super helpful breakdown, thanks. i have read elsewhere that the spring is not a return spring but actually helps keep the clutch pedal down (clutch disengaged). as you demonstrate in your video when you snap it down around 4:30.
This was insanely helpful. I have the return spring break on my car and I had no idea how to put this all back together. Atleast now I know what I need to do. Thanks again
Im manual swapping a 328i sedan i got for 375$, ive never manual swapped a car before but i had to get another e36 and these videos are perfect man thank you so much
This does not apply to all e36s and two slide pins that hold the spring are DIFFERENT part numbers. I hope this helps someone before they spend money on parts based on this video.
3:29 these are not the same part number. I bought two of the same part number on FCPeuro and they do not fit together. Checking realoem, they are two different part numbers. At least for my 98 328i.
Either way I bought two of 35301164381, and they do not fit together. I didn't realize there were more than one part number until I looked closer at the schematic, after I had purchased.
This is such great detailed clear concise stuff. Looking forward to the checking the turbo throttlee36. Can you shed any light on the "BOO" switch. Getting "brake circuit failure" on my console LCD?
Hey bro can u help me again .just finished up the swap but on the pedal assembly those 2 lock plastic pins that goes in the spring for the clutch.i ordered those two same pieces an they don’t line up but I did find is what there calling a locking pin that goes in the spring but it’s different It looks like a spear at the tip . An is this the right part can u help me broski please
M3NACE thank u OG really appreciate u helping me out .i ordered the spear thingy cause that’s the one it came with .honestly I would prefer to run your set up . They don’t align up though could u send me the link to specifically get the ones u got . Thanks again u literally have the best step bye step on the entire web ... e36ers for life never give up
ua-cam.com/video/h-Kz1NfeHQk/v-deo.html in this vid description is my full parts list with part numbers, i would copy the part no.s and paste them into google to find vendors for the parts
my clutch master cylinder has rubber grommets on them does not look the same as yours can i still by than one and put it onto my current one. the one i have is a little longer than the one u have
there might be some small differences due to it being on the other side but I believe the install should be fairly the same. you could look on realoem.com and plug in your year/model and it should give you a schematic of how it all goes together.
Nice video. I found out the hard way that the sliders are actually two separate numbers. one of them is 35311161719 and the other 35301164381. There may be a set that is available but this what I found.
the plastic part in the spring is a different part number /: I trusted you 🥲 lol I’ll update when I found out while I wait for the correct one to get shipped
Dude you are THE MAN for being super thorough in your explanations. Keep it up! Your channel kicks ass!
you already know man! thank you!

yeah im sure it does both, it snaps the pedal assembly back when you retract.

Since my six speed trans came from a z4 I had to shorten my selector and linkage almost a foot...

I see part number 35301164381, and 35311161719 on Realoem for my 98 328i

It may be to late but do you know the size of the two bolts that hold down the master cylinder?
Are all manual e36 pedal boxes the same? (eg 318i and m3)
Is there a part number for the pedal support? I have one but it won’t fit my sliders w the spring
Sorry blowing it up just catching up. Gonna run the clutch delay valve? Should I delete mine?
if you want to, ive never deleted mine or had an issue with running one in the first place

So there are 2 different spring setups, i like the OBD2 spring setup better. You can run the OBD1 setup (spear looking thing) if you prefer.

Excellent video, very good info!!!
can you use a 4cyl clutch pedal assembly?
Great vid man life saver 👍🏼😎
? Can I use the e46 pedal assembly.
Not for E36
Is it different for LHD and RHD models?
there might be some small differences due to it being on the other side but I believe the install should be fairly the same. you could look on realoem.com and plug in your year/model and it should give you a schematic of how it all goes together.
E46 pedal assembly fits e36?
I dont think so, you could check realoem.com for part numbers
Do you have clutch return spring part #s?
here is the pedal assembly breakdown, part numbers 14 & 11 are the spring assembly.
