Haley Reinhart's version of "Creep" is not only the absolute best in the line up today, it's even better than the original. I mean, it didn't get 120 million views by accident. People watched if for a reason and the reason is, it is by far the best version ever done. Indeed, it didn't stay on the Billboard Jazz Chart for 68 straight weeks for no reason at all. It stayed because people know perfection when they hear it . All the other renditions pale badly in comparison to the Haley Reinhart cover of "Creep". Hell, even the original pales in comparison. To answer the question... DEFINITELY Haley. I've heard this so many times I can't count...and I never tire of it. It's a spectacular performance. Both her AND the band. Just stunning. Great reaction!
PMJ and Haley all day, one mic, one take, on a day off. They take the song to an entirely different place while still respecting and representing the turmoil expressed in the original version. The slow sultry beginning and ending as a raging declaration of affirmation. I liked the Kina version as well.

I can totally relate to the goose bump thing. I'll take it a step further, and say that I'm often moved to actual tears for the exact same reason. Not because the song is sad or emotional, it's just an involuntary reaction to the exquisitely unexpected.
Yes! Me too! I'm not a big cryer but I have never not teared up listening to this cover. There was some magic in that studio for sure. Her nuance is just captivating.
I have tried to get my son to record his version of "Creep", It's amazing, but he isn't interested in doing it. He sang it one night at a Karaoke contest and he won. I may be biased because I'm his father, but he does have a full college scholarship in music because of his voice, the kid can sing. I may also be biased where Pau is concerned, but all bias aside, I love her version because it's simple and raw, just her amazing voice, and an old upright piano. With only that, she can project her emotions and touch people's souls.
He is 19. I have dozens of recordings of him on stage singing, he's not shy. He says he doesn't have time for anything like that right now. He's always busy rehearsing for something. The only reason he sang "Creep" that night for Karaoke was because his girlfriend wanted him to. lol @@ashlenamusic

I get chills every time I listen to this song, glad you liked it Ash!! Haaley is correct, she came in 3rd on American Idol 2010. Should have been 1st, but those shows are popularity contests. She did a great cover of Elvis Presley’s Can’t Help Falling In Love! She has at least a couple of albums she produced, LoFi Soul and Roll The Dice. I would love to hear Pau sing this again, now that her voice has matured, she has greater range and power now IMHO!!! Have a good one!😊⚡️
Lo-Fi Soul was Haley's fourth full album. Roll The Dice is an EP. Both were independently prouduced by her and released through Reinhart Records. Haley's debut album "Listen Up!" was produced with Interscope. Her second, "Better," with her music publisher, Ole. Her third album, "What's That Sound?," with Concord Records.
Pau's cover is the most real, raw, sincere, unforced, unpretentious and not overly-dramatic or overdone. Therefore, to me it is the best BY FAR. Just like the whole The Warning band - they're just REAL, and it's unmistakably evident.
Haley wins technical skills, but Pau just an iPhone and that piano. The full body chills hits me every time. Pau undoubtedly one of the best in world to understand the secret language of music we’re all drawn to. Great examples of the song all are great and music is subjective, what live is what we love. You have a great channel Ashlena always fun. 🤘⚡️🤘
It's like you made this video for me! :D Thank you so much for this reaction video, and for including clips of some of the best covers of Creep out there. Haley's/PMJ's cover is one of my absolute all-time favourite covers of this song. I, too, absolutely adore Pau's cover! The end of that video never ceases to put an enormous happy grin on my face. She's so wonderful (as is The Warning!). I think Haley's and Pau's covers are my top two.
BTW, thanks UA-cam for recommending this to me. :D Also, background on why it's like you made this video for me: Earlier this year, I went down a rabbit hole starting with the Haley/PMJ cover and listening to every cover of "Creep" that I could find. I posted a long thread on Mastodon. I'll put a URL in a separate comment, in case UA-cam censors the comment with the URL in it, but if you search for @sj@sfba.social and Creep, I suspect you'll find it. I ended up including over 50 covers of the song.
Pau+ piano = 😭.Raw émotions, less is more with her 😉. She wins by K.O., she is untouchable to convey émotions without overplay it. What did Pau is what must suit for the song (like The Warning always do for their own songs) itself and not thinking of showcase her own habilities (what all other singers didi with this song). 10000 subs 👏👏👏👏
Pau and Haley tie.... Haley has always been a vocal genius, but she's coming at this as a pro with a pro arrangement... while Pau is coming at it from the vantage point of being a fan of the song who learned and performed it in 3 hours live on her phone stream... totally different, and Pau wins for emotion to me... gut wrenching.... but Haley as a professional performance wins from that perspective... Pau's is the one that makes me cry
Paulina took a couple of hrs., learned the song on a slightly untuned piano, and a iPhone and turned the lyrics into reality, the best interpretation of what Radiohead meant for their song. Can you imagine what she would have done with a full production team, cause as we all know all Warning videos are epic masterpieces…TWA ⚡️⚡️⚡️
The song WAS NOT written for a woman to perform. From a man's perspective, its about worthyness. From a woman's perspective it's about envy. Changes the entire meaning of the song. BUT, I think it's better when a woman sings it.
There are always rumours about singers fighting adversity when performing. Slightly untuned piano works. In the case of Haley it was suggested she had the flu. Postmodern Jukebox Creep story, as per Scott Bradlee ua-cam.com/video/MskKSH1Kf4U/v-deo.htmlsi=Sl5osgOQx9Va9qgC
Hey - Kathy here - just found your channel and so glad to see you doing this one. It is one of my favorites of Creep covers. But if you want to see another version, check out Brian Justin Crum, he was on America's Got Talent. When he finished, the audience didn't make a sound for 4 to 5 seconds after he finished, then the roof was blown off. I have seen all the ones you have mentioned, but you didn't mention Brian, but you have to see it. Stripped down and really amazing. And Haley, she was on American Idol. If you like her, you need to check out some of her other performances from that show, they were amazing. She came in 3rd, but I think she should have won! And for a fun fact, she was sick when she walked in to record this and said let's do this in one take, and they did. And yeah, she changed keys and took it up and blew out that ending! The End! LOL
Obviously everyone can sing. It comes down to two factors: the composition and the ‘X’ factor. I tried to be as objective as possible. I feel that some were a showcase of their vocal abilities and that’s fine. Some very good compositions displayed, but I personally felt didn’t capture the song’s essence, which is isolation, depression, alienation etc At the end I felt that one artist grasped the meaning of the song best and became the WORDS and feelings of the song. This artist could’ve easily made a more complex version, but decided to make it about the song and not about them. Didn’t try to wow us with their vocal abilities and just laid it out for us to feel. Paulina Villarreal Vélez.
I think this comment phrases the decision as inherently virtuous. Pau had little time and had no choice but to lead with raw emotion and simplicity. And she pulled that off well. Haley's version has infinitely more vocal nuance -- she's an amazing vocalist, but her rendition is also less charged and personal, giving her the space to introduce nuance. That's the trade-off. As for communicating meaning, I give the edge to Haley. Pau relayed the same meaning for the song that basically every cover has since the original. But Haley's interpretation was a poignant exploration of what it feels like to blame yourself for failing to please someone who fundamentally cannot be pleased -- to try to contort yourself into a shape they will accept. To me, that is a more interesting concept. I prefer Haley's version but feel a little put off by comparing two renditions that have so little in common. Pau's rendition wins overwhelmingly on spontaneity and raw emotion, neither of which were Haley's goals.
After reading some comments, I thought… who is Pau? Had to search and she is from The Warning and it hit me. I know many reactors are reacting to the Warning lately, but this is first song I have ever heard her sing so it makes sense to me now why people like her version better as they have developed an attachment to her previously which I get so much, but this being the first time I have ever heard her sing… nah. Guess I better go down the Warning rabbit hole and see what all the hype is about - always love discovering new music
Haley's rendition of Creep stayed at the number one position on the Billboard Digital Jazz Songs chart for several weeks. It spent 58 consecutive weeks on Billboard's Jazz digital charts. You have to put Haley's rendition in a separate category from all the other covers of Creep.
So, am I the only one who doesn't connect with Haiey Rienhart's cover? For me, it was very common like something we would hear coming from "the voice" or "american idol', played out. Paulina's was different, passionate, raw- from the heart. And gave the song a different feel. Thank you for doing this , it was.cool
/ Don't b@rickytrevino7852 Okay, you don't connect with Haley's version. However, I canna understand how you csn possibly call it "common". It is the least "common" of all the versions I have ever heard. Her voice is also unique, particularly in the range of vocal colours she shows. This version weems almost as if it was the original version song and /Radiohead and subsequent versions modern attempts at the song. Dislike it, fair enough. But "common"? Don't be ridiculous.
If Haley's version felt common or played out, the lack is in your ear, not the rendition. Don't mean that as an insult. There are lots of styles I lack the ear for. But I promise there is a world of innovation and nuance in Haley's performance for lovers of that style.
I’ve heard a number of covers and none of them can touch the original for me because they all focus on the vocal emotion of the song and lay it across a very different instrument layer. Yet for me it’s the combination of both from the original that sets the song on fire. All these emotional vocal performances are indeed fantastic, but they simply don’t connect with me like the original. For example, I’ve never heard a cover that attempts to parlay the energy of the electric guitar work of the original. The static crunch that precedes the chorus is so powerful. Then as it backs hits screaming with a sonic wave it ignites the emotion into a blast of energy that all the other vocal excellences fail to translate. Obviously, this feeling is not shared by the multitudes given the popularity of the many covers, but it’s why I fail to be moved by them, including Pau’s great performance. That’s cool for everyone. I just wanted to add my perspective when it comes to admiring the covers. Understand I think these are excellent covers and I understand why so many love them.
I think the last girl you had had done Pink as well. I will have to look it up! Every single time I hear music I get chills! So much so, at some concerts I even cry! I thought it was only me! They all gave me chills, thank-you for that!
I love both Haley’s and Pau’s covers equally. Haley is the more technically proficient singer with a much more mature voice. Emotionally Pau’s version gives me literal goosebumps as well. It was much rawer and straight forward. Both covers trigger different parts of my brain and while I marveled more at Haley’s technique and embellishments, I “felt” Pau’s cover more.
Of course I'm biased to Pau's version especially with the back story behind it and how emotional (chills) I got watching her. ⚡ I think I mentioned this cover in a comment of Haley's cover of No Doubt you reacted to. I think this version is incredibly good I too got huge chills watching this especially when she was belting and when she goes low. I described her voice to my daughter as smooth power. 🔥 I liked the other covers you played too they were really good and I hadn't seen them so thank you Ash much appreciated. 🤟
I'm surprised at your choice of favourite covers. Even more surprised that Haley's version wasn't immediately your favourite version. Live recording and the single take we see and hear. Wonderfully creative musicality and vocal brilliance bringing highlights, contrasts emotions. The superb arrangement and instrumental backing with Haley's vocals raised the song to a completely new level. It's as if this is the original version recorded decades ago. A single take, no studio tinkering - professional jazz musicians and a professional singer who sings jazz - they don't need that "help" to play their music
Funny what you say about chills. I don't have it. It's even worse. I get tears running and a tickeling feeling in my nose. People might think I am sad, but it is the opposite...
I’m not sure if that definition for Musical Frisson fully applies to me when I listen to Hayley sing, because I get those shivers Every. Single. Time. I hear her sing. I think it’s more of an emotional response, because Artists like her are just able to connect so effortlessly. If you haven’t reacted to Hayley and Morgan James singing “Dear Prudence” on Morgan’s channel I STRONGLY recommend it!
The Tom Ellis one was great I'm glad you included it. Pau is the best though simply because she captured the emotion correctly. The song is an internal monologue it is depressing and self defeating song and relatable. Others may be more technically impressive and if it was any other song it would be different. Pau for Creep though for sure.
I took vincints cover literally. He was fighting to be on a talent show “what the hell am I doing here, I don’t belong here.” He is way too good to be on a talent show. I think the song can be interpreted in many ways :)
@@ashlenamusic True but he was backed up by professional music, stage lighting and cheering crowd (he had to win them over though) and composition. He did face intense pressure to stay on a talent show. However, the song at its core its not about winning a contest from what I know. Pau at home with a slightly out of tune piano and iPhone conveyed the private struggle on an internal monologue dealing with personal and social acceptance . These struggles happen more in solitude than in public.
I really like Haley's voice! Now these are all pretty, but Pau's is my favorite because of the raw emotion. Pau's in the only version that she makes you feel it comes from the depths of her soul. She makes me want to cry.
I have always felt that Pau's version was the best. It always gives me goosies and tears me up. However, the Haley version you just introduced me to was even more pervasive to my body. Great job putting this together!
I have always loved Haley's version with PMJ, but when Pau from The Warning did it, she took it to a whole new level!! The raw emotion in her voice is tangible, and she sings it like she wrote the damn song herself!😍🎵🎶👍👍
Hi dear Ashlena ! OMG ! I don't even know where to start... first of all let me tell you that the song "Creep" itself, by Radiohead, is a masterpiece on its own. Each and every cover that I just listened to, is incredible. Loved Pau's verrsion, as much as the other three covers. They all have incredible vocal abilities. Haley Reinhart simply KILLED it ! I love the muical arrangements by PMJB anyway, no matter WHAT song they arrange. So this time I really can't say which is my favourite version. BUT.... Talking abput getting goosebumps... Since you already read on patreon, my suggestions for your 10k live stream included four songs, and you decided to download "Alone in the night" already, which I really appreciate and which I am sure you will love love love so much, just like I do. Tarkus, just like me, also wouild love to see you react to Eivor - Fallung free (Live at the Old Theatre in Torshavn) ! For a good reason ! We both know, that during this song, you will not only be speechless, but also get goosebump after goosebump after goosebump.... probably all over your body again. Jack Savoretti,, my other suggestion, will probably have the sane effect on you when you hear his voice for the first time.... I can tell you, the man does not look like he sings (just to give you an "appetizer") 🙂 Hooverphonic, my last suggestion, is a Belgian trip hop band who did a specially arranged concert in Amsterdam in 2912, with added orchestra. The whole concert is simply wondeful and the singer who was in that band during this time, Noemi Wolfs, has a beautfiul and unique voice. "Heartbroken" is one of my favourtie songs from that concert. PHEW.... that was a lot, again... thanks for reading (in advance) and thanks for this wonderful reaction video ! See you soon, either here, or on patreon ! 'Best wishes from your fan Gerry
New to the channel, and very much enjoying your reactions. I'd kind of been looking for someone to do a comparison of Creep covers, particularly with Pau and Haley/PMJ, so thank you for this. I think covers con go two ways: an attempt to copy the original, or an attempt to make your own. Pau and Haley definitely make it their own, such that you can listen to the original followed by the cover and not feel like you have the same song on repeat. Haley now "owns" this song, like Joe Cocker took ownership of With A Little Help From My Friends from The Beatles following his performance at Woodstock. I've seen her in concert; she closes the show with it and just brings the house down. Radiohead has the angsty teen version, Pau has the "rip your heart out" version, and Haley has the adult version, and all three are greatness.
They are all good singers but Haley is the best everyone knows that has been proven thank you Haley for your beautiful voice the song from Hawaii aloha
While I appreciate these versions and everything these vocalists lend to the song, my ultimate favorite is Effie Passero's live version with Postmodern Jukebox from March 13, 2022. The raw emotion she exudes makes me forget to breathe.🫠💖
Just stumbled in here, no clue what you done before, but would love to see a reaction to "Du måste finnas" by Helen Sjöholm. The song is in swedish, but you can get english subtitles, but that song you don't have to understand, you will feel it and you seem to be attuned to music.
Handsfull of people doing a song that tears your heart out, doesn't necessarily tell you how good the singers are ( and the ones on this video are stunning), but just how good this song is. Even more interesting is it doesn't matter whether the singer is male or female, it still works!!!!! Oh course, if Floor did it all bets are off....
@@ashlenamusic Floor can sing anything, but would find it hard to bring the emotions that are needed for this song. In my opinion, neither can Haley and the part at 9:00 really removes any emotions and rather makes me wanna stick my fingers down my throat. Also, I'm not too fond of her hands on her body all the time. It does not give me the feeling that she wants a perfect body, but that she already thinks she has one. Maybe it's all because I hate all kinds of jazz music? 🤣🤣🤣
@@TheUnderdogDe Those are all jazz type things you dislike about Haley performance, so I think you are right about why you dislike it. Jazz tends to compress everything and emotions are just one of them. On the other hand PMJ specializes in "jazzifying" songs , so on that basis they do a pretty good job. Floor would likely "floorify" it , I think so wouldn't aim in the same emotional direction. Having said that , Floor grew up actually feeling like the freak, when she was a kid and a teenager, so may bring more than you think.
Congrats on 10K. Love the reaction. Love this version, but if you want chills, watch Brian Justin Crumb's version on America's Got Talent. It is literally breathtaking! Love your channel.

@@ashlenamusicWell they all can sing. But the one that gets to me is miss Paulina, she is pure emotion. She could make rocks cry. Thank you for the link to this video Ashlena
great reaction aslena. this female vintage interpretation and character embodiment of this classic is absolutely stunning.. just because she is a beautiful woman versus the presubscribed concept of stalker dude of the original by radiohead does not mean she can not be rejected by someone or society as a whole for being her true self and the imperfections that come with that. maybe she is obsessive, jealous or just does not fit the expected submissive girlfriend, wife, etc narrative of that time. all this creates an internal tug of war and debate within herself of what do i need to change for someone (or society) to accept or love her (i.e. be special) vs her loving herself for being authentic (i.e. remain a weirdo). although the specific circumstances are unique for each individual, we have all been there at some point and why so many people can relate to this song. however, the true masterpiece of the extraordinary performance is really just how well haley reinhart creatively taps all those mixed and conflicting emotions of the lyrics though her expansive and incredible vocals of soft breathiness, cries, belts, growls and scats strategically combined with her movements and facial expressions that creates this crazy push and pull effect that brings all those emotions out of us in both painful and satisfactory ways. her performance is an emotional roller coaster ride with postmodern jukebox providing the theme park underneath her. it's almost like she goes through the 12-steps of rejection and self acceptance in 4 minutes and 55 seconds. it is amazing and will go down as one of the best performances of our time.
I love the Warning And I love Haley Reinhart. Haley was a finalist on American idol many years ago and was known for her performance of House of the rising Sun on the show. There is another fantastic performance by her with PMJ singing All About The Bass. Also No speak, No doubt with PMJ. And she has countless others. You cannot compare these two as they are both stellar. A young Pau brings the raw emotion you might expect from her. Haley brings a sultry and soulful approach to the music which I personally love. One is not better than the other. It is just a matter of preference IMO. By the way, you missed one superb version of this song by Brian Justin Crum. It was on one of the singing shows, either American idol or America's got talent quite a few years ago. Absolutely incredible.😅
@@ashlenamusic Ashlena, if you do get the chance to check it out, I hope you'll make a mention of it in an upcoming video. I think it's up there with the best, maybe even better. He sings it as if he experienced it personally.

They're awesome in concert! My wife and I are going to see them for the second time coming up next march.
Amazing!!
PAULINA VALLEREAL! That little lady with the beautiful heart, is unmatched.
It's Pau! You can feel the emotion in her powerful voice. It brings tears to my eyes every time
Paulina Villarreal 🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤
Pau understands what to put into the song to connect with the audience, her sisters do as well.
It's like you made this video for me! :D
Thank you so much for this reaction video, and for including clips of some of the best covers of Creep out there.
Also, background on why it's like you made this video for me:
Earlier this year, I went down a rabbit hole starting with the Haley/PMJ cover and listening to every cover of "Creep" that I could find. I posted a long thread on Mastodon. I'll put a URL in a separate comment, in case UA-cam censors the comment with the URL in it, but if you search for @sj@sfba.social and Creep, I suspect you'll find it. I ended up including over 50 covers of the song.
Glad you enjoyed! And yes Pau is amazing!
Oh wow!!! I’ll definitely check it out!
she is number 1
The powerful, slightly raspy voice, the emotion, the piano...all renditions were good but for me, at the end it's a "YES!!!" for Pau. 🎶🔥🙌
I thought his voice sucked.
Yeah, the pure unadulterated JOY at the end of Pau's outstanding cover is absolutely infectious and delightful. :D
Both versions are awesome :) Pau's version though is unmatched in it's raw feelings. Thanks Ashlena :)
Pau's is the one that makes me cry
perfectly put!!
I am a new fan of yours. Love your straightforward review.
Thanks and welcome!!
@@ashlenamusicPau is like Linda Rondstadt in the emotion department. Both of them know how to bring it.

Some very good compositions displayed, but I personally felt didn’t capture the song’s essence, which is isolation, depression, alienation etc
At the end I felt that one artist grasped the meaning of the song best and became the WORDS and feelings of the song.
This artist could’ve easily made a more complex version, but decided to make it about the song and not about them. Didn’t try to wow us with their vocal abilities and just laid it out for us to feel.
Paulina Villarreal Vélez.
You are spot on with your comment.
Both versions are great but when Pau sings you not only hear it but you feel it! ⚡⚡⚡
Congrats on 10K and growing Ashlena!
In my humble opinion, this song now belongs to Haley.
Omg you’re going to have the best time down this rabbit hole!! You’ve been warned!
Haley's rendition of Creep stayed at the number one position on the Billboard Digital Jazz Songs chart for several weeks. It spent 58 consecutive weeks on Billboard's Jazz digital charts.
You have to put Haley's rendition in a separate category from all the other covers of Creep.
NO WAY!!!!! 🤯
@@ashlenamusic would a Torontonian lie to you?
Better not!! Haha
Thanks for watching! Yeah it’s definitely not my top choice either but it was good!
/ Don't b@rickytrevino7852
Okay, you don't connect with Haley's version.
Haley Reinhart hands down.
Pau. Can’t help loving her. ♥️✌🏻😎
No contest Haley Reinhart is the best.
No contest, the SLAYER owns this song, PERIOD!
I think the last girl you had had done Pink as well. I will have to look it up! Every single time I hear music I get chills! So much so, at some concerts I even cry! I thought it was only me! They all gave me chills, thank-you for that!
Glad you enjoyed it!!
@@ashlenamusic I did, I did!!
Definitely Pau then Haley
Pau voice give me chills, she reach my soul evry time i listen her. She is superior on every way.
It still isn’t my favorite 🤷🏽♀️
AHS@@ashlenamusic
I'm disappointed in you, Ashlena. I'll just have to accept that not everybody has my own impeccable taste! 😉😉😉
lol
Omg some people don't get music goosebumps????! That's one of the best things about listening to new music, specially with really good headphones!!!!
right?!?!
Funny what you say about chills. I don't have it. It's even worse. I get tears running and a tickeling feeling in my nose. People might think I am sad, but it is the opposite...
You don’t get chills! Honestly that’s so shocking to me! Love that you cry though 🥹
@@ashlenamusic 😁😆😄😃 we are all different
So interesting about goosebumps! I often get chills, but most of the time I tear up when I hear some irking stunning!
@@ashlenamusic Yeah that fits.
That is the truth
Absolutely
A friend of mine, many years ago, referred to the goosebumps phenomenon as CHORDASM.😊
Oooo I like that
Pau!!!
Pau just with her cellphone and her home old piano is more natural, emotional raw, sincere than all the others. So Pau wins.
For those shivers on a voice. You gotta check out Lake Street Dive what am I doing here
Here in Cajun Louisiana, it's pronounced free-SJAWNS, and it's such a lovely, useful word.
Sometimes too much expression spoils a song. It's all about authenticity. Nearly all of these songs are over-elaborated. The rawest is the best: Pau!
Surprise, Surprise... My favorite is Pau!!! ✌😁🤘
Thanks Gerry!! I will check out Eivor as well xx
Hailey's rendition always gets my vote for the best
Welcome to the channel!!!
Congratulations on 10K subs - well deserved!
Haley’s was technically great. Pau’s was emotionally great. The lyrics are emotional, so . . . 😎
Thank you so much!!!
@@ashlenamusicHaley gives you goosebumps Pau gives you tears and goosebumps.
@SDsailor7 Haley gives me tears every time. Pau didn't but I'm also less susceptible to raw walls of emotion, no shade on her.
Haley & PMJ are amazing…. But ‘Creep’ belongs to Paulina now. If ‘Hurt’ belongs to Johnny Cash (it does) then Pau owns ‘Creep’. Not even close.
Haha love it
Magic and music; Wow.
Paulina of course
I would love to hear floor sing this
@@ashlenamusic Floor can sing anything, but would find it hard to bring the emotions that are needed for this song.
Congratz on 10k.
Thanks Harry!
Congrats on 10K. Love the reaction. Love this version, but if you want chills, watch Brian Justin Crumb's version on America's Got Talent. It is literally breathtaking! Love your channel.
Pau all the way❤
I subscribed to hear more Haley Reinhart, she has lots of original music and great covers. React to “I don’t know how to love You”. It’s a deep and wonderful rabbit hole!
there is difference before a performer and an emotional raw natural born artist..you guess who is who?
Pau is definitely the emotional raw born artist… the rest are performers haha
@@ashlenamusicWell they all can sing. But the one that gets to me is miss Paulina, she is pure emotion. She could make rocks cry.
Thank you for the link to this video Ashlena
...okay that's a bad take. A really bad take.
great reaction aslena. this female vintage interpretation and character embodiment of this classic is absolutely stunning.. just because she is a beautiful woman versus the presubscribed concept of stalker dude of the original by radiohead does not mean she can not be rejected by someone or society as a whole for being her true self and the imperfections that come with that. maybe she is obsessive, jealous or just does not fit the expected submissive girlfriend, wife, etc narrative of that time. all this creates an internal tug of war and debate within herself of what do i need to change for someone (or society) to accept or love her (i.e. be special) vs her loving herself for being authentic (i.e. remain a weirdo). although the specific circumstances are unique for each individual, we have all been there at some point and why so many people can relate to this song.
however, the true masterpiece of the extraordinary performance is really just how well haley reinhart creatively taps all those mixed and conflicting emotions of the lyrics though her expansive and incredible vocals of soft breathiness, cries, belts, growls and scats strategically combined with her movements and facial expressions that creates this crazy push and pull effect that brings all those emotions out of us in both painful and satisfactory ways. her performance is an emotional roller coaster ride with postmodern jukebox providing the theme park underneath her. it's almost like she goes through the 12-steps of rejection and self acceptance in 4 minutes and 55 seconds. it is amazing and will go down as one of the best performances of our time.
Jena Irene did an amazing cover on American Idol!
Never heard it! I’ll check it out
@@ashlenamusic Ashlena, if you do get the chance to check it out, I hope you'll make a mention of it in an upcoming video. I think it's up there with the best, maybe even better. He sings it as if he experienced it personally.
Haley is amazing, her version is the best, better than the original I think. She puts so much into it and she has so much control over her voice.
I will say that I also like Ashley Johnson's cover of 'Creep' though. I wish she'd sing more because she's pretty great at it.
Mimi & Josy on The Voice Kids Germany. 99, yes ninety-nine MILLION views.
I’ve seen it. I think the one who sings second is phenomenal. Hence all the chair turns.
