One material you could employ is thin jewelry chain. Attach it to where a snipped-off melee weapon would go, and make it rigid using superglue in a pose of your choice. Or wrap it around arms or legs, or hanging from a belt. If the seam between another swapped bit seems too noticeable, a bit of chain wrapped around can disguise it. Extra gubbins hide a multitude of sins.
the shootas don't look impossible, but they are above beginner level for sure. With enough determination you can achieve a lot with greenstuff. Love the video
Some very cool hints and tips here. I worry about the future of Ork kits though. The older kits are full of extra bitz, but the modern kits have barely any options of extra/spare parts. The bitz boxes of the future are going to be very small. 😒

@DaRedWunzGoFasta this is true. Just with kits like the new Boyz and Beast Snaggas, there is very little spare bits left over compared to older multipart kits. Not to mention the various buggies. I worry that as time passes and those classic kits we have become so accustomed to get phased out we are going to have far less bits for kitbashes and conversions. And that will be a sad day indeed.
A really helpful look ahead of my tackling my boarding patrol and combat patrol boxes. I think those plus the nobz and runtherd boxes I've already built should give me plenty to get started with, along with ghaz of course. Waaagh. Another useful source of armour bits is the new berserkers kit, it comes with loads more than you'll need, some have symbols that would need shaving off, but some are just spikes.

@Pubmaster32 the standalone Primaris Ancient comes with 2 banners but I prefer the weird Sister of Battle banner bearer that comes with a psyker. It's a great banner and that model can be found super cheap.

Great video, thank you for sharing this 💚 Just wanted to add, that for converting some of those monopose Shoota Boyz, a good option might be some of the leftover arms feom the Kommandos kit (specifically, when they are built with the full Kill Team loadouts and you end up with leftover Choppa/Slugga arms). Currently in the middle of doing this conversion, but you could cut down to the grip portion of the Shoota, and add the Slugga barrel part onto the front of it (as you showed in this video). It ends up with the Slugga being held very close in to the Boyz' torsos, but I play this off as the Boyz copying John Wick 😁 You could then switch the whole other arm for a Kommando Choppa arm, although this would need some green stuff work to llug the inevitable gaps between the Kommando arms and the Boyz torso sections.
Just thinking on the spot: Isn’t it possible to convert the mono pose shoota boyz to hold the rocket launcher from the multi pose kit? Haven’t had a look myself, since all my mono pose boyz are unbuilt, but maybe that’s even an option. Ork boyz are a versitile lot. Keep on making waaaghsome videos!
After trying my hand at modifying my second set of Beast Snagga Boys (from the newer Combat Patrol) and having numerous unexpected issues, it’s clear this stuff is beyond my current skill level. Any suggestions where to start?
I did! Unfortunately a lot of the body itself is molded into the shoota on deez boyz. Youz could do it, but it's surgery only the hardiest of Mad Doks would attempt.

If the headhole is too deep you can fill it with sand or something then glue it down.
