  • Welcome back, Kraken Crew! Today I'm going to be fulfilling a boyhood dream--making my own Harry Potter wand for a Halloween costume.
Don't forget that metal casting is dangerous! Always wear the appropriate safety gear and take precautions to be safe!
Want to make one with me? Here's a link to the 3D print file!

I don’t even know where to start. Loved the intro, loved hearing about the birthday party, love all the wands you showed us.
The sand coming out of the flask? I laughed, I swore for you, I gave my screen the finger Scrap2Cast style.
I love the finished product. It looks so cool just as a brass wand, but the black and then the polishing to highlight parts and the rough look it has makes it seem like a weathered and worn wand of a Wizard master. It looks SOOO good.
Glad to see you back my friend. I’d love to see a wood turning video of making a wood wand if you ever film one.

Thanks for all that, man! I might do one, but I don't really know what I'm doing on the lathe. I'd probably make a lot of people mad. 🤣

The Harry Potter party was stellar, one of the best parts was how the wands chose the kids they were blown away how cool that was. Glad to see more metal melting going on , you should do a wood turning video sometime as well, along with casting something cool! Keep them coming we love to see the next project !!

Glad you're back but don't ever apologise for taking time out for family. Great video as always

On the blow out one, that’s actually a seriously cool look actually. Like done in cgi or even traditional animation to show the outward effects of like a blowback on a spell? Really cool look. Also for the skull portion you could always pivot to a fleur-de-lis or a four leaf clover or something more in the Victorian gothic realm like the stained glass detailing as that was the aesthetic of the books and movies. I’m partial to floral and Celtic designs myself but then again I am the one who is writing about an Irish witch running a spy ring (very scarlet pimpernel style) while she’s still in school during a war. 😉

Ooh, I like that. I'm very partial to a good fleur de lis myself. And your book sounds intense!

Was that an old fax machine noise I heard while you were riddling the sand? Haha
I can't believe your sand fell out even with the ridge
It matches your beard 🤣🤣 but wow!!!! Wow!!!!

Something like that. 🤣 I think the ridge failed because the sand wasn't packed tight enough; I barely had enough sand to fill the mold. Thanks for watching!
