This Mod will extend the frequecy from 146-148 MHz and 440-450 MHz (UK and European models only)
Please Note: I would recommend Only do this modification if you are competent with a soldering iron as you may damage the radio and void the warranty.
DO AT YOUR OWN RISK
Tools needed: Soldering iron, some form of magnification, screw driver to open the case bottom
Remove Diodes D332 and D326, access to the diodes can be done by removing the base cover plate of the IC-9700

Nice. A bit of Chip-Kwik desoldering alloy and its flux may work better for some users.

Is JP model possible to extend frequency from 144-146 to 144-148?
