As others have said, Jeff Goldblum is a famous actor. Many didn't know it, but he had a musical residency at a dinner club in Los Angeles for twenty years or so when he wasn't filming. This track was recorded for his first album "The Capitol Studios Sessions." They recreated the club environment in studio and recorded live performances. This video exists because they recorded this and other performances as a pilot of sorts--for a proposed television/streaming show featuring Goldblum. Haley and Jeff met for the first time a few days before this performance. "My Baby Just Cares For Me" was originally recorded in 1930. It's been covered by famous artists throughout the decades. This is the version jazz singer Nina Simone recorded in 1957.

Haley has been my favorite singer since I first saw her on American Idol back in 2011 I think. If you like the 40-50’s sound then you should listen to Postmodern Jukebox featuring Haley singing Creep or Seven Nation Army.

Jeff Goldblum is a successful actor from Jurassic Park, Independence and others. Haley finished 3rd in American Idol about 10 or so years ago and she grew up with parents in a rock band and often sang with them. She has done some amazing things with Post Modern Jukebox (Creep, Seven Nation Army, Habits, It's All About the Bass, Love Fool and Black Hole Sun). Haley has incredible voice control and she can sing Jazz and Pop and Rock. She does a wonderful cover of Can't Help Falling in Love and has a really good rock cover album covering songs like Can't Find My Way Home, White Rabbit, The Letter, For What It's Worth, Time of the Season, These Boots are Made for Walkin' and Baby It's You.

great reaction angel D.... jeff goldblum is great but the real gem here is haley reinhart. she maybe the best vocalist and performer of our time (certainly the most underrated). i think what is so phenomenal about haley is not just her amazing silk to sandpaper voice but also her character and soul that she puts into the performances. check out her amazing work with postmodern jukebox (aka pmj) who takes current popular songs and completely re-imagines them vintage (1920s to 1960s) in the music itself and style of the performances that actually take you back in time. they have a variety of good vocals but haley with pmj is exceptional. haley/pmj collaboratons "creep", "all about the bass", "seven nations army", and "don't speak" highly recommended.
haley's solo career is also superb. she has 4 LPs including: "listen up", "better", "what's that sound" and "lo-fi soul" and a recent EP "off the ground" for which she is currently on tour. her lack of mass popularity and industry recognition is primarily due to her resistance to major labels in order to maintain creative control of her music. this significantly limits exposure to tv, radio, etc. her biggest hit is "can't help falling in love with you" that was created and promoted by Extra Gum for an award winning commercial campaign. it now has well over 425m views and reached double platinum status. it is stunning and frequently described as what love sounds like here: (ua-cam.com/video/_uNpEbt7w_o/v-deo.html ) 😎
Haley is an anachronism for sure, if she was born 80 years ago we'd still be talking about her legend. She is a world class vocalist that is fiercely independent about her career and music. She exudes that while just standing and delivering. She has several with Post Modern Jukebox, "Creep" I would try 1st. Enjoyed the reaction!

Aye, it's a sensual performance, and serious vocal ability. But what makes it immediately different is its playfulness. Playful and also sensual - an unusual combination in song. I've listened to a number of other covers of this song, but I've never heard anyone else approach the song like this. Brilliant and highly original.
