for less, mixing and matching pieces from my closet, I've done this for many years, never really looking at it being a visionary thing, but its such a natural thing for me, my friends have always complement me on how I bring my looks together, using pieces from my closet, or shopping thrift stores for interesting stuff. Your video here has ✨️ sparkle me to tape more into my passion as it has always been the niche , I have always had, and another kool thing, I can see a picture in a high fashion magazine, and recreate a similar style look, and to my surprise, I have something in my closet that is so similar, not even knowing, sometimes its scary, like it was waiting for me to create something. The coolest thing coolest!!! Now can you help with a title for me, lol😊😂

Hi Kevin. I posted my first video this week! My channel is about using hot peppers to make jams, jellies and all sorts of other food items. The first video was the hardest but really loving the process.
Thank you, Kevin, those ideas are brilliant. Most of them are no for me at least as far as I could imagine now but anyway I've got something to think about. Best wishes from Moscow and thanx again! 🙂
I really need to think about this. I have grandchildren and a large family. I love dancing 💃🏾 . I’ve done videos on natural hard . I also love unboxing products that’s my favorite. My mind goes 100 miles an hour it’s hard to stay focused on 1 thing
As a housesitter, I initially wanted to base my UA-cam channel around that concept. However, I'm unsure if there's a significant audience for it. I'm also a photographer and travel extensively in my campervan, which is one reason I housesit. I'm now trying to figure out how to combine these three passions - housesitting, van travel/travel, and photography - into a cohesive niche. For now, I'm starting with the idea of being ... "the traveling van housesitting photographer" ;) haha. Just starting, I'm hoping that as I create content, the path will become clearer. 😊
I have always fancied having a UA-cam channel but didn’t feel like I had something to say. However I decided to get help with my weight and try a GLP1 and that’s when it hit me that that was what I wanted to document here in the UK as it hadn’t really taken off yet. I am only 10 weeks in and numbers are low 83 subs and 205 hours watched but the numbers are steadily growing daily and I value every single person who is taking their time out to watch and support me and hopefully learn a little something from my journey. Here is something I feel a bit of shame about…… others have started after me and some of their videos are blowing up and tbh some of them aren’t great. I know UA-cam is random in what it promotes but it is a lesson in patience and just hoping I get one of those that just pop off. Maybe do a video on comparison is the thief of joy 😅 I might learn something ❤ Love your content and style.
Still working on your advice in the video of "finding your niche" and asking "What am I an expert at...?" Great information here Kevin and feel like I hit the lottery finding your channel! THANK YOU!
Thanks to you and your videos I’ve been watching the last 4 days I will be recording my first video tomorrow come h*ll or high water! I’m done overthinking and will put something on this platform and will figure something out for the second video 🎉🎉🎉.
My channel is all about hypnosis and relaxation. It started with a soothing bedtime self-love hypnosis audio, and I'm excited to expand with more themes and higher-quality content!
Thank you, very solid advices...I'm 48 and just started a channel about avantgarde art. After one week I have 0 subs and 0-3 views... 😁😁😁...But I realy like the whole process of making videos...I think patience and dedication to work are big things here on YT...However, It is not easy work at all...
im 50 and i made videos similar with your advice and its just a hobby ,,,,for NOW LOL ,,, hope it get views ..... THANKS FOR THE INSPIRATIONS . Blessings always!!!
Hey Kevin! Thanks for your great content. Helps me a lot to find out what I want to do. What I’m struggling a little is talking in front of a camera and make it look natural. Do you have some tips? Thanks again and all the best! 🙏

My channel is a travel Chanel as an older newish traveller who is learning and sharing tips from a couple who are empty nesters. Been my desire since I started in 2019
I've been wondering on this question about should I have more than one channel for (kind of) different subjects? Or even should I discard my old and abandoned channel and start a new one?

Thanks! 🙏 I take ancient Gladiatoral combat techniques and apply them to modern day self defense. I should've started posting years ago but better late than never. When we reach our 40's and beyond we seem to have more to protect and more to lose, and our time gets split between work, family and hobbies. I wanted to create a channel to arm people with ancient strategies that will help them protect themselves and their loved ones, without sacrificing so much training time away from their family. To create a good balance in all things. That's the plan! Your channel was great in inspiring action. Enjoying your posts! 😁👍.
My niche is my hobby that I've had since I was 5 years old. I was on Celebrity Cruises' first cruise ship ever within a few years of the ship being in operation. I'm now 37 now, but some of my followers are older than me, and that's fine: I make videos for all ages. Travel has no age limit, so why should my cruise content?
Curious to know what will your UA-cam channel be about? (Please don't share a link, those get deleted 😁❤)

Appreciate that, thanks!
I like the healthy aging tips one. Maybe expand later and offer life coaching. These are all good! Thanks for the insights.
@@realMartinHamilton glad it helped
Thank you for sharing. My channel is about crafts (small so far). Learning every day
Another amazing video😍! While I’ve been facing some health challenges lately, I’m staying hopeful and positive, praying to be fully well so I can be consistent in 2025. Sir Kevin, your inspiration and incredible content always motivate me. Please continue your amazing work and take care of yourself. Our health is truly our greatest wealth❤
Great. Thanks for the update and advice ❤
Definitely hobbies and passions❤
I chose to focus my channel on healthy habits to thrive in midlife! I sprinkle in empty nest fun videos. Love the trend for over 40 UA-camrs!
Ohhh, very cool!
Thanks! a Ton Kevin😜 super useful content as always😋
Glad you enjoyed it!
Great job, thanks.
Hi Kevin. I posted my first video this week! My channel is about using hot peppers to make jams, jellies and all sorts of other food items. The first video was the hardest but really loving the process.
Way to go!!!
Some feedback. Your motivation worked. I started a channel and got my first video up today. So kool.
WOOOOO-HOOOOOO! Let's go!
Loving the content. Happy holidays BROTHA!
Appreciate it!
Adventure & Travel. Thats my jam. Great advice.
Good jam too!
Thank you, Kevin, those ideas are brilliant. Most of them are no for me at least as far as I could imagine now but anyway I've got something to think about. Best wishes from Moscow and thanx again! 🙂
Glad to help, thanks for watching! Hey from the US.
@@KevinKolbe God bless US and your family
THANK YOU!
To anyone who doesn't know something that you already know, you are the expert. Go for it.
Awww, so nice of you to say that. Go for it!
True that
@@jylromain6439 thank you! It’s that imposter syndrome 😝
@@KevinKolbe I am and may just need to book a call soon!
Thanks to you and your videos I’ve been watching the last 4 days I will be recording my first video tomorrow come h*ll or high water! I’m done overthinking and will put something on this platform and will figure something out for the second video 🎉🎉🎉.

Kevin thank you for you motivation
Any time
My channel is all about hypnosis and relaxation.
Keep it up
These are really great ideas!

Hey Kevin! Thanks for your great content. Helps me a lot to find out what I want to do. What I’m struggling a little is talking in front of a camera and make it look natural. Do you have some tips?
Thanks again and all the best! 🙏

You are a great UA-camr very inspiring
Thank you so much 😀 I really appreciate that!
I tried health and wellBEing for 40 years… here’s what happened 😍💪🏽🙏🏾💎
You and Professor Nez should do a collaboration 😊
Yes, Those of us WAY over 40 have a lot to offer. The thing I would tell those thinking of being a UA-camr is just choose an idea and go. No ones going to watch right away 😂😂 Soonr or later you are going to hit your stride and you will be golden. Look at Kolbe, HaHa😂 Good stuff Kevin, Aloha
Thanks for sharing!!

Hey just found your page and I’m really enjoying it.
I’m 52 and want to have a UA-cam page for my beard care business..
Thanks for the inspiration
Very cool. You had me at "beard care" 👊
👊🏼
I just uploaded my first two videos on YT, as a brand new video maker, using a Google account dedicated to my niche.
Nice!
Thanks
My channel is a travel Chanel as an older newish traveller who is learning and sharing tips from a couple who are empty nesters. Been my desire since I started in 2019
Love it!
@ thanks
好溫暖 謝謝你的分享
真的很感激。太感謝了。
Do you use a teleprompter? Trying different methods of making videos and yours are very fluid and you don't look like you are reading.
I've been wondering on this question about should I have more than one channel for (kind of) different subjects? Or even should I discard my old and abandoned channel and start a new one?
60k!!!
Q: which iPhone gimbal do you recommend? DJI
I recommend going with the DJI Osmo Pocket 3. Cool camera AND gimbal all together. One of the best gear purchases I've made. Link (aff) amzn.to/49jjzLT
I teach tech skills online and would like to upload videos on that.
I'm 59 and own and run an IT consultancy with my two Son's but my UA-cam Channel is about my passion, Music.
Love it.
@@KevinKolbe Love your channel too 🙂
How about over 50 and fighting with swords UA-cam channel? ⚔️ 🤔😉 You're never too old 😁
Starting later in life you have a wealth of experience to share.
You've been there, you've done it and you can share it!
Enjoying your channel! 👍
Sword fighting sounds way cool!
Thanks! 🙏
I take ancient Gladiatoral combat techniques and apply them to modern day self defense.
