thanks for picking me for this video, i use the minimalist to scrape off some texture paste or add some sort of scratch texture by sliding along the painting.
Griptilian is a very classic design. Easy to carry, affordable, and great quality for the price. This is why everyone has one and beats the hell out of them!
I think a big part of the Griptilian being a hard user favorite, is it has the right trifecta = easy one hand open/close for the guys that actually use it at work, blade steel options, and a decent price range. 🎉 I should upload mine... it was the first knife I ever owed and was issued to me as part of my military kit all the way back in 2001. It's still my backup truck knife I liked so much I bought a custom one. I even accidentally ran over it with the Humvee in gravel and it didn't damage it, just added battle worn scares like me.😅
I've got Benchmade, Spyderco, and other highend knives, but my daily beater for years now is a $30 Buck 285 Bantam. Easy to use and sharpen, and has never disappointed me.
The only knife that makes me always go for it, is not one of my expensive ones. Since I've seen others, having exactly the same experience, that means it's not me, but the knife! That's the Manly Patriot. (Even famous UA-camrs like the DBK, used this knife for years , even in their videos, when they had a ton of knives to choose from) PS Both me and them, we all have Custom knives, 600$ Semi/Custom knives and a ton of mass produced factory made knives. For a good edc knife, if you don't go for a Victorinox SAK or a Spirit X, then choose a simple design. The more simple it looks, the better. Manly Patriot, has a Simple, small and lightweight Kydex sheath, which adds to the practicality and ease of use.
I'd love to see a sebenza hard use but it's so expensive I can see why u don't see it often beaten up unless you're a rich construction/brick layer type of worker?
Why the grip i think is because they used a cheaper handle construction and thicker blade stock. It gives decent bang for buck at semi affordable pricing. You dont feel too bad if you beat on it. i got both the sheepsfoot and tanto and love them.
Nice video like always Taylor. I really like the new editing where you have your narration video in the pictures of gear. Also the overlay of the note is a perfect addition.
The griptillian is so common in my opinion because for so long they were relatively cheap. The other thing I think is the black blade coating on the grips honestly SUCKS so they end up work knifes within a few uses it seems. I have 3 for those exact reasons.
very happy i re-discovered your content taylor, i remember watching your super old diy leather wallet video on MOD, the MOD before it was Modern Outdoor Dweller 🤑
I don't know, I just can't seem to get myself to hard-use any of my expensive knives. And I'm talking about anything over $200. I play with them a little and then put them back in their case. The most expensive knife I have ever put to hard use is my WE kitefin. And it still breaks my heart when I see the scratches on it. Although, I don't thing WE does a great job on their heat treat. With my Microtech knife, I don't even touch it with dirty hands. Basically, what I am trying to say is that I need help.
I can’t speak for everyone but for me and many I know the grip was the first “real” knife I ever owned so as I got more and nicer knives my the grip just naturally became one of my cheaper knives and became a beater.
The grip is our first good knife we see how good they can be then as we buy more expensive knives we go back to the grip as a beater and it just keeps taking it
Hey, Taylor, you have a very close association with Big Idea Design, and you're a watch guy, so are you ever gonna do a review on their Ti Field Watch?
Like always love the video, but I've just grown to love seeing you out of the office more and out there having fun. Please just make sure your happy and having fun. Don't make these videos just for us.
Taylor I got a message last night saying I had won a free mystery gift from you. All I had to do was pay shipping to the delivery agent. Now they want the money before they ship. Is this really you or a scam?
once my 940 shows her true use and abuse ill submit, most my stuff lives in leather and is made of things that dont show the true abuse i but it through

I live on a 10 acre ranch. I’ve switched to EDCing a fixed blade on the ranch. The hay and mud kept trashing the folders.
I picked up a 551 Griptilian from my local ace hardware for 99.99. The had them marked down from 150.00. I love it. It’s so light and perfect ergos
Griptilian is a very classic design. Easy to carry, affordable, and great quality for the price. This is why everyone has one and beats the hell out of them!
the griptilian was the bugout before there was a bugout. people bought it because it was billed to be usa made and reliable. no frills just a knife.

Love seeing these well used carries.
I love these EDC weekly videos. Keep em coming big man.
I've got Benchmade, Spyderco, and other highend knives, but my daily beater for years now is a $30 Buck 285 Bantam. Easy to use and sharpen, and has never disappointed me.
Wow! Insane ! Congratulations bryce
Thanks! Never thought I'd win with the odds.
Still can't believe I won the big GAW! Thanks! I Love your channel. Been subscribed for about 4 years.
The Griptilian was made to be (and has always been) a hard-work user knife
The only knife that makes me always go for it, is not one of my expensive ones. Since I've seen others, having exactly the same experience, that means it's not me, but the knife! Another Spyderco, but we're switching from the Griptilian. 🤣
Oops
I even scrolled back to see if I missed a. Spyderco before 😂
@@emesser7087 I did the same. I was so confused.
Yea I was so confused😅
In his defense that first Griptilian had a spyde hole
I think the griptilian has a thick handle reminiscent of a hard use utility knife. That’s why edc users love it for hard use
I'd love to see a sebenza hard use but it's so expensive I can see why u don't see it often beaten up unless you're a rich construction/brick layer type of worker?

Protech Malibu has been my hard use knife since it’s release.
Nice video like always Taylor. I really like the new editing where you have your narration video in the pictures of gear. Also the overlay of the note is a perfect addition.
You should do a video and give away on ( newbie’s and amateur edc pics for people just getting started)
Great idea.
Boogie carry w/ fancy flashlights! That would be dope
Ayyyy Tay Tay!! My wife was like why did you get so excited.. and I just said, "He's back."
I’ve got a lot of knives, can’t beat the griptilian for actual hard use. I always go back to it.
Stiff love this content 🙂 thank you for the effort make and share this. Wish you a nice weekend

Loved the EDC weekly!!

I have a kershaw barge as my beater. It is an absolute beast.
Holy crap nice GAW
Do you feature pictures with guns in them as well?
For me it’s the balance of value and durability. It’s the knife I reach for the most out of the knives I have in rotation.
The grip is our first good knife we see how good they can be then as we buy more expensive knives we go back to the grip as a beater and it just keeps taking it
Honestly it’s the Griptilian because most snap on trucks carry them.
Did anyone else catch Taylor repeat himself at 10:05? I’m listening along while working & thought I heard, “The Elma steel…” more than once.
Love the video and format ... Looks really polished.
For me it's the grip! Fits my hand perfectly.
Love the show. Can you do something for us in the uk?
I hate that the zerofeud pouches are only in one color right now, and they haven't responded about coming back with more colors
It's the working man's Benchmade. When your boss whips out a 940 or bailout and comments on how you should have one, but you have kids to feed.
Hey, Taylor, you have a very close association with Big Idea Design, and you're a watch guy, so are you ever gonna do a review on their Ti Field Watch?
all good and dandy but WHY are all these pics SO aesthetically pleasing?
Congratulations 👍
!Thx!

Can anyone recommend a good 2023 edc flashlight that runs on a single AA battery? Under $100
That giveaway is sick
I know right! I'm stoked.
My griptillian is beat up because it was my first nice knife and I didn’t get another nice knife for a couple years
Same.
This is not a shitty video!😂🤘🏻 thanks Taylor!
An awesome giveaway, whole damn carry. Great video taylor as always
If you're EDCing a $700 knife, you make more money than me.
Or they make terrible financial decisions
I have a boker Kalashnikov that looks like it was in Vietnam, Fallujah, hiroshima and ran over by a tank . still works perfectly lol
I’ve started this year using the Alpaka admin pouch for my EDC kilt sporran daily.
I totally muffed this up! I didn't showcase how wore out my sh!t is! Hahaha
I like this style of video with the small talking head and the text overlapping when read.
Poor Taylor, so many knives they never get used enough to look worn 😂 Don’t worry, just jealous!
the griptillian get so beat because its cheap. $50-$75 vs $150+
In Australia you just wouldn't beat up a Benchmade or Spyderco knife.
Too bloody expensive when you can pick a shitty industrial thing for nothing.
That’s some great stuff. I need to send you a picture of my every day carry
Notice everyone submitted was a tradesman. As an office guy, I don't know if I can compete.
I love my Spyderco Amalgam more than any knife I own, an a very close second the Kubey Raven KB245!
Loyal Stricklin gang
CS mini AK 47 all Day!
OLIGHT HAS A 5 YEAR WARRANTY !!!

Renault is pronounced Ren-O.
The Renault Clio was, and maybe still is, a brilliant first car and its a shame rhe brand doesn't exist in the US.
I didn't win ... how is that possible 😢
Renault is a French car manufacturer, it's pronounced ren-o or ren-alt
once my 940 shows her true use and abuse ill submit, most my stuff lives in leather and is made of things that dont show the true abuse i but it through
The Griptilian is inexpensive and has a very strong tip.
Mine snapped after about 2 weeks, finally got it reprofiled, and it's great now.
Not a hard use knife. Only knife I've ever owned that broke on me 😂
Because it's not that expensive
школьники вас насмотрятся и книпекс идут покупать, брелок за мамкины деньги
Idk if it is just me but the audio and the video are out of sync
The pliers are pronounced Nipex
If I say "nip-ex,' people tell me it's "kah-nip-ex." Chill
It’s definitely pronounced with a k
No, Definitely pronounce the K
It's hard for us Americans to think this is pronounced with a hard K, but they are. Kah-Nip-Ex just sounds wrong but that's how they're pronounced.
as a native german speaker, I can assure you the 'k' is pronounced and that he was almost spot-on
Bro, the mullet is played out. Cut that $hit off.
It's not a mullet. And no.
